In almost all of these videos taking up the slack at the end is the most complex step, this method has been the most straightforward in that regard that I’ve seen to date. Thanks!
After watching a few other videos on how to tie a diamond knot, I landed on your tutorial and within a few minutes of watching how you used your fingers to form the carrick bend, I was up and running, creating a crown knot with ease. I even used it with two cords to form a "double diamond" knot. When attempting to tie a double diamond knot with a single cord, you once again provided a clear and easy to follow tutorial. Thank you
You, my friend, are an expert teacher and have taught me more useful knots than I even knew existed. I love your channel and your very easy to follow teaching method. For a knot head like me, that is saying something.
So cool. I was looking for different knot variations for neck lanyards to sell and your video helped me master this knot. Now thanks to you I don't need to watch this anymore. I'm making a good amount of money selling these to different people who want decorative while also durable knots. It's truly one of the strongest knots for hanging small to medium sized objects. I just wanted to thank you and keep up the good work.
This is an excellent tutorial. I have stayed away from the double diamond for years. I did it on the first try after watching your video. Thank you so much!
There is something very satisfying about the whole process of tying this beautiful knot. I tied one just below the loop, and then put that one over the back as a new loop and tied a second one further down.
If I need help on that figurine how to do a knot I just go to for the birth and not send a message and then they'll give me examples on how to do it which is great right now I'm trying to do a holster for my phone but I need to figure out how to do a Diamond Knot so it doesn't fall off when I bend over I want to put it in my suspenders of my pants
+WhyKnot Thank you for sharing all these treasures. Coming back to an earlier suggestion, could you please make a video on how to use the paracord remains (esp. smaller than 20 cm)? Thank you in advance!
Thank you! After watching three other videos this knot had me close to screaming point, just couldn't work it out. Your approach to doubling up the initial diamond knot looks different to other vids but so much easier to follow. Much like weaving a Turk's Head. I watched this once, then again following along and ... done! I think it's the pacing. Other demonstrations just go too darned fast, yours is just right.
excellent tutorial. you have the perfect combination of pace, camera work, scale, etc. Bravo! Tied this one easily on first try thanks to you, sir. You have a new subscriber!
I believe this is tied incorrectly. At 7:15 , you can't go straight up the middle of the knot. Instead, you should follow the top of the knot, go past the standing end (the part that forms the loop), and then go up the middle... just like you do when you tie a single diamond knot. If you follow the instructions in this video, you will end up with your some of your strands crossed over.
This is the first time I've seen this knot doubled in this way as I always double it on the other side which is much easer . this is a double footrope knot which is a diamond inside out if you roll the crown down over the wall you will have a diamond knot
Is it possible to rather than follow the stand around, to go opposite to the first pass? By which I mean, if strand went over the second pass would go under? I might try it myself, but I"d like to hear if it's been done and has worked. I have done a similar knot but began with 4 strands, I began with a 4 plait, built the knot then continued the plait. The challenge in my version was I used leather and you must make sure the skin side is twisted to the outside to maintain the look. Great video btw.
No worries, might end up just being a specific method for tying a globe knot, as it should become over and under all over. if you pull the loop into the center like a Chinese button it would make for a very swanky stopper knot for the Mad Max Para cord bracelet. One last thing. I've had some really good success for bracelets by taking 2 cords, gutting one and then with a fid, threading the ungutted cord inside the gutted shell. I initially used this method for making cores for 2 belly para cord stock whip thongs - I also would thread into larger diameter shells cut progressively shorter to establish the taper- When used for bracelets it provides a good stiff foundation for a cobra weave with regular cord, or a very strong and stiff cobra weave using the double shell cord. Anyhoo thats enough ramblings for this Scotsman living in Houston who once went to primary school in Victoria AU. LOL. ciao.

Great explanation

I'm not sure. I have never seen it tied that way. I might try. Thanks for the input.

This is a 3l X 4b Turks head made with 2 cords
love this video but was still unable to figure it out :(
I guess it doesn't work to just yank on the cords until it's tight, right? =P
All good until tightening up the knot. From there forward impossible...
Anyone here from the Flying Dutchman knot scene in Spongebob
