I understand most of conversations but it's difficult to respond. I think it's because I worry about saying something wrong. But the people in the village are very nice and they're patient with me. I still use Google translate to help with words I don't know though.
@@anamericaninpoland This is the part of my reply comment on some Brit who lives in Poland: "Bout the English in my case: well, i've never ever studied English at all (I'm 50 yo!)! Didn't even had an english lessons book in my hands, but I think, well, I do can communicate in English thx to the games, movies, etc. BUT I "grew up" among the US ppl on-line. A Canadian ppl on-line, a Latino US ppl on-line (who tried to teach me some latin-US idiomes) plus I've spent 3 times by 6 months living in Canada, so my English accent is - funny. But you know what? I've never been ashamed of using English in front of my non-Polish friends. I've always been curious and brave enough to speak and to polsih my English. OFC I'm far from being perfect of speaking or typing/writing the proper English, but I'm trying. That's important in mho! So I have the recommendation, or suggestion to my English-speaking friends in Poland: Don't be shy, don't be shamed by using your broken polish saying a word or two in Poland! Polish ppl will be nicely surprised and appreciate your effort! :)" See? I'm not scared of using my broken English! Neither here in net or in rl! Thats why I can use more English words than "yes", "no" "Thank you" EVEN IF i still suck with English! in general :D Even if I've gotten some basics from the ppl I mentioned above - it was really hard for me to use the lang. there in Canada. But... I did! And you know what? First I thought ppl gonna make fun of me, or laugh at my language, or, at least will say they don't understand what I say, but you know what? Nothing of that happened! Nobody laughed at me, nobody made fun of me! They appreciated I'm trying and they were friendly and nice to me! You'll say: But that was Canada, not Poland. And you know what? You're right! It was Canada, but in Poland people will appreciate you for trying to speak polish more, than Canadians for speaking English - trust me! Hope it's gonna help you to break the ice and you'll start trying your Polish during the conversations! ; ]
