I have the 1:24 Fms FCX24 Max Smasher, Monster Truck. It's a full blown Big Foot replica thats why i bought it, its identical except for name maybe there was licensing issues. It also has 2 speeds, a 130 motor, metal gear portal axles, really soft monster truck tyres with no foam, they've excellent grip & Diffs are open. Its more than fast enough & comes with bag of O-ring for suspension so the shocks must be able to hold oil if filled
Lots of potential here, I really think it can be a game changer! My only concern is that FMS has a reliable distributor with good parts support (I'm sure the aftermarket will come to the rescue, as well) That being said, looks like FMS has raised the bar in 1/24-scale! 👍
One of the best in 1:24 scale. Well, the wheel base could be a bit longer, but it runs well as it is. Only thing I've modified so far was to load the both axles with some lead plates to drop down the center of gravity and to increase the grip.
This is the first "1/24th" scale to have the features of both portals aaand a two-speed, but either features were already available on the Panda RC Tetra24 X3 and Kuro King 1/24, respectively =)
The 2 speed trans got me, used your link and bought a red one. I'll have to come up with a custom bed but otherwise the truck should look great along with my atlas, k10, hilux and wrangler.
Is it me, or is the body basically the same as on the atlas 6x6, and the tires identical to the mogrich? I like the 2 speed, as we take our fms models to the beach, so there are times that more wheel speed would be nice.
The truck has potential but the weak parts are the axles and electronics. The portals and diffs are plastic. Adding weight with tires, rims, and actual weights will torture these axles. This and the cheap electronics are known failure points in FMS and its sister companies. Also the steering set up seems very weak. Hopefully the aftermarket comes hard at this vehicle to improve it. But it's a great intro rig into 1/24 (but the size is actually 1/18).
Good to know. I'm pretty sure metal gears for the axles will be coming out but I'm not sure about the 2 speed gearbox. Solid hop up parts from both FMS and other aftermarket companies will be essential if this truck is going to go head to head with the SCX24, and appeal to the hard core crawler guys. Time will tell.
can you run more than one at the same time? With budget models sometimes, though 3 colors are available, the ability to run them simultaneously isn't always there. with 2 boys and i in the house, it could be fun to have Yard Competitions
At a glance it sure looks like you could but I don't know for sure. Driveshaft is definitely bigger on the 1/18 scale chassis' but not sure if the pinion shaft is the same size. Haven't seen anyone do it yet though but it would be great if you would put the portals on that Unimog.
Can someone tell me what type of plug is on the battery? It's not JST of PH2. I have nothing like it and would like to make an adapter so I can use my real charger rather than the little thing that came with it. Just received mine and looking forward to testing it out. The body clips are a bit of a PITA, but guess I'll get used to them. Seems like every RC I get has a different plug! Geesh! I wish we could standardize these things a bit so I didn't need twenty different adapters, and/or so limited on the batteries that will work. Also need to know the battery plug type so I can try to find a spare with the correct plug. I HATE trying to swap plugs on these tiny wires!
That's a good question. They're common on micro RC stuff but I don't know the name. Usually searching micro RC battery connector brings them up. I can't seem to find a charger cable that's compatible with these batteries. I have one which I bought years ago but can't find any available online. Weird. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Weight will break this but it could not even mount the first easy rock on the course that my scx24s run all over due to poor if any grip. I'm about to throw mine into a lake.
@@MakeItRC ok thank you for the response in thinking about getting the square body I've got about 30 re vehicles right now but you can never have enough

damn i missed your give away by a day but I subscribed 🤦♂🤷♀
Thanks for subscribing. No worries about the giveaway, that hasn't happened yet. Keep an eye on the community tab for updates. 👍
Scale look loving guy here. Thank for the scale comparison.

I agree. Aftermarket support will be a big factor in it's success.
Painting the rims black and having a Silver or semi dark gray body would look good. A military green and tan rims would also look good.
The cab is nice, the back is wanting. A wooden bed or something like that might look nicer.
I agree though the short wheelbase could make it a challenge to add a bed that looks right.
Nice truck from Fms I was hoping some time you'd do a video on a power wagon . Great video .😄😄

That thing is way to cool

Love the videos keep it up

Now you just need to transfer a gearbox in one of your other, better looking crawlers.
Great detailed review. Thanks. I have one on the way. 👍
Nice! I'm still loving the FCX24 platform. 👍
The back story infact hold's history
Cool video but you forgot to mention that you are supplied o-rings so you can put iol in the shocks !!!
True. It's hard to remember to include everything sometimes but you do have that option. There are also some spring pre-load spacers included as well.
Awesome I'm ordering one!
I will be getting my yellow Power Wagon today...I just 'subbed'
Appreciate your sharing, I got the red one and got to take it with me up to Silverlake Sandune’s lake Michigan wow had a blast with it
FMS will be the next king of scale @makeitrc
The first 1:24 with a two speed gearbox actually
In the RC world it is a short wheelbase 1:18
This looks like a nice rig. I want to pick one up soon. I’m interested to see if the aftermarket embraces it the way they did the SCX24.
There are a lot of upgrades to be had for this little truck...
Is it me, or is the body basically the same as on the atlas 6x6, and the tires identical to the mogrich? I like the 2 speed, as we take our fms models to the beach, so there are times that more wheel speed would be nice.
I believe it is. I know for sure the wheels are the same as the Mogrich.
I like your video nice job on the micro rc ..

@@MakeItRC the gear box (at least the one I seen broke down) was all plastic gears minus the motor pinion. That looked like brass.

I really want to see a custom on this chassis
Great review!
Thank you 👍
Nice review 👌
Having bad luck. Do you have any idea where I can get a front drive shaft for it? Fms had ignored me for quite some time!! Thanks❤
I think some body swapping may be in order.
Can I get parts for this truck when it breaks down
Is this thing 3S capable?
The C24 1 KM also has 2 speeds. Only KM edition.
Good Videos Always Given By @makeitrc
Do the axles appear to be compatible with FMS other rigs? Like the K10?

It would look really good if you put a Chevy or Ford Body on it and make it like a mud truck
If I get one of these I'll put a diecast body on it.
Weight will break this but it could not even mount the first easy rock on the course that my scx24s run all over due to poor if any grip. I'm about to throw mine into a lake.
When is the comparison
Are they waterproof
I don't think so. I didn't read anywhere that said they were waterproof.

They should have made it "DOGED"
Tall and short...Odd.

This would be a cool truck to have @makeitrc
*This couldn't do our course out of the box but with two mods it became a beast.🛻🪨👍
