Elvis, with Scotty , Bill and DJ. This is as classic as it gets. Throw in anyone from the Beatles, or the Stones, or Dylan. They will all say that this is it. Long live The King.
Scotty Moore is the King of Rockabilly Guitar! Besides being so magnetic, Scotty was such a talented, wonderful and humble man. R.I.P. WINFIELD SCOTT "SCOTTY" MOORE
I can barely remember Elvis being on TV, what I remember most was my paternal grandmother's words of disgust but she watched Elvis every time he was on TV!
This was shot in May 1956. 6 years before I started serving aboard The Hancock. We hosted the Tennessee Ernie Ford show when I was aboard. I didn't know that Elvis had performed on the Ship .
USS Hancock (CV/CVA-19) was one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built during World War II for the United States Navy. The ship was the fourth US Navy ship to bear the name, and was named for John Hancock, president of the Second Continental Congress and first governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
I think around the 1:00 mark Elvis busted the bottom string on his guitar and at the 1:10-1:16 mark you can see him yanking it out of the way. If you look closely you can see it dangling from the guitar for the rest of the performance..
Elvis . this vid shows why he was called Elvis the pelvis. Elvis shows why he is the king of rock and roll. here he is before the drugs in his prime. He was never the same after he got out of the army; that is when the downfall began
What I don't understand is why Elvis, Scotty and Bill as the Blue Moon Boys are still not taken up in Hall of Fame of Rock 'n Roll while they were at the birth of rock 'n roll. To my opinion it is very much time to take them up in this hall of fame. Are you all agree with me?
@@Flippie123 If any of them are still alive they would be very annoyed at you calling them soldiers and vice a versa. And the sailors still made plenty of noise especially during the guitar solos. By the way even in those days it was ok for men to find Elvis attractive. He looked so cool.
Interesting how Elvis played it here the way Carl Perkins wrote and recorded it originally, with the break between "money", "show", and the three beat riff, instead of how Elvis recorded it and normally played without the break. Paul McCartney said he always prefered Perkins version. I guess here we have the best of both!
There were high quality recordings made during his first run in Las Vegas in 1956, but it was an older crowd that wasn't *that* into him, so the reaction was a little subdued.
Milton Berle looks so funny, even funnier than me with an Elvis costume on. I just recorded this song today. I do Elvis like no one else. I sing & play bass guitar & do solos to his songs. Plus I look like him. I think I'm good enough to be an Elvis Impersonator playing shows when I get better. I will be in Las Vegas this year or at the beach singing w/ my acoustic bass. I'm not as good as Elvis, and I just started playing after 14 years off, but I can still do this. You think so?
Carl Perkins wrote this Song on the back of a brown paper bag, and he was the first man to sing it, but then he met with an accident, and RCA asked Elvis Presley to record it. Who remembers that Perkins wrote this song or that he was the first singer of this chart busting song. In fact, he did not know how to spell suede and spelt it swade!
Little did he know Sam Phillips was going to screw him over on the royalties, and Elvis's version was also going to be a hit, nowhere near as big as Carl's original version, but it's inclusion on various albums and Elvis doing it live on TV multiple times eventually became the bigger and most well known version. But he got half royalties for it, as it was only recorded by Elvis on the understanding that 50% royalties went to Elvis and his manager, this made them plus perkins a lot of money. Contrary to popular belief Elvis couldn't have recorded and released this song without express permission from the original songwriter, otherwise he'd have been sued.
This america, say hello to the new American front, one four 0h no, he’s gone, in the shadow of grey realms, believers, let’s step it atop, the American freedom pop Half of the song I got, and that’s how many decipher?

He did strum with an aggressive style so i'm not surprised it broke. Although I thought he would change guitars
Yep. That's a great rocking performance there because of breaking the string. I play hard, too.
+claudiob62 Are you sherlock holmes? haha, Yeh though the string he still played it cool!
At least that shows that he was actually playing. (Yes there are some deaf people out there who cant tell by listening that he was)
Gotta break it to prove you can make it! Legendary Elvis ❤️

Urgh! Why did I have to be born in the 90's :( Would have loved to meet Elvis! *sigh*
Its weird not hearing a bunch of girls screaming their heads off while he's singing as usual.
Because he is performing in front of a bunch of soldiers.
This shows once again that EVERYONE loved Elvis (not just the ladies). Has there ever been a more loved person?
