CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Edward (Jack Nicholson) gives a heartfelt eulogy at Carter's (Morgan Freeman) funeral.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman star as two terminally ill cancer patients who decide to break out of the hospital and live their last days to the fullest in director Rob Reiner's seriocomic road movie. Edward Cole (Nicholson) is a corporate billionaire who is currently sharing a hospital room with blue-collar mechanic Carter Chambers (Freeman). Though initially the pair seems to have nothing in common, conversation gradually reveals that both men have a long list of goals they wish to accomplish before they kick the bucket, and an unrealized desire to discover what kind of men they really are. But one can't accomplish such lofty objectives from the confines of a hospital bed, so now, in order to live their lives to the absolute fullest, Edward and Carter will have to make a break for it. With a checklist that includes playing the poker tables in Monte Carlo, consuming copious amounts of caviar, racing the fastest machines on four wheels, and much more, these two terminally ill men will do their best to fit a lifetime of experience into their last remaining days while forging an unlikely, but truly remarkable, friendship.

Most underrated character of the movie is Matthew (Thomas). Guy was loyal to the end; he even climbed a damn mountain for his dead boss to finish the bucket list. Respect.
Exactly! He is so loyal to Edward Cole. 🤧Such an emotional movie!
Didn’t know anything else and like Alfred from Batman probably inherited a lot and felt obligated
Rich people with no actual heirs tend to leave their wealth to the people who helped them build it, which is probably they way it should be
And the rest to charity so maybe someone actually remembers them
@@codypk5111 He had a daughter and granddaughter
"I think the simplest thing is I love him, and I miss him." That line makes me cry so hard. When my best friend died no one really knew how hard it hit me, and to this day its really hard for me to watch this because of that line. I still love him, and I still miss him.
Connor Lowe switch 2 her.
what???
Can't get over this part
Same. Lost my best friend when I was on the other side of the country. I got him a job with me. He was supposed to start a week later. "He" called me one morning. I hit the FU bottom. "He" called back and left a message. It was his sister from his phone asking me to call her back ASAP. I knew then.
Guys at work tried doing the not notice I was teary eyed. Told them I didn't care, he earned those tears over two decades of being my friend.
To this day, still miss him.
Saw this movie today in school ,really effective. No one walked out of that class without a broken heart.
good teacher
Such a beautiful movie, amazing chemistry between Jack & Morgan. Rather than any old casting they put two legends together and the sincerity, depth, humour and real character showed, I was so lost in the story it had me choked at the end. Such a great story and a good lesson about what matters, finding your Joy.
Sam Blonde Really cause he lost his quinn over this twice. Anne Hathaway can kiss GONAZZO but & mine cause the mermaid @ Disney movie is a NO. Marvel movies: NO & you all know why! I was pregnant with Hiro Tobias and now he has the same blood as me and last hope.
Fiery one actual birthday 7/31/03, my NICu doctor present & heard....
Awe... You cut off my favourite line!
It was supposed to say
"I know that when he died, his eyes were closed and his heart was open. And I'm pretty sure he was happy with his final resting place, because he was buried on the mountain. And that was against the law."
joanna lo whose law? Any idea what that man has really been through, switch 2 her.
@Ban this youtube they never said it was everest
@Ban this youtube it was in the himalayas but definitely not everest, not to mention the peak of everest has all kinds of flags and trinkets on it, unlike this mountain
@@nathanlatham5651 Could have been Everest, as was implied in the Movie, just not the peak..... Or it could have been another mountain with a view of Everest.
Point is, calling for a comment to be banned, just because you personally disagree with it, is really rather pathetic.
@@petert3355might’ve been K2
Thats Morgan Freemans actual service portrait...USAF 1955 ...18yo

@@DK-gl3ih Yeah, he was.
I haven't cried for over twenty years, but I did cry whole night after watching this scene and hearing this speech. Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman indeed are two greatest living actors in world. And this movie cemented that status. Every single scene and every single line in this movie are already immortal.
Fatima Ahmad ,
I believe that life and death are two parts of the same coin. You cannot have one without the other, nor appreciate it as much. My dad passed two days ago, and l am happier than l could imagine. He was a true inspiration to all who met him on this journey called Life. He just treated me like his friend🤧
I bet you slept like a baby that night.
"The last months of his life were the best months of mine." That line STILL CHOKES ME UP! My father was watching this just after my mother died. I am so glad I got away before this scene, or we both would have been blubbering! Jack Nicholson, you're the best!
A wonderful film. The eulogy/speech always gets to me
masterpiece. wonderful actors
My father and I have gotten closer since my mother died, and I may use that line, "The last months of his life were the best months of mine," at his service when I eulogize him. I just hope that's not for awhile yet! I love you, Dad!
vccstudents ,
using this video clip to write my dad’s eulogy for next week.
I left it all behind, moved to his state, so l could enjoy him these last 2 years. Best and wisest move l’ve made. He was, after all, my mentor as well as my friend.
Holding back the tears. :-(
Whenever I watch this
Holding back tears? My friend, that's a battle I always lose by the end of Edward's eulogy
Same here dude
This movie is beyond sad. ironically it has one of the funniest lines uttered in cinema.
"I have some advice for you when you get to be my age, Don't pass up a bathroom, don't waste a hard-on, and never trust a fart.
Eva's DDs I’ll remember that as I approach decripitude!
It's really sad that such great actors like Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson will eventually die for real.
Oh man, just when I thought I was couldnt cry, I did. Got to be the most underrated movie ever.
I honestly don't understand why this has bad ratings and lame movies like "Easy A" have good ones. This was so much more beautiful and deeper.
This movie changes lives
Because sites like rotten tomatoes are cucked and rigged by Disney
This got bad rating??
@@a4arick106 yeah... shame on them I guess.
I remember this movie being mentioned in Shoe Dog (a book by the founder of Nike, Phil Knight), today I finally got to see it, and it gets you thinking...
This movie is special, and it reminds me a little of The Great Gatsby so you might want to give it a chance!
That acting is top class and moving to watch. It couldn't have been done better by anyone else.
Everyone has to watch this movie at some point in their life at least once. I absolutely loved it.
'' The last months of his life were the best of mine, he saved my life and he knew before i know.'' Best ❤️❤️
one of the best movies ever...
c perre No, it’s not, and it’s not even close
I thought that Edward crossed that item because Edward helped Carter to witness the world and offered him a trip. Well... he crossed the item off when he mentioned they were complete stranger.
Now, after years, I find that it turns out to be: they are helping each others.
Edward helped Carter to discover the truth that he should live for himself
while
Carter helped Edward to know the truth that he cannot live by himself.
It's only too bad Jack Nicholson retired from acting nearly a decade ago, but I am glad he is still alive at age 82. I hope he is fine.
The feels man... it's strong in this movie!
The ending always brings tears to my eyes. This is one of the better movies but I've seen in a long time. I hope in my lifetime I find a friend as good as Carter.
One of the greatest movies that I have ever seen...Edward and Carter characters are so beautifully enacted by two of best actors of Hollywood.
I never saw this movie but just seeing the ending scene made me cry
Same happend with me
One of the best movies I have ever seen, Jack and Morgan deserve all they have:)
For me this movie was one of great emotion and beauty showcasing a story that's the very best of Hollywood! It forces you to confront the inevitability of your own mortality and, like its title, provides great insights into what's really important during the few decades of life we have on this spinning ball of iron. Everyone should add this movie to their own bucket list.
Loved Sean Hayes in this flick had a sorta bicentennial man vibe in which "one is glad be of service... And it's been a honor serving you..." Feel
Probably one of the most underrated films I've seen
Even a complete stranger to you can be your best friend
My dad died 7 months ago, I love him and miss him everyday. When he said, "I love him, and I miss him everyday", it made me cry. It reminded me of my father
Great movie with great message!!
Incredible acting throughout this movie...
This was the first movie that almost made me shed a tear since saving private Ryan
the melody at the end breaks the mood, its like putting a commercial in the second a film is over
This bit every time has me in tears...
Ive never lost a friend or close relative yet and i hope i never do and this makes me realize how precious life is
This movie make me cry and this video to.. i never see a movie like this.. greetings from Argentina!
My favorite movie of all time x
God damn it, I'll miss Jack Nicholson.
The bucket list is one of the , if not The BEST film I have seen.
It is a film with meaning and great love that comes from two totally different worlds that end up as one, every body will take a bit of the movie with them through life because its about all of us at some stage in our lives.
I dont think any two actors other than these two
would have done the storyline justice the way that these two did.
John Laccohee-Joslin This film was mediocre
He saved my life and he knew it before i did. Everytime i see this scene it gets me crying
this movie is so gorgeous, also both actors.i love this movie.
Only film i have ever cried at :) Beautiful film :)
Thank you Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.
This scene was so emotional 😭 and heart breaking 💔
God, this movie WRECKS me EVERY TIME :(
Dam. This movie made me cry...this was beautiful❤❤❤

that.s really really good movie i.m was crying ending movie just save his life whole clip for everybody thank you watched this movie just came Netflix watch over over again that song by john mayer song say is best music video every 2007 is really old movie
It astonishes me how a movie with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson can be so criminally underrated.
Jack Nicholson really is an amazing actor
Every single scene from this film is just perfect, the chemical between these two gents is just amazing!! And to be honest I must say that I've watched this movie several times, and even when I know almost all of the script, it makes me shed a few tears... Thank you both gents for giving the world this wonderful film!!
It’s a mediocre film, with a weak script, but great performances. The critics were spot on.
Love this movie
Sorry to hear that man... hope he stays strong and keep your head up. He would have wanted you to even if he wasn't around. Think of it that way.
Why is this movie badly rated? WTF?
Because people are assholes
Because people are shit
Crooked Man Because the film has a terrible pace. Most of the characters' decisions are not justified, so as his personalities' evolutions. Just remember how the Jack Nicholson character received a call from Morgan Freeman's wife after which he realized the wife deserved to be with his husband, and less than five minutes later, he changes his mind just because Morgan Freeman refuses to listen to him, which he finally does. Also, much of the dialogue is cheesy, there are no narrative counterparts to what the two of them think or say about their relatives, and I think a movie full of epiphanies, like this one, in the end, cheapens them, and they feel useless. They seem to have an almost-divine revelation every five minutes.
That is not to say I didn't like movie. I enjoy it more than most of the other feel-good movies, and Rob Reiner's direction is quite good, but I think I understand the complains about it.
true
Jon Strkgryn Theyre a bunch of poopers. Put poopers auto spell replaced with loopers. Now whose cr👀zy.....History teacher favorite teacher. Good man huge ❤
It was one of the most touching movies they both have been in. Bless both those men. Thanks guys
To great actors at there very best what legends and great truth in that this scene
Such a Wonderful Movie! ♥️
My late wife loved this movie we watched together a few times and I miss her daily lost her a few months over 4 years now watching clips like these bring back happy memories and always remember "never trust a fart".
What a moving speech.. I really love Jack! A great movie!
Favorite movie🙏🏽

RIP in peace robert deniro and phil lamarr
Such a great movie
A great film
Watched this movie on my 18th birthday thinking it was going to be fun. I've been having an existential crysis ever since.
Made me laugh and cry.
Awesome movie
Thanks! That means a lot!
At first i was thinking that they would give a homeless man some help. But when he crossed out that part after his speech.. damn i didnt see that coming. This movie is one of the best life lesson movie for me. And also click movie.
This scene just destroys me every time. Epic scene and amazing acting.
This is the first time I saw a Jack Nicholson film.
His true voice...
That's the best movie
Find what matters - and this 'what' isn't anything you can buy, steal or con your way towards
Witness something truly majestic... I hope this movie counts
This film made me fill up, not afraid to say it 😄
I stop myself from crying by imagining him taking a plate of fried egg and throwing it with brute force against a wall shouting "I SAID OVER EASY!" after the speech
Fawk, I love this movie.
Is there anyone who didn't cry while watching this
Yea, Siskel and Ebbert.
i honestlty hope that these two are friends in real life.
Can't believe jack was all ready around 70 in this time
I'm not crying, you're crying
Great movie
Jackie Chen No, it really isn’t, the acting is incredible, but it’s heavily marred by a weak screenplay and poor pacing.
The feel... it hits like a truck.
Best live action Smithers portrayal ever!
I cannot watch movies like this it just breaks my heart and makes me think of my grampads dead :(
Scene like this can't be acting. Jack is not acting. These are true emotions. Movie is so emotional that he can't contain his sadness that movie is having sad ending.
Ngl this ending made me tear up
Friendship...... :)
Bromance😍😎
Delivered only as Jack could do it!
does someone know where to find the german version of this?
I think the hardest part about this scene is that some day they will be gone and that’s something I don’t want to think about that for a long time “I go to my final resting place” I don’t want to think about it
For whatever reason, I’m not sure why, this always gets me to jerk a tear.
merci
Thats will be my monologue in the class
