The facelifted second gen in V8S or Speed guise is perfection!
My favorite is the first gen GTC Speed!
Back in '08 I drove hundreds of the GTs including the GT Speed but not the Supersports. The GT Speeds were INSANE I can't imagine the Supersports. Favourite colour profile was a porcelain with black multi-spoke wheels; A cop actually pulled me over in it and I thought FOR SURE it's because he heard me accelerate. But no.. he just asked me a quick question about his own personal Jag and complimented mine LOL "Have a great day, officer!" Absolutely love this brand... Bentley is also known to have the best interiors of the super luxury brands - nicer than RR even. Their veneer is just remarkable... and the DISTINCT leather smell is PUNGENT in these bad boys, they all have a similar, extremely high quality leather aroma. C'est Magnifique! *Chefs Kiss*

I’ve always had a soft spot for these, along with the Continental Flying Spur from this era. Definitely the peak of VAG, they definitely didn’t play around when they set out to build the best of the best!

Actually I believe that Phaeton was the reusage of a platform meant to be used by Bentley, not the opposite. Same case for the Touareg and Cayenne, the first one is a Porsche with VW label, not the opposite.
Mass-production Bentley and Porsche SUV were actually a risk back then, they couldn’t be sure if those will be successful, so they wanted to share the costs by deriving some lower-marketed cars from those.
Ferdinand Piëch’s great ambitions were surely also the case 😅

Top notch video as always. You really can't beat the 12 cylinder starting snarl. In keeping with the early 2010's VAG, how about an Audi A8 D4 with the 4.2 TDI. Not quite the BHP of the Bentley but around 70 lb/ft more torque.

I wish we got that motor here in the US. That torque is something incredible.
That's one really well maintained unit, if it wasn't for the design language you couldn't tell this car is over a decade old. Not too practical spec, but looking mighty fine when clean. The problem is the price, sure it did depreciate a lot but damn, at that price point you really gotta want that Bentley to get it. I think that 20 minute long experience will do it for me. 😅

Still looks great to this day! I was at Bentley during Uni just as they were launching the GT. Was in awe watching the testing all over the Crewe countryside. Fast forward 20 years and it's now affordable in this guise BUT very costly to maintain and sadly with VAG technology at that time renowned for glitches and many 'engine out' repairs even for small sensors and those awfully brittle vacuum lines right across the transmission on 03 - 06 cars. I just can't decide whether I should swallow the brave pill. Last one I drove had last invoice for over £10k inc engine out for starter motor! 46 hours labour at £130 per hour. Ouch!
I love the idea of getting a(n older) car and taking it for a drive while sprinkling a bit of history here and there!
