I have the K-Ultra and I'm very satisfied with it. I can only compare it to a rocket fausto with 65mm burrs. It takes me about 30sec. to grind 18gr. of espresso beans; use it multiple times every day. I enjoy your channel 🙂 Keep going!

One reason for the foldable/collapsible handle is for a lower center of gravity, so it is less likely to be knocked down. Although avoiding the legal action from another company probably have a huge part on the redesign. And comes with a little bit extra space saving is a plus anyway.

I bought a K-Pro two years ago, and I am still very, very happy with it. The new handle with the joint is probably not meant to help with travelling or storing, but to make the grinder more stable while putting it on the table with the handle attached what is almost impossible with my "old" K-Pro, it will just tip over. I put some adhesive thick felt on the bottom of my grinder (normally used for the legs of chairs or tables not to scratch the floor) so I can knock it on the counter after grinding. Also if you store the grinder, just take off the handle and put it with the wooden handle top on top of the grinder haging down at the side, the handle will hold and it will take very little space. My zero point is exactly at the mark 0 so espresso is around 3, Aeropress at 7 and pour over at 8-9. Instead of timing, I think, it would be more comparable if you would count the rotations while grinding. Really like your channel!

Thank you very much. K grinders are definitely very good. Never had any problems with stability. I think the new handle is just a gimmick but might be wrong. As for 0 poin, I set it on K Max myself and it was set exactly the same on Ultra.
8-9 for pour overs seems high , almost french press, but if it taste good why not.

I have the K ultra, I think the folding handle is to save some space for when it's just sitting around, and to make it more difficult to knock over by catching the handle when your swing your hands around. Tbh I don't ever fold it, I've had no issues, I'm not an awkward person :p I also think they've discontinued the production of k max so double check on that but they might be running out.

After a long time of research, I decided to choose the K-Ultra as my first grinder. I was in doubt about the Kingrinder K6, but as I intend to have a general use and for a long time, I chose to invest in greater quality, finish and durability. I felt safer in choosing K-Ultra.

The K6 is built like a tank. I have it. It's meant to withstand grinding using a hand drill. Makes great coffee too. Only con with K6 is the rubber grip will get loose overtime and you may need to cut some part so it fits perfectly again. I was looking to purchase the Kmax at that time but the K6 went on sale for 120 USD, was hard to pass. I need a beater hand grinder for coffee use as it will be used by me and a couple of office friends. I already have a specialita for home use.

@@mycoffeeshow111 sounds like your Kmax is fully seasoned and hits the sweet spot easier. As you may know, the sweetest point is incredibly close to the bitterness threshold. So you would want to grind tiny bit coarser and that's it. As coffee stalls it oxidizes and loose CO2 which make it easier to extract. You would want to coarse your grounds a bit to compensate. This is my theory on this one..
On the other hand, Kultra employs the exact same burrs as the Kmax. In fact according 1Zpresso, k series share the exact same burrs. My 5 cents on the sourness you mention would be that you're falling bit short of extraction or the burrs are still breaking in, seasoning. Both grinders SHOULD taste exactly the same, being the adjustment step (grind size step) finer on the Kultra at 20um burrs gap per click VS kmax's 22um per click. Cheers!

I have been having joy with my k-max, but I do agree that it can be a bit tiresome to grind daily. It’s my daily driver though, because I found the inexpensive electric grinders couldn’t handle my half dozen espressos daily without the motor burning out after a year or two. I mostly drink very dark oily beans and I do find sometimes that the oily beans means that the grinds will sometimes not want to come out of the catch cup unless I cajole them a bit. But it does make some of the nicest grinds I have seen. they are very fluffy and very uniform and the grinder is very easy to clean. But if I could find a good electric one I might just relegate the k-max to portable use. But that’s only because I grind more coffee than the average single person. So if you find a good electric one with similar or better grinds, it would be worth my investigation. I heard flat burrs were supposedly possibly better for espresso but I don’t know. I just got into coffee seriously a couple years ago when the coffee shops were not open, but it turned out to be way more interesting than I’d thought. So I guess I’m an espresso shot in progress hahahaha.

I wanted to get ZP6 but was out of stock so went for this one. Possibly I will still get it but my budget is limited 😒. There will be unboxing of another hand grinder next week which should also be interesting.

Awesome video as always. Looking forward to hand vs electric grinders. I can't figure out the advantages and disadvantages, other than having to do a workout every time :) I just bought a DF64 as my first pro-consumer (if you can call it that way) grinder... but I didn't even consider getting a hand grinder instead! Keep up the good work, the content is great, well thought, and honest.

Thank you very much. DF64 is great, and price is right. Do you have standard burrs or some special SSP ? As for hand grinders, personally I mostly use them when travelling. I already have 7, but that just for videos.

@@fjaviergl99i think they couldn’t sue 1zpresso for copying their burrs so they’re suing them for other designs, also since 1zpresso is Asian country and have different laws and they don’t have their own store in EU, comadante is suing stores as well who are retailers for 1z.
It’s really confusing, Comandante should come up with clarifications soon
