One of the best produced tutorials I have seen. To the point (no pun intended) clean machines, quick use of the correct tools and confident. Well done Sir!
Thankyou, easy precise explanation and good video detail. I have had the same CompuFire sitting around for a while. Time to get rid of those old points in my 71 VW.
Had the compu-fire bought from another distribitor which i will never use again installed it properly but i failed on us so we got the compu-tronix one from you guys and installed it love the fact that you don't have to mess with the points anymore and it has not failed a week after the instalation.like the compu-fire did
I also bought the compufire 21101 for the stock distributor with vacuum advance and the module did not sit properly luckily I had a couple of 009 that it fit in no problem
Awesome, I bought a Compufire electronic ignition 15 or so ago for my 63 Beetle with a 2010cc detuned race motor, it was a different style with the coil pack mounting on the doghouse. I thought that was a great ignition and I can imagine that this is too, but I love that the original coil and dist cap is used and the module is where the points mount. I would imagine it's even more reliable but I wonder, is this a more powerful spark using the original rotor cap and coil than the type I bought?
I have a 69 bug.I went with the compfire for the vacume distibuter and it wont work ,The shaft has a factory bushing set up that will not allow the module to set in place propely ,,My guess is that Ill take it back to the store and I will be told its for a 009 and i will have to buy a new distibutor so it will work ,,I dont mind ,I just want the damn car to run today ,, wish i would have known at the counter, Now I have to wait till my work hours allow me to go in and get one . If I have a magneto & points, can I install Compufire Ignition without a battery?
I like not having a battery.

By installing the electronic system in the 009, will it get rid of the flat spot?
what part gets burnt up if I were to hook them up backward? is it the ignition coil?
That's great!! Nice and easy, thank you!
Can the stock ignition coil be used with the breakerless conversion, or does it have to be changed ?
how about for a stock vacuum advance 050 dizzy? does this one fit that as well?
This works for any VW aircooled engine right, including type 4 engines?
Yes
Has anyone tried this on a Fiat Sport coupe 124 Ac 1400 (first series)? Same engine as the Fiat 124 Spider. Does it really make a huge difference?
where can I get this kit?
Donde se puede n conseguir
Great thanks worked for me
Tack så mycket perfekt
How do you time it?
Same way you would ... Except you don't have to set any points.
amazing
Do not use the provided spacer from Compufire. Leaves the module too far from the rotor. Be sure you can see the shaft groove.
he has the fuel filter installed backwards! and why is he taking the dizzy out? theres no reason. maybe not the best place to look for advice i'd say
It didn't work for me
