  • The Temple of Karnak, located 3 kilometers north of Luxor, is undoubtedly the most gigantic site of Pharaonic Egypt. Dating back 4,700 years, and begun during the New Kingdom, it remains the largest religious structure ever built in the world. Karnak was not just a temple, but a real religious complex; a city of several thousand people. At its height, the temple was actually reserved only for clergy, laymen were not permitted to enter.

Magnificent! French Egyptologists are top-notch. I would love to see a completed 3D representation of Karnak -- particularly one that would allow you to view it in various iterations. To be able to view it from Mentihotep II through the Ptolomies would be well worth all the work they're doing.
This site is full of such wonderful posts regarding the surviving Egyptian architecture & the people who created it -- the one on scribes is great!

Funny hearing this man talk about precision to the miler-meter like we are the most advanced builders 👀😂 do it with 500 ton blocks with no mortar then 😂😂😂😂 when people talk like they know it all , often that is not the case 🎯 the beauty of the ancient world is the questions it leaves us with , and we are yet to find the answers 💚

For those that notice, the dog lying DEAD on the floor at @5:22, can be seen moving at @11:31 . This leads me to believe that the editing of the video is such that the minute 11:33 interview was filmed before the 5::22 interview....pssst, my comments do not have to reflect the truth, as I am just letting you know my opinion...and I am bored.
