Just discovered your videos, this is the second one I'm viewing. As an American in Western Ukraine who also enjoys the more traditional cultural values of Ukraine, it's really cool to see you share your perspective and information on Poland. Great country, glad to have good neighbors on some sides.
Thanks a lot for watching! Living in Eastern Europe definitely is different from the States! Glad you're enjoying the channel and hope you have a happy and safe Christmas!
Father Frost is way outdated. It's not a thing anymore. Coming from podlasie, when I was a kid (over 30years ago) it was already a dead thing. I imagine they show it as an option just to make the list more varied. Oh and for Santa's place in Europe it's usually Lapland in Finland, not North Pole
Star or angels are very rare, father frost not existing any more, its really only Poznan and surroundings came up with this weird Gwiazdor thing. Overall 90% are for classical Santa.
Lol, Father Frost was not "invented" by Communists as such, that's a spirit of Winter. In Eastern Orthodoxy St. Nicholas is a very important saint, and he doesn't have any ties with Christmas (which is in January to begin with), so if you want a winter spirit to bring you gifts, you probably won't use a real religious patron.
I never said he was "invented by" the communist but he was promoted because he was not a religious icon. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment
