my father had this disease and he almost died in the intensive care, his heart stopped and then he came back to life thanks to the doctors. I'm glad I still have him with us.. If there is a god who hears me, thanks.

I have no memory of the start of this illness but was told it began with a seizure. All I can remember is coming round in hospital some while later with no knowledge of who I was or where I was. I gradually recovered and was lucky to eventually get some memory back, but life has never been the same again

I think my wife died from this, she saw several Doctors, went to RI hospital twice, where they basically said her illness was imagined, Kent County just went by what RI hospital said and sent her home next day. She had every symptom your web site mentions, she died 2 days after being sent home. At least 3 neurologist said her trouble was imagend, so I guess they would say she died from imagination

I had Encephalitis when I was around 14 years old, I remember having really bad headaches, so bad I couldn't even walk. I had a couple of spinal taps and hospitalized for a while but then better.

This is the second year I’ve been going to doctors to figure out what is going on. I’ve researched multiple conditions with my symptoms and encephalitis is one of the few that doesn’t have to do with getting old (although likely could be made worse) which makes it a likely contender as I have majority of the symptoms associated with it + I’m only 18 with symptoms starting at 15.
I am definitely bringing this up to my doctor (alongside other conditions that I have more than half the symptoms of.. whether or not it affects my age group) at my next appointment so that I can do tests and either have a diagnosis or scratch off a deadly condition.

I had changes in sleep, psychosis, i would ramble a lot, confusion, i didn't know anyone at one point, hallucinations, weird tingling, headaches, and i had small seizures. They were about to send me to a ward but my pressure and tempature shot up.

I think I had this. I was hallucinating very badly and had sense problems. Could only taste salt. Smelled orange peels. Wasn’t the kind of hallucinating acid causes but real lifelike. Was terrifying. Lasted about a week and slowly went away. Would hallucinate on and off briefly for about two weeks afterwards. Very brief episodes. It felt like I was on high dose ketamine for about four days. I live by a pond which has a high concentration of tiger mosquitoes in Florida. It happened in the summer ten years ago. No family history of mental health issues. I was 38 when it happened. Does this sound like what it was? I wasn’t on any substances at this period also.

Hey do you think that there is correlation between benzos an encepyhltis ? Because when people come off benzos they experience all the exact same symptoms as encephylitis. I mean down to a t. An bensos can cause a weakened immune system also can cause nervous system damage. All correlated to encephylotis. If this was the case then people thar are On benzos for long period of time anthen come off may have drug induced encephyltis. All the symptoms are exactly the same. Also benzos can treat brain inflammation. Well then due to there addictive nature it would make sense that benzos can actually cause brain inflammation when taken off. An I beleive that many people are suffering , not from benzo withdrawal, but from benzo induced encephyltis.

@@encephalitisinternational you should do research on this. More research needs to be done on what long term benzodiazepine use actually does. They know that it can cause bind , benzo induced nuerological disorder, wich is potentially linked to nueroinflamattion. Wich can also be types of encephalitis. Or encephalopathy. I'll look into your site more tho thanks for the response.
