    Loving this series! If there's one suggestion that I'd make, if you're interested in constructive criticism (and if not, please ignore this!), regarding improving your video skills in front of the camera it would be to speak a little more loudly and/or clearly and/or slowly. Between the background noise of wind and traffic and so on (which you can't do anything about) and your naturally lower register speaking voice, it was difficult to hear you sometimes unless I turned up my volume, which was then much too loud during the mowing. It's not a big issue! Just one of those things that people who don't do a lot of public speaking don't think about. I know you were sick (I hope you're feeling better!) but I noticed it in your previous episodes as well so I thought I'd mention it. ♥

      Thanks for the feedback! I think I need to get a microphone really to attach to my shirt or something if I am going to keep making these videos in the future. I am not the most confident in front of the camera tbh! Thanks for watching! (Shane)

    Oh I hope you feel better soon!
    Not sure what kind of animal but perhaps fox, rabbit, or groundhogs if they exist in your region? If you put one of those motion activated cameras up you might be able to find out who is inspecting the tilling! 😅
    I would like to think the weather there is similar to my region (northeast Ohio) but your planting season starts a bit later? This year I've planted strawberries, 2 kinds of cucumbers (one for pickling), a few varieties of peppers and tomatoes, parsley, Hamburg parsley, lovage, sorrel, and kale. Plant what you like and don't be afraid to experiment! Sometimes I've found that plants that are harvestable earlier to place them along the outer perimeter so you don't have to struggle to get to it. Also, if you try to grow a plant that is a climber/sprawler, to get a trellis or some kind of support structure to get the vines off the ground and in the air. It'll be easier to spot the vegetable/fruit and you'll have an easier time watering the soil and not the leaves.

    • @acreslawncare
      @acreslawncare  Місяць тому +2

      We think rabbits, no ground hogs or racoon ls over here! Ah sounds like your having a good harvest, thanks for watching!

    I AM SO HAPPY TO BE BACK IN THE ALLOTMENT! Seriously - I have a raised bed garden in my backyard and I love nothing more than watching other people talk about and work on their gardens too (unless it's talking to other folks about my own, and then they tell me about theirs!) :D

    If you don’t get a move on it you won’t be able to plant anything. That’s a great cultivator and the cardboard will be great as well. I’d get a pond pump for aeration. Then you won’t have too much green stuff in there

    Rabbits for sure, you can see at the lower section where they have tried to borrow. If you're going to fence them make sure it's quite hi, if not make more of a cover as the little fluffy chappies will just get in. Chances are the pand cover has just dropped due to not been supported by the over growth anymore 👍

    May you heal from your cold quickly. Thank you for taking us with you to build your final boxes & tidy up everything…it’s really looking good. If that digging was where I live in south central Texas it could be an armadillo, skunk or opossum. Kept waiting to watch you eat some of your yummy looking figs. We’re in a severe drought so only got one (1!!) on our tree this year. 😢 can’t wait to see updates as your plants grow and produce.

    Suspicious that it could be foxes, not sure since we are in different countries. Here in the USA, Oregon to be exact I'd be looking at Racoons first then perhaps foxes. They both would dig holes and be after any fish or just the water in your pond. Ask anyone else that has a plot if they are having trouble. You might try a animal repellent around your beds and pond. Best of luck, this is a fun project. Looking forward to more. Watching from Oregon USA. ❤❤❤

    We also have this at my allotment , can be fox’s , cats or sometimes badgers, if you cut some brambles down cut them into 12 inch strip and lay them on the bed and it deterred them from digging. 🤞

    Possibility of feral cats or dogs having a good dig in your new beds. Where i live,iguanas, possums and raccoons like to do stuff like that,but you don't have those in the UK. Hoping whoever or whatever is doing this doesn't attack your new plants.
