Growing up in Mexico, our dubs have been doing this since I can remember. DBZ, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon have had little pop culture references or localized jokes.
Well subs are basically to me lawful chaotic, very energetic and cartoony when they're reacting but their manner of speaking in conversation is usual calm and kinda slow like they're prolonging their "eto" and their "is that so?"s. So it feels like they're they have set rules. Most dubs nowadays are usually just chaotic chaos which I adore.

This anime is decibels on the realistic bizarre side, but the fact they don’t openly ship the two men raising the little girl makes this very interesting as it rests more on their personalities and backgrounds and how they deal with the day to day. It’s unique and frankly adorable and wholesome.
As someone who watched the sub, the dub on this one is actually pretty faithful dialogue wise. I just think the VAs just emphasized the chaos a little more, but in terms of what was said it’s pretty spot on.
did some math to see how much exactly it would be. if we say rei weighs 75kg/~165lbs and an ak-47 weighs 5kg/~11lbs when fully loaded, and a child around 3 or 4 years old (wasn't sure how old miri is exactly) weighs maybe 30kg/~66lbs, THAT MEANS MIZUKI CAN LIFT 110KG/~242lbs WHILE RUNNING AT FULL SPEED (not taking into account the recoil of the gun and the fact that's he's under attack too)!!

I forgot they cast David Matranga as Rei, so when I heard him speak I got the whiplash of my LIFE, literally did a 180 in my living room like "YOU?" Your "this reminds me of something..." and then immediate cut to Sk8 the Infinity sent me into orbit. Anyway I'm noticing a consistent trend of English dubs just ramping up the chaos factor to 11 (or perhaps their performances or rewritten english lines are just more appealing to english-as-a-first-language audiences?) and I am obsessed.
I can now see why I decided to watch this anime after finishing JoJo Vento Aureo. This gives me the “what if” vibes of Bucci going full on mom mode for the daughter of a gangster boss and some woman. And in the end, I am fully satisfied as Buddy Daddies completes my “Gangsters Paradise” experience. Rei sounds so dead inside, more than Saiki Kusuo. Its perfect. XD
The English Dub is 100% worth it. I usually hate dubs, but it is a very natural one. They use colloquialisms and the deadpan/hysteria combo is just hilarious.

Anyway I'm noticing a consistent trend of English dubs just ramping up the chaos factor to 11 (or perhaps their performances or rewritten english lines are just more appealing to english-as-a-first-language audiences?) and I am obsessed.
The "GROWN MAN DISCOVERS GRAVITY" got me laughing😂👍
I can now see why I decided to watch this anime after finishing JoJo Vento Aureo. This gives me the “what if” vibes of Bucci going full on mom mode for the daughter of a gangster boss and some woman. And in the end, I am fully satisfied as Buddy Daddies completes my “Gangsters Paradise” experience.
Rei sounds so dead inside, more than Saiki Kusuo. Its perfect. XD

The English Dub is 100% worth it. I usually hate dubs, but it is a very natural one. They use colloquialisms and the deadpan/hysteria combo is just hilarious.
