  • The 2022 Taos is VW's newest small-car offering. It comes in front-wheel or all-wheel drive and offers a lot of features and space for its class. But you're definitely not going to get as good of MPG as a Jetta.

Just bought my 22 Taos SE this week. Took it on a drive out to Nashville and completely love the car. I test drove the Mazda CX-5 and the CX-30, but it doesn't compare to the space you have inside and how open it just feels. It really does have all the power you need, if you're looking for something to throw you back into your seat, this car definitely isn't it, but if you're looking for a good family car that you can take on trips, then it's perfect. The sound system could be a tad better, I actually adjusted the balancer on the settings back just one spot and I felt that it centered the sound much better. Excited to see how she does on our trip to Miami next month!

Update! I tried the launch control of the 7 speed DCT on the Taos it works like charm, can't belive they advertise this vehicles as a 8.4 second 0-60 when in reality it can do 6.9 secons using regulat 87 gas when using launch contr

This car would be great at about $3k less. At this price you can get a fully loaded turbo Mazda CX30. But the Taos does have a surprising amount of interior space for both passengers and cargo.

I bought mine at $27,895 S model with 4MOTION and IQ
It has being nothing but great driving it, the driving dynamics feels like a more expensive vehicle, and for that price you can't buy a 22 Mazda CX5, the CX30 is to small and does not compare with the Taos

I think the best version of the Taos is a base S model with the tech package.

Some of us at an auto parts warehouse in SoCal are driving the taos base models. Been driving them since late last yr or early this yr. At least 3 have 4 warning lights come on after driving on/off recently. The cruise control goes off after turning it on. Other stuff. After a couple of days at the local vw dealership, the service guy said it's because we're putting the lowest grade of gas in it (like our boss/company ask), when we should be putting the highest...since it's the type of car it is. Something like that. Well i looked inside the door to the gas cap. It says to use regular unleaded. I even noticed in this video that regular unleaded is being used. I did bring that up to the service guy and he did suggest pouring some lucas additive in the tank when we go get gas. That's a LOT of additive for 3 or 4 cars! So...not that anyone is going to listen to me beings i've only worked for this company for almost 2 yrs...but it seems to me, the company shouldn't have bought these. Got gas early this afternoon in the one i borrowed from another driver. Had no additive and a bit later, the lights came on. A few hrs after that...they went off. ??

For reference I have 2022 se fwd. Long term mpg which I reset about 3500 miles ago I am averaging 32.2 mpg. On a recent trip from Charlotte to Vermont and back I averaged 36mpg averaging 75 mph. It should be noted that I run my tire pressure 3 psi over recommendation on the stock Bridgestone Turanza p100 all season tires. In conclusion you can expect to get the epa estimate of 28 city and 36 highway. Also I drive in normal mode and aggressively at times.

I leased a front wheel drive SE model and do mainly city driving I will say the engine is lackluster at best and the MPG is TERRIBLE I check the app the vehicle normally gives me less than 20 mpg heck one time the app said i got 9-10mpg. I have noticed the car jerks when taking off and you quite literally have to push the pedal to the floor to take off. I am going to have the dealer look at and see if thiers anything that could be done to improve MPG and the jerkyness of the powertrain when taking off. I will say the interior room and features for the price are nice for this car my SE was like 28k MSRP and had all kinds of features

Bro… this vehicle sucks. I have it, loved it for the the size with how much driving I do by myself from Baltimore to Florida. I get around 19-23mpg. If it’s all hwy I get around 25. Rarely above 26 and I’m not driving like a lunatic either.
