Through your course, I got from knowing absolutely nothing and picking up a guitar for the first time to being able to play this already in just 2 months :D Thanks a lot Justin, this is genuinely one of the best services I've ever seen online. Keep up the great work.
+FuguKing im getting a guitar now just to learn this song : ) , but why 2 months ? im thinking 30 min every day and in a week or two should be alright .
+Dominykas Andrasiunas Well yeah if all you want to learn and focus on is this song then sure you'd be able to learn it in a few days maybe. But when learning guitar I'd say it's better to have a natural progression and learning curve. And I urge you to strive for this aswell, the fact that you have to leave your 3rd and 4th finger on the same strings over the course of the whole song might give you problems as a beginner for instance, but I guess it should be doable. I mean ofc you can start with Wonderwall and by all means you should if you really want to, it's not that hard of a song after all. But do try to go for some diversity and try to constantly improve on your skills and explore techniques and other songs. It's cool if you wanting to play Wonderwall is what inspired you to play guitar, but don't just leave it at that. What I'm saying here is basically learn Wonderwall so that you can learn guitar, don't learn guitar so that you can learn Wonderwall.

Justin, I started learning guitar in April of this year just after lockdown here in Angola. You have been fundamental in finding my new love for this instrument and I practice for at least 4 hours a day and know most of my favourite Coldplay and other band songs through your lessons. I play and sing along and my progress has been tremendous! You're a exceptional teacher!!
Hey Justin! You probably won't see this, but I just wanted to give a huge shout out for all your awesome content. My partner is really into music and to surprise her for my proposal I learned to sing (at least tried to) and also play her late mum's classical guitar using your videos, including how to do both at the same time. I did this song but made my own lyrics to it. She totally said yes and was gobsmacked. She brought me a beautiful new acoustic for my 30th just recently and I'm so excited to really get stuck into it. Thanks heaps my man, you've sparked my burning passion for guitar!
Years ago when I first tried playing this I could not figure out the strum pattern on my own and it was frustrating and I had basically given up trying to figure it out . One day I was working on a construction job and there was some dry wall guys nearby that had a radio playing Wonderwall and it suddenly hit me like an epiphany. I suddenly just knew the pattern by listening to the song . I could not wait to get home and pick up my guitar to play it .The day seemed so long but when I finally got home and played it I was amazed at how well I played it. It was amazing how it just came to me
I hope Elon Musk put a copy of this lesson on the hard drive inside the Spaceman Tesla car they launched into space, because this is one of the finest guitar lessons ever. Great job! We're lucky to have you here on Earth 🚀
15:00 that "one last little thing" really is the secret! And the first upstroke on the A sets it up perfectly to sound like a nice bouncy rhythm from A, to open, to Em which wouldn't appear otherwise.
I purchased both of your books, I'm a little irritated that the chords in the book are not what you're teaching in this tutorial. However, I do appreciate what you do, Justin. This is literally the first song I chose to learn and it's not easy to follow along with.

Now I see why everyone recommends you for beginners, you make it so easy to learn and your approach makes it very understandable. Thanks very much for teaching everyone
I saw Marty Music’s video on how to play wonders all but all he thought you were the chords, he didn’t really tell you how to strum, thank you so much! I’m learning this song for me and my girlfriend’s 1 year anniversary
Justin, i love that you go so in depth and slow I hate that all the tutors that I have watched go really fast and don't really show what you play a lot of the time you can't really see the chords they are playing. Thanks
Without Justin, there is no guitar.... I think a lot of UA-cam viewers, myself included, owe this awesome dude a beer..... Than you for all the awesome lessons. I have just signed up to you website and am making my way through Grade 2. I could not recommend this man highly enough to anyone wanting to learn.
As a beginner.... Other UA-cam channels : yeah the strumming pattern is so and so. Justin : spends half the video for strumming. Thanks Justin .... First song that I learnt
Oohh man. Luv the push of your voice up to that higher register. And great how you just teach the chords slowly, then add the strumming pattern once the basics are down. Really good job! (Trying to work this thru w a beginner and you show the way😊)
Every boring strumming guitarist maybe. Plenty of people I know and myself included, started with 'Blackbird' by The Beatles, and progressed onto complicated finger picking.
This is brilliant and easy to follow. I've only been playing a few weeks and I find the fretting of the chords so difficult. Sometimes the fingers just won't go where I want them to. But I'll keep practicing and trying. I know I'm never going to be great at guitar, but it's fun trying to improve!!
Has anyone ever told you you look like Norm Macdonald in his prime? Thanks for this you learned me the song all the way over in Columbus Ohio! God bless ya and keep up the fantastic work!!!!
This guy is gold and its helping me a lot. I have only just started but I might be able to play a song soon. I tried other things but didn't gain anything. Other than sore fingers, wear as justin is actually teaching us to play.
Excellent lesson! Really challenged me to work more on my strumming. Over the years, since I started playing lead,,,it appears I've gotten 'lazy' with my rhythm. Appreciate your spirit. Thank you!
The first tutorial I watched. I couldn't keep the hand moving with the song. With this pattern I can. Thanks so much, 🙏 it really is a beautiful song once you play it
I have to say that this song is easy and fun to play. Im so obsess with the strumming and it was quite difficult when i first started learning this song in addition to singing it (I had difficulty with coordination) but other than that the strumming makes this song really unique.
That is a hard strumming pattern to do smoothly and then to sing at the same time is going to take some practice for sure but I am getting there Thanks for posting :-)
Merry Christmas to all! Hoping for Happy Holidays for everyone! Of course, (with the capo) adding the "D" on 2nd string, 3rd fret does make the first chord an Em7. Phil from beautiful Talking Rock, Georgia, USA.
Hey man thanks! I just started playing about 9 months ago but I don't really have a ton of time to dedicate to playing due to school and work, I have kinda been stuck practicing on just a few songs for the last few months, I found your page 2 days ago and I have added 2 songs including this one to my songs that I can play now. These videos are great man you make it easy. I was able to play this song after about 20 mins of practicing the strumming patterns!
Justin says to write down the chords and take a note of up strokes and down stroke. I tried doing this but believe me, buying his book and having it all in front of you is a lot easier. Wonderwall is in his beginners songbook 2nd edition. Money well spent in my opinion
I think this is the only lesson where is really original rhythm, i learn something about 3 rhythms but i hear they werent same as in the song. and finally, this is it. Thank you so much !
Thank you so much!! You have a way of teaching that I haven't seen anywhere else, it really feels like its 1 on 1 lessons!! Keep up the awesome videos :)
I am so glad I looked at this! On the app it doesn’t show keeping fingers 3 and 4 in place for the whole song so I’ve been trying to play the chords moving from one to the other as shown in the diagrams. (Incidentally the diagrams are different than the picture of the hand above them.). This is going to make things so much easier! It would be great if you would fix the app version to reflect this.
I keep looking through different youtube guitar teachers and it really perplexes me to why no one writes the strumming pattern in the description or shows it on the video as a image

Another great version of this is capo on the 3rd fret, strum slower using down down down, down up down, Hammer on the D hammer on and pull of and again on the A, this is Noel's version and can sing it a lot softer
