Well credit to Tom Jones for holding his own with the greatest R&R artist that ever lived. Never seen anyone else actually bring something to a Chuck Berry duet. Enjoyed that.
@@biggerissues6085 Vocally, yes. But someone has to write the songs Tom sings and who's on the different planet there? Can't we just enjoy the proximity of the planets for that moment.
When I get chills going up and down my spine, and goosebumps cover my flesh., and the driving rhythms make my head start to spin. There is only one type of music that makes me wanna scream "yes." that's Chuck Berry and Rock n Roll. No other genre of music can do it.
Two Legends in one video! I remember as a young girl watching Tom Jones with my mom. I was young, but I knew what my mom was looking at. 😍 Tom Jones is a phenomenal entertainer, and he's still cranking it out! 🕺 Happy Tuesday... thank you for sharing!
Wow! It's a fantastic performance, they are having a lot of fun singing together and the camaraderie is undeniable. Watching it I can't help being reminded of Chuck's appearance with John and Yoko on The Mike Douglas Show in 1972. This duet with Tom Jones is so much better.
Love this, thanks for sharing. Two legendary performers giving a fabulous performance. Tom STILL has the most amazing voice that has defied laws of ageing. Truly incredible.
@@dinshawpocha4882 That has more to do with marketing, racism, influence, politics and luck. There's a lot of talentless performers who 'made it'with connections, while many true luminaries never break through. Happens in many industries. Ever heard of the Glass ceiling or the Old Boys Club? Most often, those in power in any field will attempt to control and manipulate that same field according to their politics or benefit.
He could really move. I absolutely love watching Dean and Jerry dance on their old shows. They were both fantastic. Dean was a bit rougher around in edges in his moves, while Jerry was very smooth. I especially enjoy "Every Street's a Boulevard" from the movie "Living it Up" which they also performed on the Colgate Comedy Hour.
Tom is pure sex machine love his voice & stage presence. Chuck is a mighty fine Rock N’ Roller whew!! The crowd is so energized too! Love how they give each other kudos at the end & the crowd responds after hearing their names, neither one upstaging the other but showing major respect!
The great Chuck Berry and the Real Tom Jones. In the early 60s Tom exploded onto the "Scene" singing "Hard Rock". Tom appear on a TV Pop music Show, singing a pretty intense version of the Ray Charles classic; "What I Say". Blown Away Man. 💥😍😎 (( That was way before "Delilah"---- Tom mellowed out a little by then. However ; --- Just as Elvis re-invented himself in late 60s: Tom re-invented himself in the 90s. Returned to his Rock n Roll roots, and Recorded a few classy Rhythm and Blues songs:- "Kiss" , "Sexbomb", in particular. And at 83, Jonesy it sill "Rocking" 😎 TU Sir Tom Jones. 🎼🎶🎙😍👏🏻👏🏻❤
I would have loved to sit down over a beer and chat with Chuck what a life, what a fine man and musician. He enjoyed the respect and played with so many famous artists, oh the stories he could tell.
Chuck invented just about everything. A Shame GenZ won;t give him his due. Gangsta Rappers also have a sordid past but you still put them in the R&R HOF Chuck deserves his BIOPIC!
There's an excellent documentary "Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll" (1987) where Chuck Berry performs with top musicians like Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Etta James, Johnnie Johnson, Linda Ronstadt, Steve Jordan, Bobby Keys and Julian Lennon.
This is the only generation not giving him his full due? Chuck Berry was undermined by many after him despite pioneering Rock n Roll. Anyone can go on online forums and will see Boom3rs (those of the S!lent Generation, Gen X and M!ll3nnials too) talking about how Elvis was more of a diverse artist than him, how Berry lacked his so-called charisma, say how only Elvis could be called king of the genre due to record sales, and imply how Berry or no one else could compare to him due to his success and image. A lot of these remarks about Chuck Berry come up especially in Elvis comparisons. If this is not giving someone their full due/undermining their contributions, by choosing to overlook creativity (as Chuck Berry wrote most of his hits and was more instrumentally inclined) for someone with more commercial appeal and success… than I do not know what is. I understand a lot of you d3spise those who are coming up as tweens, teens and young adults in the 2020s but I do not know how anyone can pin the under-appreciation (and induction of certain artists) on one generation. This situation is something that cannot be pinned on one cohort. The underappreciation for Chuck Berry, especially for other popular figures happened long before the generation you are referring to were born or came of age. For him to come into the music industry and not be as appreciated or documented like other figures down the line was something by design, which existed before he came into the world. Which makes it sadder when more people contribute to his under-appreciation, when many should be bringing more attention to his genius. One of the things many of us should be happy about is because of the advent of digital research and video sites, more and more people get to be exposed to Chuck Berry and realize the contributions he made to not only Rock and Roll but music period.
what's crazy is the fact that Tom Jones STILL sounds this good today
Saw Tom in concert last month in Nashville. Yes... "The Voice" is absolutely incredible.
@jdzack Tom Jones struggling in this.

Lol 😂 you know tom jones hung with janis joplin and wilson pickett and tina turner?
Chuck Berry was a guitar player who sang a bit.
Tom Jones was vocally on a different planet to Chuck Berry.

Sir Tom Jones & Chuck Berry!! It doesn't get any better than this!💯☝️❤️

Tom Jones is a freaking god. Even at 82, he still sounds amazing. And here, he sounds so good
❤

Sounds and looks good at his age. And his voice has not changed. .
At birth, God touched certain infants souls and gave them a beautiful singing voice. Tom Jones is one of those souls.
Regardless of what kind of music you are into, how can this song not
have your toes tappin and finger snappin!
