The Epic Battle for Supremacy: Pet American Toads Clash!

My female American toad Ace has lived peacefully inside the 242-gallon PA Woods Vivarium as the dominant creature in the ecosystem. Her reign is threatened when old bitter rival Wellsboro, my male American toad, enters the enclosure. The toads are in a massive woodland vivarium; the goal is to see who can take the top spot. This battle is sure to be dramatic, using their wits and strength to capture the majority of the food in the vivarium. This battle for supremacy is brief but intense, and it's a must-watch for anyone interested in amphibian biology or wildlife.

👍 This is pretty cool. It didn't take long for him to make his move. American toads don't "seem" to be extremely territorial, but they probably can be territorial during mating season when theres a surplus of males and a shortage of females.

It’s surprising to see how they will try to hoard the resources and out compete one another in captivity. There was a journal article about green frogs doing it to American toads.
