    In the middle of my shower remodel using your products right now. Would really like to see the fabrication of the panels. This video jumped to finishing the holes in the panel. I'm likely starting my fabrication in the next 10 days. I've watched your foam shower wall visors, but they are a couple of years old and I could use a nice refresher.

    That is my favorite color for this epoxy wall idea.
    Might as well do all the walls, plus the ceiling, while you're at it.
    less seams, looks easy to do once you do one panel.

    This is absolutely awesome!!! I currently have a shower/tub combo in my master bathroom. My wife just went through a horrible medical ordeal (had an abscess on her spinal cord that caused her to be a quadriplegic and is now fighting her way back to using her limbs again) and there's no way she can step over the side of a tub. She could barely manage it before the surgery because of back problems. I intend on cutting out the surround and putting a shower stall in place, and want to use SCC to do the walls, just like this. It's an alcove shower, so I think it'll be easier because I won't have to worry about glass walls.

    A 'lil confused. Love the outcome, but I thought they needed to be torched for bubbles? Also, was no additional top coat applied?

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs Рік тому

      Hey there. Yes, torching is used to remove the bubbles and we actually did a little in the full length video. Because this was a melded marble technique where we used more product per square foot and it’s being used as a shower panel, an additional flood coat isn’t necessary. If I used a technique with spray paint, I would apply a flood coat.

    We need window sills that are 14 1/2" wide and 9'+ feet long (We have an ICF house). I was going to use MDF to make them. After seeing this, I am wondering if the foam would hold up. Any comments on that? The foam would be so much cheaper and easier to use. Thank you Stone Coat for the great ideas and great videos!

    • @benh2322
      @benh2322 11 місяців тому

      After 8 months I hope you found a solution, but if you're like me.... it may still be on the to do list. I built an ICF house a few years ago and we did MDF sills. we laminated 2 layers so that we wouldn't have a seam, then coated with SCC It looked amazing. It didn't occur to us to try the foam. Now in a new house, I'm about to finish a shower surround and wouldn't think twice about using the foam for window sills. My only concern would be the front lip compressing if a kiddo tried to sit in the sill

    how can you make panels where the design can aligned perfectly and can be put back together in the bathroom (to get it through the doorway)

  • @JustinMentionedIt
    @JustinMentionedIt Рік тому

    So I see it’s still installed onto a backer board with the niche being the same… that’s pretty sweet bc a tile shower of that size would be $3k-$6k depending on where you are and how fancy it is I’m guessing this is slightly cheaper and much quicker to do ?

    • @christopherbowman2435
      @christopherbowman2435 11 місяців тому

      I’m also curious about the cost vs tile. I have family that can help me to DIY tile, which saves some money but this might still be a better option

    • @JustinMentionedIt
      @JustinMentionedIt 11 місяців тому +1

      @@christopherbowman2435 if you have the time and money to waste for fun the epoxy is a fun thing to do but if it’s something you just need to get done go for the tile route, since you have family help assuming you guys know what to do you can get right in, get out and be done but with epoxy you might have to toy around with it getting the mix and color you want

    • @JustinMentionedIt
      @JustinMentionedIt 11 місяців тому +1

      @@christopherbowman2435at 9:30 , ain’t no way I’m glueing it that way tho lol, I. Using half inch trial (when smushed down it becomes 1/4 notch of whatever adhesive you’re using) bc I wouldnt trust those blobs alone bc I have had to repair tile jobs where ppl didn’t use a trial and used blobs however they may have never had issues with doing blobs on epoxy but for me just for extra security I’d use a trial for the silicone lol

    TLDR: I wanna make a floating desk, can I epoxy a 4X8 of MDF, OSB, or plywood and make a desktop out of it, or does that sound like a terrible idea?
    I was thinking of using a half inch thick sheet of 4X8 plywood plus a lot of L brackets for strength, and then a 1/8th inch veneer for looks.
    Then I remembered the neat stuff you do here with countertops and wondered if that'd work for what I'm doing instead of the veneer.
    Black with some copper stripes/streaks/lightning bolts would be really cool. How much would it cost though?
    I don't know the exact dimensions yet, but 30X90 inches seems about right.
