  • HOW TO.....
    So you're building your own pond right, nice bit of a DIY pond project?
    Dont waste money on any other ball valves or slide valves, get double union ball valves for your DIY pond build.
    Make sure they are installed the correct way to allow easy adjustment of the ball part should it need adjusting ever, or becomes leaky.

      I have two more of them that will get a video complete strip and rebuild including how to remove solvent welded pipe from the fittings and making the fittings fit for reuse. To be filmed When the out side pond stuff slows down in the winter and the fish are under cover

      boxtriker mmmm them comer valves ain’t the best I’m my opinion can be hard to operate if unions are on tight, I could of supplied some cepex industrial valves much better quality

    Question. For the bottom drain going vertical if you fit it so the arrow points to the filter and it leakes the notched end is at the bottom so how would you then adjust???

    Thanks for the tip, My 4" valve was very stiff to turn so now know what to do. Thanks 😀👍

    Hi Great informative video. Just to be clear the arrow is not necessarily the direction of flow because if it is then on my new 4” valves the adjustment would be on the inlet to the valve from the pond? Thanks for a reply.

    If your set up is bottom drain then filter, then surely you want it the other way round otherwise when you disconnect the valve it will be the pond side that drains away not the filter??

  • @LubaLuba1
    @LubaLuba1 Рік тому

    You need to say the arrow is water flows in that direction or opposite because if you pointer is towards filter pump it could mean it’s a return to pool or return to filter this is not clear.

    What if it is after the pond and before the filter i would loose all the water in the pond if it pointed to the filter wouldnt i?

    • @koidiaries
      @koidiaries  5 років тому +3

      You can put the valve where you like but but ideally before the filter as it will allow you to remove the filter for any reason if needed and not having to empty pond then its about making sure the end with the adjustment part is the end pointing away from the pond, this allows adjustment without losing pond water. Hope that makes sense

      @@koidiaries No because you then can’t get to the adjuster because it’s holding the pond water in. Surely loosing filter water so you can then remove filter then remove pipe work from valve to filter. Thus allowing access to the adjuster. I can’t get my head round your logic. Sorry if I’m wrong. 👍🏻

    Hello buddy, watching this upload and I dunno if I'm working this out wrong, but if I have the valve after my bottom drain before the nexus and its facing the nexus when I turn the ball valve off it will be facing the wrong way for me to tighten it as if I undone the end with with the tighten part there won't be anything stopping the water from the bottom drain so if its before the filter it work the opposite side to what you said and if it after the filter it works that way.
    I dunno if I've got this all wrong but hope you can help me out as it kinda got me over thinking I think.

    • @koidiaries
      @koidiaries  3 роки тому +2

      Mate youve confused me lol it basically means if you have to adjust the ball valve you'll only lose the water from the filter, not drain the pond down to the level of the ball valve. TBH as long as the valve is adjusted if needed at the install stage it wont need tightening or losening, mines been on 10 years and been fine and not needed adjusting

      @@koidiaries 😂😂😂 sorry I was just watching the video and was thinking I need to put the ball valve from the bottom drain to the nexus so I can stop the water going from drain to filter.
      But if I have the valve facing the filter the adjustable side with be facing the bottom drain.
      So when I turn the valve off and un screwed the adjustable part all my water would just leak out cause nothing will be stopping it.
      Hope you can help me out with this 👍👍
