God. Vince Gillian is so likable. And, even better, he's a genius.
***** ok
gilligan
FACTS
he's white
Uuuuggggh....making good things doesn't make you a genius. This word has become meaningless at this point.
I love how you can tell Conan is a genuine fan. He's not even cracking jokes left and right, he just really seems fascinated with Gilligan's writing. Helps that he was a tv writer himself.
he was a writer? any shows I may have heard of?
@@nn-taleb little show called the Simpsons
This is such a perfect example of what is so incredible about Vince Gilligan: along with the humility, confessing that he does not know where the show is going, that they have written the show into corners, and credits every other writer versus hogging all the glory. He truly has no complex at all and is just a good person; a quiet genius.
Exactly
I remember one of those corners was Hank trapping Jesse and Walt in the RV, and having them get out of that corner with that phone call.
@@jerradwilsonthat was such a good corner!!
“A quiet genius” - perfect summation.
He sounds like Badger.
haha yeah
Badger is his illegitimate child and that's how he originally got the part on the show.
:3
@@Holdontohappiness really?
Lmao 😂
I like how Lisa Kudrow, the star of the biggest sitcom ever, an attractive actress in an Iconic show.... And Vince Gilligan is shadowing her on the stage. He never even had screen time. That's awesome
+Austin Boylan Yeah, we know who he is. Dave's point was that he's not used to being in front of the camera.
I didn’t know Lisa kudrow was in Seinfeld
This guy must be the most brilliant but humblest showrunner on tv. He's all 'aw shucks' to every interviewer or fan that (rightly) gushes over his work. He should have an Emmy just for being so gosh darn humble
But Walter is so narcissistic it's strange how practice pride and perfection are such big themes
lmfao. People are laughing at lisa laughing
Lisa dated Conan so no wonder she finds him hilarious
yeah she is annoying as heck and her laugh is just so fake and forced
She has a very infectious laugh! Can't blame them!
Fun Fact: Lisa Kudrow and Conan used to date back in the day.
Fun fact : Everyone fucking knows it.
+driblingking07 Fun Fact: I didn't.
Lol that's crazy. They don't seem like they would have matched as a couple though. And funny to see them on this show, knowing that they used to date.
Fun Fact: That was just a rumor lol.
Fun Fact: I dated both Lisa Kudrow and Conan back in the day.
How come Lisa Kudrow is hotter now than back in the day?
botox
mmmmmmilf
In a UA-cam video at least..
Lisa was the hottest back in the day
Money
Damn, Lisa Kudrow looks good.
Maybe when you turn 12.
no, needs a nose job
@@Pabular imagine her laughing and moaning
I just met this dude at an la restaurant and he was the kindest dude. I continue to wish him all the best
Same
Vince Gilligan really looks like Petyr Baelish (little finger) from Game of Thrones.
even sounds a bit like him.
This guy is a prodigy of tv.
Rad, I think Lisa Kudrow is fuckin' high.
When binge watching friends Phoebe is the first one to become so annoying I can no longer watch it. So no.
@@XxxX-wx3er shut up
Lisa should be with andy in every single episode. Her laugh is funny.
i love it xD
Her laugh and Dean Norris’s laugh are my favorites
Lisa Kudrow makes me happy no matter what she's doing...and especially when she is laughing adorably like this. She isn't old what so ever but she brings back some childhood happiness feelings when I see her especially when she is being cute like in this clip.
Wish I could let him know how much this show has helped me personally, I mean Since it started I was watching and I went through a lot of trouble financially, health wise, living situation and some legal issues. But honestly though watching this show and it being one of the few things I owned that could entertain me I've learned to see things from other peoples view a little more, I now think about what I'm doing and how it affects people more. It's shown me what I don't want, what I could want and last but not least I realize anybody can be what you don't expect but even bad people can be redeemed if they wish, at least in my eyes.
love this, it helped me personally too
This dude reminds me of ned flanders....
Walter White always reminded me of Ned Flanders. In the beginning of course, back in the 1st Season, before he went bald. :D
Hahaha Lisa's laugh
yeah its annoying and fake
I love Breaking Bad, and this interview is great, but Lisa Kudrow's laughing in the background is just adorable... :)
is that Lisa Kudrow laughing
Yes
She got even prettier as she got older.
***** yeah that's wisdom vs surgery.
@@OneTrueEdge ikr
I love Lisa Kudrow giggling in the background. Vince is such a good guy, I just want to give him a hug and thank him haha
Everytime Conan makes a joke which is supposed to be funny he says 'uhh' right after it.
Jerrongamereview its to pause for applause and also if no one finds it funny he can transition from the uhh to another thought so the uhh would mean he was thinking and not waiting for applause... many people do it.
Most people in the business do it ellen for eg.
@@driblingking07 true
I absolutely LOVE how Conan is such a Breaking Bad fanboy.
I love how the audience is contagiously laughing with Lisa Kudrow
Lisa is so great, I love her laugh
Breaking Bad is beyond words, it is really that good. I have watched television for 30 years and nothing has been this engrossing and captivating. They did two things that we never see, the first was create a full character arc and the second was make a character who you would believe was capable of such things, and to make you question what you would do in that situation. I will be truly sorry when the last episode airs.
i love kudrow's laughter so much, my life becomes brighter every time she does
vince looks like a nerd version of walter white, i like that
by the name title of this clip i thought he is going to tell interesting stories how actors aaron paul and brian cranston got their roles or smth like that :(
Vince is awesome. And Lisa's laugh is the cutest ever
seriously. it's amazing how humble he is. I fucking love Vince Gilligan. He's a genius.
This is the best writing I've seen on TV in FOREVER. TY for this fantastic show.
vince: * sees teenager telekinetically tear off old guy's shirt for juicy fruit *
vince (through tears): "he's... _perfect"_
Exactly. I don't find Skylar annoying at all, and I can actually understand her. Maybe I'm just grown up. First season the only charachter I disliked was Marie and I think it was meant that way too. But she became tolerable as episodes and seasons went by. I've always thought there's not a single charachter who shouldn't be on the show. It's the perfect show. And I was so glad when Conan said the same thing too about trying to find flaws and there was none.
I've noticed that too. Just caught up with all the episodes, and I really really feel bad for Skyler now. I feel bad for everyone except Walt, but that's the point. Vince has said that he wanted to show that actions have consequences, and he hates when people do bad things and get away with it. So needless to say, Walt is going to get what's coming to him... what he really does deserve. I hope that he redeems himself a bit though, he really isn't an evil person. And he did kick a lot of ass. :)
I've just realised that when she says "I'll be whatever kind of partner you want me to be" it's a parallel of Spooge's girlfriend that Jesse goes to, er, visit... I like how self-reflecting BB is, this guy and his writers are magic
"Lose their way..." oh, like The X-Files, Vince? Remember how the first five seasons were so awesome? :/
I'd say that the X-files were good enough up until 8th season. And it ended perfectly right there.
Except she did own up to her actions. In Crawl Space basically the first thing she did was apologise to Walt after telling him what she'd done. She said herself how they're both dangerous people in series 5a because Ted nearly died because of her - I believe the exact quote was 'I have blood on my hands too'. And she was never in denial over her money laundering. She's not perfect and she's done a lot of bad things but she's clearly the victim of Walt's actions.
This guy is an absolute genius. I would watch anything he'll make. And he's not bad looking either for a guy who's pushing 50
Give this guy every show he needs
Dude has either helped write or created three of my all time favorites now - X Files (with Chris Carter), BB and BCS. His stuff has been excellent. I look forward to seeing what he does after BCS. Hopefully he continues with a new project.
You're goddamn right! Except for a few exceptions ("The Wire" comes to mind, "The Good Place" was perfect too), I can't find any series that get close to "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul"... To the point, nowadays, I just prefer rewatching those instead of watching whatever bullshit pops up on Netflix.
Vince Baelish
hahaha that's pretty accurate
Even the voice
One of the best comments I've ever seen on youtube. I'm not even exaggerating.
Vince looks a very kind person!!
2:04 wish Game of Thrones directors had the same way of working.
♥ Vince Gilligan, a genius!!
Lisa was so adorable cracking up.
I wish Vince get's to do more work, has all creative liberties and no strings-attached, cause God knows TV needs him.
lisa kudrow and your cute little laugh
Lisa Kudrow's laugh is one of the best things ever.
I'm pretty sure that most people sympathised with Gale's death actually. I definitely did.
what a nice guy. And he brought us one of the greatest shows of all time. :D
I love how Phoebie is just laughing hysterically in the background.
0:43 I think Keith Richards sits down with a warm glass of milk when he watches BrBa.
SKYLER: some day somebody will come to knock on that door coming to harm you-
WALTER: I am the one who knocks!
The first 30 seconds is exactly what ended up happening with Game of Thrones (including the cameo part).
I'm not sure if I fully agree with you. Whilst the concept of a thousand shades of grey was definitely true at least for seasons 1-4, I think one of the great things about this show is Walt's evolution. I think, by the end of the first half of S5, there's not much grey left in Walt, it's all black. I most certainly look down on him now, as of series 5. How he got there is part of why BB is so great. I've always sympathised with Skyler and so even more in S5.
Man, Lisa Kudrow is delightful! Lmao. She is cracking herself up!
Thanks for your comments! Yeah, I agree with you, that's the concept génial of the show that's been clearly stated by Vince since the very beginning of it (love how the show teaches spoiler-hating people that it's not what happens that matter, but how it happens). But we'll still have the memories, right? Like the character himself. Was it at the beginning of episode 1 of season 5 that we saw him celibrating his 52nd birthday alone with bacon and eggs in that café alongside the road? I think...
Vince Gilligan is HEISENBERG
point(s) taken. but gilligan himself has said repeatedly that the show's objective is to turn walter into a figure for reviling. he may be calling shots now after a lifetime of being a loser, but he's also killing and poisoning the innocent. as for skylar, how would you feel if the person you thought you knew best for nearly 20 years became a psychotic, emotionally abusive narcissist in about a year's time? you might act in a way that could be perceived as annoying, i'd imagine
i didnt , he knew what he was getting into and was very oblivious to the dangers. Darwin award
vince gilligan is the man. breaking is the best show ever made
Skylar - "There is nothing you can say that will convince me there won't come a day where someone knocks on that door looking to harm you, or me, or all of us."
Walt - "I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS!"
Oh man, it's gonna suck having to wait a year for the second half of the season, but it will definitely be worth it.
Pride. All of the characters in Breaking Bad seem to put a lot of weight on their own moral principles, which is why the stakes ride so high and the interactions are so strong.
Totally agree! Such a smashing bloke. Great exemplar..
Walt and Gretchen used to be Involved. he left Grey Matter and broke up with Gretchen in the same move, but his reasoning for leaving has yet to be revealed; Gretchen and Elliot got together AFTER Walt left.
It's always good to admit that even if you don't like a character, they're right or they have good qualities and you just don't like them and won't justify why you don't like them. It annoys me when someone tries to make half assed reasons why they don't like a good character, it's so much better to just say "I acknowledge their good traits, but I just don't like them, I dunno why."
DUDES, they will SO totally make Walt's loto ticket WIN, I just thought of it but it's perfect! No one would ever question the money!
I've always thought that they wrote themselves into corners and Vince just admitted it,but that's not a bad thing at all,in fact, it's one of the best things about this show,it's what makes it better than most shows out there,if not all. They also always leave little hints, easter eggs, and just flat-out foreshadow what's gonna happen,my prediction for the end is that Walt will die in a shootout with that machinegun he bought in the very first episode."Say Hello to my little friend!"He'll say that.
omg a new scene that I haven'[t seen yet, awesome
Encouraging to finally see a comment in support of Skyler that actually has thumbs up. I think the Skyler haters simply don't understand a massive portion of the show. I can understand a dislike of Skyler (although i don't agree with it) but the unmitigated hate she gets speaks of people who only watch this show on the simplest of levels.
That just gives me chills man:p
the fact that they write these shows more or less on the fly is impressive as all get-out.
Thank you for the thoughtful reply (somewhat a rarity these days). You may well be right about their reason for being dismissive of Skylar and others. Glad to see the actress playing her finally got the Emmy she had earned.
My personal problem with Skyler is she never really had any faith in Walt - her first thought, while he's dying of cancer, was that he must be cheating on me. Then she finds out that he's cooking meth and further distances herself from him and while they're still married she cheats on him. Later she decides to get involved and launder the money for him - she's helpful for once. Then things sour, Walt does what he has to do - kills Gus. Somehow that translates to 'I'm afraid of him'. No faith.
I loved season 5! And I felt really sorry for her, I don't know what I would do in her position. Take the kids and leave probably, though she tried that unsuccessfully... I honestly fear for her life against Walter, hopefully he turns things around before the end.
man i love her laugh
I like how he subtly suggests that his head is made of wood.
Agreed, although I've never seen Mad Men (that's Betty Draper, right?)
I clicked for Vince, I stayed for Lisa's laugh...
omg I love Lisa's laugh
I think she is,but I can feel for her and see where she is coming from and why.
You call it 'whining'. I call it depression and realism. She wants to get her kids away from Walt, and to a lesser extent herself, and she's completely right in this. She is terrified of her sociopath, muderous, meth-dealing husband, and she should be. She's depressed thanks to the current situation, and who wouldn't be? I find Skyler to be one of the most sympathisable characters on the show. Like everyone she is not perfect but I really feel for her.
And a Nobel prize, and a medal of honor.
Long side with David Chase he will go down as best TV - writter ever..
I did too, but there's at least a fair share of people who only see Walt as this badass guy and they don't sympathize with the other characters (i.e. Skylar), because they're in Walt's way, or they're annoying, etc.
3:12 Our children are not in danger, they are the danger. 🤣
It's not that people want her off the show, they just see things from Walt's point of view. From his perspective, she seems like an irrational crazy person. When you take a minute to look at things from her point of view, she's maybe the most sane person on the show.
Skyler knew about Walt's meth cooking about a season before she got the car wash, so it doesn't really make sense to say that she didn't report Walt to the DEA because she was getting a high from owning a car wash. She also initially refused the money, so it's not that either. I wouldn't have stayed quiet either, but Skyler didn't want her family to be destroyed, and throughout series 3 she had no vested interests with this. It was a bad decision, but understandable.
“I’ll stay but the children go” thinking about it now, that does sound kind of odd lol
Should have used the "I am the one who knocks!" scene!
For me Lost is my favourite show ever, but Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones are right behind it.
Agreed! I can understand why people would dislike Skyler in the earlier seasons, but not now. She's got a sociopath, meth-dealing, murderous husband who is effectively keeping her prisoner and her life in under constant threat from all the drug dealing. It baffles me that people think Skyler is in the wrong for wanting to get her kids away from that, or that Skyler is the horrible one for wanting her amoral husband to finally die and leave her broken family in peace.
Thank you very much! It's a little like painting. Have to concentrate to make it good.
(cont) Also, Skyler's actions are usually in the interest of the family. She laundered the money to stop the DEA from investigating the money laundering and landing Walt and herself in prison. She keeps Walt away from the kids, as she should, and sacrifices her relationship with her son to do so. She doesn't report Walt to the DEA because she doesn't want her family ripped apart. Meanwhile, Walt's motives have been purely his pride and ego for a while now.
Ive been watching that, along with Breaking Bad, too!
You're right, maybe there's still a little bit of Walt left. He's treating Skyler horribly but he still cares about his kids and Jesse to a lesser extent. I'd probably agree with you with the whole 95% 5% thing.
A sociopath does not have empathy, and only cares for himself. Walt on the other hand only started his whole criminal career to support his family. His motives were unselfish. In the process he became a ruthless criminal, but not because he is a sociopath, but because this was the only way for him to survive in that world. A lot of criminals are sociopaths, but not all of them. Besides if you are a sociopath, you show the first signs as a child, no one "develops" sociopathy at the age of 50.
That line may actually be foreshadowing it. In some twist, maybe Walt will be the one knocking on the door looking to harm them.
