This song has a political hint , the lyrics can be fully understood only by Moldovan and Romanian citizens, even if the lyrics would be translated to English , one wouldn't understand the meaning of the song , if you don't know the history of Moldova and Romania. The meaning is that there are these two countries Romania and Moldova that in the past was one country , united and divided for several times throughout the history. The train shows that the passenger takes off from Chisinau (Moldova's capital city ) and travels to Bucuresti (Romania's capital city), they say that it looks like you go abroad, because we have different passports and have to pass the customs at the border , but at the same time they say it is like going from home to the same home, because we have the same language, the same traditions and the same history, the same kings in the past. They never pronounce in the song the names of the countries but this song is a programming for the reunification of these two countries. The traveler says that we are brothers but see each other one time in a hundred years , this phrase also has a political hint because once in a hundred years Moldova and Romania unite again in a single country , or divide again into two countries. That carpet has on it the portrait of the Great Stephan , a king of to both Moldova and Romania in 15 hundreds. And was a hero, and declared saint because he protected the orthodoxy , during his rule years he was in 50 battles against the Otoman Empire from which he won 47 of them. So it is a National hero for both Moldova and Romania. This song definitely sounds strange for foreigners but is plays with the feelings of both moldovans and romanians. It has a greater emotional charge than it seems at first sight.

in moldavia si parla il rumeno, ed è molto più facile di quanto pensi, direi che potrebbe essere anche più facile dell'italiano.
E comunque si, si parla anche il russo visto che è un ex paese dell'unione sovietica.

The official language of the Republic of Moldova is Romanian, because Moldova was once part of Romania. It's just that Moldovans have a different accent than Romanians, a Russian accent. The Russian accent is due to Russian rule, the Russians once separated Moldova from Romania and Russified, but now Moldova is an independent country that wants to reunite with Romania. The song is in Romanian and talks about the union of the two countries.

    Oh, Advahov!

    Gigi, how long has passed!

    Departing!

    From one country to another
    It is going but confused:

    Both together and apart
Are there two? Or just one part?

    Hey ho, Let's go!
    Folklore and Rock'n'roll.
The train's route is East to West
    Chisinau - Bucharest.

    Oh-oh...

Both in that land and in this
    We dance hora - it's a bliss
    And in each country within
    Magic's made with violin
When the train gets to a stand
Feels like almost the same land
Feels like went without a change
    Home-to-home. What an exchange!

    - No!
    - And what if I find any?
    - Gonna share with you then!

Hy guys. I want to avoid to comment what happened during the voting process at Eurovision Song Contest 2022. For sure, this song is not a " piece of art ". It doesn't knock you down with a complex melodically line and lyrics to induce a complex emotional state.. It's just an explosion of basic, simple, yet, overwhelming joy. What's for sure is that this song will be one of the 2022's huge market hit. You'll hear it (and dance it) where ever there will by a crowd joined together to have a good time and a smashing party. For sure, Zdob si Zdub & the Advahov Bros will make a lot more money out of this song than the Kalush Orchestra. We just received a crazy enough remedy to help us go along such crazy times that we are living now
We should be thankfully for that

Moldovans speak Romanian, but have their particular accent. Btw, almost all the words of this song have latin roots, but they have their own "story".
Merge trenul, parcă zboară, (merge from mergere, tren - treno, parca - (mi) pare que, zboara - exvolare)
Dintr-o țară-n altă țară. (dintr-o - di inter/intro, sort of like italian "dentro" , alta - alter, tara - terra)
Merge și nu poate pricepe: (nu poate - potere (meaning "doesn't have the power to"), pricepe - percipere)
Care țară? Unde-ncepe? (care - quale, (de) unde - like spanish "donde" from unda. incepe - incipere)
Țară veche, țară nouă, (you know what veche means, noua - nova )
    Parcă-i una, parcă-s două.
Ba aparte, ba-mpreună, (aparte - parte (italian has appartenenza), impreuna - "in pre una" )
Parcă-s două, parcă-i una." (-s is short for sunt, in italian it would be "Mi pare che sono due, mi pare che e una")
    This translates to:
The train is moving, seems like its flying,
    From one country to another.
Its moving but it can't understand:
what's the country? where does it start?
    Old country, new country,
Its like they're one, its like they're two.
    Apart, or together,
Its like they are two, its like they are one.
