There were many of their franchise shops around Japan in 90's aka golden era of fighting games.

... is one of filksong of famous "Can't beat Airman" song.
Even Hayao(3s Hugo player) sung it himself and uploaded on nicovideo.jp.

Daigo = the Asian Jordan.
Funfact: Jordan was interested more in baseball and actually was on a team. He did not do as well as his basketball career. So, he went with playing in the NBA. You excel more and have more fun in doing something you're good at than something you're interested in.
Same can apply to Umehara.. he was good at fighting games but decided to take interest in mahjong, guess it didn't work out.

There's a difference between the game being bad (as in unbalanced) and just plainly not liking it for personal preference (style, speed, aesthetics). SSFIV should at least be given credit for keeping the genre alive, now look how many fighting games are coming out because of SFIV/SSFIV's success...coincidence....HELL NO!
