Wow, that was startlingly dark. I really would've loved it in the movie though, it adds a lot of depth, and really shows character development on Pocahontas' part
Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz made The Hunchback of Notre Dame into a stage musical and Stephen Schwartz made The Prince of Egypt into a stage musical and Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz should also make Pocahontas into a stage musical and this song should be in it between Savages 1 and 2!

I think this would be perfect for a the stage...I think they've got enough extra music to totally make a stage show and this song would add a darker twist to things!

Me before watching this video: oh, a deleted scene from my all-time favorite Disney film! Awesome! Me after watching this video: why did I watch this, I was having so much fun today...
This is awesome - anytime Judy Kuhn gets to sing more is great :D And what's interesting, is that in my soundtrack, in the lyrics for Savages Reprise, they have this. Go figure :lol
that last note was SO SPOOKY!! "is it only death that waits.... just around the RIVER BEND!" that was sooo scary...i think they should have stuck to the same key as the original song and not go into like that e flat note or something lol

I'd have liked it if they kept this in the movie (really haunting reprise!) although I guess they would have had to do something else than the Savages scene then which would take away a lot from the movie. I'm rather torn about this.

If Disney makes a stage version of Pocahontas, this needs to be reinstated. It adds a whole lot of depth to both the story and Pocahontas' character.
We need reanimated version

i really wish they would've kept this in! in my opinion, it would gone well in before savages (part 2) begins.
Disney released the soundtrack as part of the Legacy Collection, and this was immediately before Savages part 2...
@@mattiapaterlini6219 I'm not quite sure what you mean.
Totally agree

This is perfect for the film. I don't know why they have to cut this. If they are worrying about running time, i don't mind an extra minute with this.
this goes before "Savages (part 2)", but it seems that there was no Savages (part 1) as this video starts with "If I never knew you" last notes.
I wondered why the music at the beginning sounded familiar
I love that you can hear the very last notes of "If I Never Knew You" at the very beginning of the video

This song is so creepy!
true
the reprise version of just around the riverbend was in my school play of pocahontas

I like this! Maybe they should’ve kept it!
it's so mystery. i love it....
Looks like they changed the lyrics and moved it to her part in Savages :)
I would have loved this is the movie
wow, this is really sad, even dark a bit,
i like it, but maybe not for children in the movie
Happy Birthday Pocahontas 🎂🎈🎁🎉🎊🥳
So true.
Wish this made the movie (it makes the song stronger) along with a few others like Middle of the River.
That is so sad!
The original lyrics can be seen in the lyric book.
@ShakespeareHamlet I think it was, but don't hold me to it. Either that or the "gold box" laserdisc set.
Anyone knows where to download this for free?
@illinifan512 I agree!! It sounds like she's completely lost hope.
That gave me chills. Why did they cut this?!
Maybe it was dark to mention death
They should've kept this in. Maybe if disney ever re-releases this movie, they could create this and put it in. It'd be great.

Wow, that would've been pretty hardcore.
Really nice, too freaky for a childs movie tho. It actually reminded me of Sally's song from Nightmare before christmas, don't know why tho?
@ShakespeareHamlet no..it's not. if it is.. I didnt find it on menu XD
Me too.
0:15 to 0:26 The only truth of life
@ElmoAboob123 That's probably the reason they cut it. Waayy too creepy, you know??
