i always thought it was weird that there's no footage of them online, seeing as they're one of the more popular crust bands. thanks for putting this up.
the only part of this shot in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania was the intro. The actual song is from a show at c squat in New York City's lower east side may 14th 1999.
Ok ok. I agree with you on the modern day poser punk. However, some of us still exist that get it. Our lives don't necessarily suck and we aren't underprivileged. We do things about the shit we don't like. All the "punks" I know don't really dress abnormally. Because punk is freedom of expression. Another "real punk" isn't going to judge you for not have plad pants that have patches sewn on with dental floss.
Amen brother. Real punk exists in the heart. Its about fighting for what you believe in. Its about unity with your brothers. "He's a different color but we're the same kid, I will treat him like my brother he will treat me like his" -Avenue and Alleyways by Rancid. Rancid is my favorite band. Some will say that they're not really "punk", but if you look at the things Tim Armstrong sings about, it about his own life and his struggles. And he speaks of that unity, and he fought for what he believed in. And I don't believe it get anymore real than that.
This is like 2 years late but thanks bro. I like punk music and always will. I don't not have the punk rock look with vests and homemade patches of whatever bands out there but I do stand for what I believe in. A true punk would help out a brother in need and try to make peace happen in the world. It's all we need
I have heard that since 1980...yet it still seems as thought people have a lot to say and really don't give a fuck about playing pretty music. Long live punk rock!
Punk isnt just a type of music. It is more of an attitude. All the old school punk legends moved on to do different things. Doesnt mean they changed their entire persona. It means they progressed which is natyral for Musicians. Take the Band TSOL, probably one of my favs from the genre, every album they released was a diff style. Same for rotten with PIL which was far more interesting than anyhing he was doing with the Pistols.
@InfantSuffering besides playing warp tour what is so poser about casualties they have been around since like 90 playing along side the pist/submachine/aus rotten/distraught ,on and on.
@kingnat2 riiiiiight. you're the kind of person who calls someone a sellout if they get ANY FORM of popularity. I used to think like that, but graduated. How are bands supposed to become known without any popularity? How is punk rock in general supposed to catch on with the kids if it stays where it is -- a few youtube videos with a couple views?
haha jorge has been his thing for dam near 30 years people still talk shit.they make enuff to pay the rent there not banking.i guess its impossible to have spiky hair and not be called fashion punk.a FASHION punk is only in it for the fashion.
@wolfservant5 bcuz the casualties are actually kinda sucky i like em too but you they don't have mutch depth in their songs and nofx really kinda does i a fun way plus people don't need to make fun of nofx they do that themselves ;)
@ramonemeister Yea i only like it when they had colin and jorge singing...If it wasnt for crass bands like this wouldnt be around...Yet they have Crass shirt's at hot topic it's a shame !
@ramonemeister man i cant bag on em for that warped was a buncha punks when it started it just turned bad, theyre trying to keep warped punk and i might not like hot topic but if some one wanted to hand you a big sum of cash just to give em some of your shirts youd do it
@yootubesucks123 what's your point? The original members of Crass lost all the rights to the name and label. "Crass" is just another name to put on a t-shirt. The original members are still doing everything they talked about, living on the Crass Farm and what not. Funny thing is the only way you would know if they sold 'crass' shirts at hot topic is if you went in there, to have a look?
@RoCkThE40ozzzz I just did, and I don't see exactly how they killed punk or how they are just ignorant snobs. Not saying whether they are, or aren't I'm just ignorant to the story. By the way, I know this is off topic, but would you know a few good modern day punk bands? I know a good deal, but they're nearly worn out, I'm curious about a few from this century. I can think of suburban hostage, and red flag 77 and thats all really, Idk how old adolescents are.
ya the casualties got it right its hard to change things so just give up and spend all you time doing your hair. i think every one should give up when change comes slowly mean shit Nelson Mandela should have given up after sitting in jail for years
the whole idea of punk fashion is to go against the other fashions and expectations. kind of like a LOOK AT ME, FUCK YOU ,LOOK AT ME kind of thing...catch my drift
@alastairmctavish Fuck i never knew that...thats wack though.. nausea is like my favorite crust punk band and they sell that shit there... ?thats lame ive never seen it though i just looked it up online..
@yootubesucks123 Oh well. I mean, you don't have to buy it . I'll still listen to them, but it's just slightly stomache turning when you see a prep student walking around with tripp skinny jeans and a crass t.
@yootubesucks123 Trolling ftw? Punk is a lyfstyle because its more then jsut music. its about starting a community in the underground with people that are sick of they way things are being run, usually with anarcho beliefs, anti-sexism etc. leftest beliefs... You cannot tell me taht the people that have spent their life in the punk culture that squat and live on the streets to avoid the way that their "supposed" to live is just music. but as far as green day n other pop bands, thats just music.
@clashcityrockuh dude chill out haha someone compared aus rotten to the casualties and i hate them. i agree theyre street punk and i hate charged gbh anyway so i threw that out there. youre right im not the master of punk music but i know enough to know what i like and dont like
I have talent as an artist, not as a musician. I have cartooned for comics ---on a professional, paid level--for years, and have also produced pro-level cartoon drawings for animated movies. I recently had a 6-page spread published. NOW tell me I have no talent!
Punk isnt what you wear, that's fashion, and to tell you the truth that concept is what ruined the whole thing anyway. Being a punk is just being yourself (an individual) and independent. The original dogma of the whole scene was free thinking and open mindedness. Which is contradicted by the fan-boys who cry-out "sell-out!" if just one thing is different. Ironically for a movement that preached freedom and having an open mind are some of the most hard headed and closed minded ppl alive lol.
@anarchysoldier666 i see what your saying but nofx kinda is anti punk. Their beliefs at least. Not anti but more or less nmerely not punk. And lol i guess, (i dont mind their music but their a joke.) i love aus rotten but i really can never see teh casualties as sucky, i can see what your saying about hardly being any depth in it but its a signature sound
i dont beleive you have to dress anyway to like music, i dress however i want and listen to everything. i think people get too obsessed about the scene and the fashion and firget the music itself. but yeah, you'll look a bit dumb in a tuxedo if you're attending a thrashmetal show. it would be hilarious though.
I'm just saying, if all you're doing is listening to the music and dressing the part, you really don't have an understanding of what punk rock is all about.
@yootubesucks123 Yea, some do, some dont. Some bands stay underground, play small shows, and donate there money to the community. Mabye look into some anarcho folk punk bands. And it doesent matter if their making a profit off of it, as long as their giving back to the community in any way. of course there arre idiot fans along with idiot bands. but there are also the ones taht are trying to make a diffrience.Take a look into bands like ghost mice. and tell me bands dont make squatin a lifestyle
i always thought it was weird that there's no footage of them online, seeing as they're one of the more popular crust bands. thanks for putting this up.
This band was incredible, live and studio, and great lyrics.
the only part of this shot in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania was the intro. The actual song is from a show at c squat in New York City's lower east side may 14th 1999.
I was thinking that didn't look like them in 93.
Great footage. Thank you for posting!
Thanks.

This is fuckin awesome, and the date was even before i was alive!
These guys are so Fuckin' awesome!
why do people make fun of the casualties, their one of my favorite bands. How come not enough bands make fun of nofx as opposed to the casualties.
Ya I’d rather make fun of nofx. Casualties were decent but the were never on aus rotten level
@Tin Adamovic: Tuesday, May 18, 1993. That's the name of the song.
By far one of the most influential crust/anarcho-punk bands for the past 15 years.
Early 90's:)
kudos
SOOOOOO...FUCKING...GOOOOOOD
Aus rotten is what punk used to be in the day
In the words of Henry Rollins, a band sells out the moment they don't make the record they want to make, but the record they're TOLD to make.
"listen"

You're so cool. Pleas tell us about all of your other accessories!
@ramonemeister yes!
@rabsmiff Awesome - give a link to some of your films and articles...
i was born 12 days before
Does anyone else think George sounds like Darby Crash? Haha
@RoCkThE40ozzzz What about a good dead kennedies feeling, or a minor threat feeling styled bands that still play?
Disorder, Aus-Rotten, Conflict and Crass are some of the best political bands in my opinion. Punk Rock: music with a message.
When music is you're life you'll buy a fucking sick bass!
I'm pretty sure bga opened this show
you will find out..... hope soon as possible

I have heard that since 1980...yet it still seems as thought people have a lot to say and really don't give a fuck about playing pretty music. Long live punk rock!

@InfantSuffering besides playing warp tour what is so poser about casualties they have been around since like 90 playing along side the pist/submachine/aus rotten/distraught ,on and on.
@RoCkThE40ozzzz Sry im responding in sections, but I don't see the casualties doing it for the money? I mean I don't see how they are.
@kingnat2
riiiiiight. you're the kind of person who calls someone a sellout if they get ANY FORM of popularity. I used to think like that, but graduated. How are bands supposed to become known without any popularity? How is punk rock in general supposed to catch on with the kids if it stays where it is -- a few youtube videos with a couple views?

@InfantSuffering This video is made by Casualties people, and casualties are not crust, i dont understand your comentary.
@rabsmiff I'm not giving out my real name, but I can certainly point you in the direction of my published stuff.
@wolfservant5 bcuz the casualties are actually kinda sucky i like em too but you they don't have mutch depth in their songs and nofx really kinda does i a fun way plus people don't need to make fun of nofx they do that themselves ;)
Heaven forbid someone actually try to be able to feed themselves doing what they love.

@yootubesucks123 what's your point? The original members of Crass lost all the rights to the name and label. "Crass" is just another name to put on a t-shirt. @yootubesucks123 I know, Im ashamed to say it but I've actually gotten cd's there...
The vocalist looks like Mike O'Malley.
How can you call a group that are playing punk music and looking like we used to 25 years ago, costume punk? Do they love the music they play?
ehhh, our city is the same as any other big one
@hery12
really? interesting lol
@RoCkThE40ozzzz I just did, and I don't see exactly how they killed punk or how they are just ignorant snobs. Not saying whether they are, or aren't I'm just ignorant to the story. kind of like a LOOK AT ME, FUCK YOU ,LOOK AT ME kind of thing...catch my drift
Someone just told me that "punk is dead"...is that true?
@alastairmctavish Fuck i never knew that...thats wack though.. nausea is like my favorite crust punk band and they sell that shit there... ?thats lame ive never seen it though i just looked it up online..

@yootubesucks123 Oh well. I mean, you don't have to buy it . I'll still listen to them, but it's just slightly stomache turning when you see a prep student walking around with tripp skinny jeans and a crass t.

JAUAJAAUJjjjauajau.
PUNKIZ DE POSTAL!!!
I have talent as an artist, not as a musician. I have cartooned for comics ---on a professional, paid level--for years, and have also produced pro-level cartoon drawings for animated movies. I recently had a 6-page spread published. NOW tell me I have no talent!

And lol i guess, (i dont mind their music but their a joke.) i love aus rotten but i really can never see teh casualties as sucky, i can see what your saying about hardly being any depth in it but its a signature sound
I do politics but not punk politics like who is punk and who isn't and who is a sellout
@RonnyVain89 I don't think that at all. He willingly donates money to Drug Free America. A corparatist and relgious organization.
@InfantSuffering If you arent crust you are not punk????
@Mastafly7 No just mean's you like a variety of punk band's people who think that are dumb n just like to stick to a gay little sub-genre of punk
jaja this is funny butt why are they making fun of the casulties
you definitly dont have to shop at hot topic to be punk
Way to much punk politics in these comments :/
i dont beleive you have to dress anyway to like music, i dress however i want and listen to everything. i think people get too obsessed about the scene and the fashion and firget the music itself. but yeah, you'll look a bit dumb in a tuxedo if you're attending a thrashmetal show.
it would be hilarious though.
I'm just saying, if all you're doing is listening to the music and dressing the part, you really don't have an understanding of what punk rock is all about.
Perhaps that's why they're poor?
