Came here linked from a GT-R group, as a 33 Vspec owner for 16 years I wanted to say well done on your review - probably one of the best i've seen so far on youtube. You hit the technical standpoints and development history really well. I even learned a few things! Us 33 owners all know it's the best platform of the R family, and don't mind it being kept a secret ;)
I’ll play devils advocate and say the R34 is a face lifted R33. Don’t believe me? R33 introduced turn signals in the front bumper, adjustable spoiler and the S3 models introduced the one reverse light and one rear fog light. All R34s have all those features
Good video- better than all the half-researched wiki-based videos that incorrectly note the 33 being the heaviest of the three. All cars get heavier as they evolve through the generations - glad you highlighted the change in the design brief for what the 33 was built to compete in. Food for thought when you look at doing the 34 review - Nissan allegedly had planned to move to a v6 setup for that generation. "Chief engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno and designer Watanabe both intended for the R34 to be fitted with a V6 engine, mounted behind the front axles for a front-mid-engined layout. However, the plan was thrown out because there wasn't enough budget to develop a V6 with performance worthy of the hallowed GT-R badge." The fact that Nissan didn't implement the v6 shows that the 34 was built with more compromise to its vision than the 33. The v6 above is why we see the R35 adopt the VQ engine - but to think the 33 would've been the last of the Rb26s changes perspectives on how great a GTR it was.
I always loved the R33 regardless of what people say, I think it looks better than the 32 and 34, and I have the nostalgia from playing the first Gran Turismo game 🤪
I think everyone forgot the R33 being in the 1st Fast and Furious, it's a shame we didn't get to see it perform 😢 The R33 definitely deserves more respect than it receives. Great and very informative review, thank you 💯🤙🏿
R33 is an awesome vehicle. Anyone who disrespects it has more than likely obviously never driven one. It's rather than NA-1 nsx type R, just think about that. Also, no official r34 nurburgring times were released for r34.

They say R33 is heavy and smoother. But with a stiff suspension its lighter than the R34 and has a chassis rigidity akin to R34
Damn good review! I really enjoyed it
People forget that the r33 was faster on the Nurburgring then all the other skyline motors
Nice!!! I can’t wait until I get there..

Are you gonna go after an in person R34 next? If you do, good luck!
People Luuuurvvv the r34 but say the 33 is a boat. Well the 34 is heavier, so.
