Patrick Bateman nothing major, just the overwhelming feeling that I can never relive moments. Every time I hear this song it’s like a time machine to many years back to when I’d listen to this every day. Times with no pandemic, or stress, times from long ago that remind me just how precious life really is. You really never realize how fast it passes except in hindsight. Once it’s gone, there’s no getting it back so cherish every moment :)

My dad died in September and this was played at his funeral. For a while I couldn't listen to this song because it was too painful but now I listen to it and think of all the things we did together. We had our first holiday together last summer and just 2 months after that, I was walking towards his coffin in a crematorium as this song played. I have the memories of our time together on holiday and this song will always remind me of him.

Yeah... About my take on it too. Bit like Harrison reckons he never wrote "Something in the way she Moves" for *Patti Boyd Harrison* after they split up....
Nope. That’s just how a lot of people interpret it. In reality it’s basically gibberish. Noel had the melody for the chorus, and he had up until ‘after all,’ but he couldn’t think of anything to go with it. He was stuck with it for ages. One day he was at a party and someone asked him what the album was called and he just said ‘wonderwall’ as a joke, because George Harrison has an album called Wonderwall. He suddenly realised it went with his chorus, so he went into another room and wrote it down. That’s where the lyric comes from. It really doesn’t mean anything, apart from what you want it to mean. It’s just a reference. If anything it means ‘you are my masterpiece,’ because Noel views all Beatles works as masterpieces. It’s sort of like saying ‘you are my magnum opus’ or ‘you are my Canon in D,’ meaning you’re the greatest thing I ever did.

This song always makes me think if an old friend of mine. Back when I was in middle school, my best friend and I used to sing this song all the time. We were in PE class together and there was a sheet-thing that would lower down to divide the gym in two for class. It sort of looked like a wall once it was fully rolled out. One day she saw it being lowered and just started singing Wonderwall. Within a week, we both knew all the lyrics. Every day when it was lowered down we would sing the song together, and it sort of became our song. We would always sing it on the last day of each school year or whenever we walked back into the middle school gym. Sounds kind of dumb and random, but it was a song we both knew that always brought back happy memories. We carried it with us all the way through middle school and even high school. We grew apart over the years, but every time I hear this song I still think of her.
Anyway-
That's my random story about this song. I know that nobody probably cares, but that's okay. If you read this far, thanks for listening to my rambling😂

Deep song for me. My best friend passed at 44 yrs old. I knew him since 10yrs old. A neighborood friend as children. Ultimately cancer took him just a few months after diagnosis. He lived with CMT a type of muscular dystrophy. A life of big bulky leg foot braces, an altered walk, lots of daily pain and many surgeries even losing toes to infections. . He never seem to let it break his spirit and he did everything most normal kids and men would do even though it would have consequences. He also lived the life of pain medication because he had no choice. It started to take his happy spirit near the end but drugs thru his life were his goto if they were there. 420 was a savior for him. Though most times the opiates just made him feel normal as opposed to being high.
I never felt animosity towards him for being an addict. He didn't present himself or ever really showed signs of it. His tolerance was too great. Those were the cards he was dealt.. These days I realize it wasn't the feel better drugs but his bright happy spirit that was his wonderwall. It saved him.
God bless their family! Prayers to them!

The problem of todays music industry is that they don't produce songs like this anymore. Every song in the todays charts is fogettable, you hear one two months and after that nobody can really remember it. But songs like this lasting forever. Oldschool tune nostalgia aside, this song is far from being a masterpiece, it simply has lasting mass appeal - which, in fact, might make it a masterpiece, in a way.
I was 17 in 1995 when this song got released. Grade 12. I still remember listening to it in my first beat up car on my way to school. I really miss the 90s, things were so simple.

They were great times... I was only a kid but I can tell you they were amazing times especially growing up in it and being in grade school at that time. It’s weird to have seen how time has changed things, you never think things are going to really change when you’re young, least that’s what I believed.
