I had the fortune to live in Mexico for 2 years and often visited Chichen Itza, Tulum, and Coba. When I lived there we were allowed to climb on and explore all the structures. My Fav was Coba, which is in the middle of the jungle and spread apart! I hope one day I will be able to visit other sites !
Yea, it's sad that so many great civilsations have come to their end but in reality, it freezes them into the past so we can see them for who they really were. We learn so much from these snapshots that would otherwise be under parking lots or picked apart to build houses, lime and marble burnt to make mortar. It's bittersweet. A civilsation never really stays still, if they hadn't been destroyed, we would likley not have all of this to gaze upon.
One would think if one were making a video and come across unfamiliar words one would take the time to verify the correct pronunciation. Cenote is pronounced cenotey, not cenot. What else might they have wrong? I suppose the viewers couldn’t care less.
I've been to Copan, Honduras twice it's amazing

The Tren Maya is coming, now you can travel the mayan route through five Mexican states in train
Naracion en español..
Mayans sure had stair technology down pat...but seriously, what an amazing looking culture. Too bad it was ruined by European (Spanish) conquerors.

Oh and the myans were not wiped out by Europeans, that was the Aztecs.
@@unbanned6175 Naa you have it wrong. The Spaniards wiped out mesoamerica. Deny all you want! you weren't there, 'unbanned'.
