Press fit is excellent and I rarely use soldered fittings now! I’m also finding many places don’t want you using blow torches so it’s a bonus

We’ve all seen these before but how o you install them? Do you need a special tool? This is what people need to know.

Thanks, for the content. Can I use pressfit on a standard copper pipe. Essentially, I want to replace plumbing under the sink.

For those who are asking…the press fitting tool is expensive. A Milwaukee kit can be $2000. There are cheaper tools obviously…but you can see the world these fittings make you play in.

??? But what about the tool needed? Will Pex-B crimper work with this?

Vevor makes the cordless press tool for around $800, I think a DeWalt is $2k!!

PEX UNIVERSE, have you heard anything about the copper G ProPress fittings coming back ? (G= Gas).

Everyone loves to install press fittings. 99.9% of the problems are caused by installer error ( improper stab depth, not paying attention to the O-ring for proper seat & poor prep causing burs to cut the O-ring). That being said there are still some things we don't know #1 the longevity of the O-ring #2 now that the copper G fittings (gas) are pulled from the market, we don't know the ramifications of the thousands and thousands out in the field. I know they're grandfathered in but that is just to cover the manufacturers ass from class action lawsuits, they'd rather take the lawsuits one at a time in the remote possibility of the O-ring having a failure during a house fire. as with anything, only time will tell.

You have some very valid points I just purchased a Milwaukee pro press good information especially on the natural gas do you know if the natural gas fittings got pulled nationwide or is it certain states that pulled them .

@@emmanuelwilliams6004 , nationwide at this time on the copper G ProPress fittings. The megapress fittings are all still approved. I would think they are working on some type of new and improved copper G fitting but at this time I have not heard anything.

Maybe they are worried about the O ring melting during a fire. If that's the case then it would seem to be not a big issue, if the house is already on fire it’s a lost cause anyway.

@@aussie8114 , I believe the standard is around 1000 degrees Fahrenheit or so. From what I understand they have all the O-rings passing the standards test now. Fire and explosions are two different things (NFPA 54 sets pretty strict standards).

Interesting, however way to long if you're not even going to show installation equipment or demo.

Lame sauce. Crimp fittings are lame! Just solder the damn thing! If you're working somewhere that has an issue with an open flame, use an inductive heater.
Relying on a rubber seal that rides along the outside of the scratched copper tubing is absurd!
