Just wanted to thank you. I've played many driving sims over past 6 ish yrs using logitech G 27, then g923, but then racing for a yr with a DD wheel and rig. Which for the first 6 months I was just enjoying racing for fun on all the sim racings titles. Then I started to try and race with a more serious side. I found ACC so different with DD than my old G923 and struggled to make any serious gains and left it alone for many months - until I decided to pick up ACC on weekend and used this video to make a setup that worked. Thank you, I can now understand the settings that make car feel so much more real and get decent times finally.. Thank you
What can I say. Have been playing ACC a while now and never got to grips with the setups. Literally given up several times and come back because I love rl racing and sim racing. For the first time I actually feel in control of my bloody car. This guy assumes you don't know anything but gives you enough knowledge to understand. Potential teachers, vid makers take note. Thank you mate you have just made a fellow sim racer very happy 👍🙃
Thank you! Thank you! I've just put this setup into the Lambo and knocked about 1.5 seconds of my time at Spa, down to 2:22.9!!! Thank you very much for this video ! Lots of things to learn ! 😄 I would just point out one thing : if you feel that you car is turning too much on the acceleration, instead of increasing the TC, I would recommend to increase the preload diff, because on your baseline, the diff is REALLY open, so it could be a reason why your car is unstable under acceleration
From my limited time on ACC all what you say rings true with what I have experienced making my own setups. The one thing I found on my Ferrari 296 is that if I raise the front end until I get a zero reading in the Aero balance the car is immediately more stable . I have just recently changed my FOV settings from the usual 46 to 56 range and gone up to 78 . This has given me a far better perspective overall. With the old setting the cars around me all look to big for the track and the new setting makes everything look more real and makes cornering much easier. I race from my bed with all the sim gear including the screen attached to a Woden console table on wheels which rolls over my bed to give my driving position. To me the track comes alive at the new FOV and it really works well for me. Thanks for your excellent videos and my very best wishes Brian.
Excellent video and made setup so much easier. Dropped my PB in the Aston, 296 and M4 by a second around Bathurst. I had to drop the rear wing by quite a lot though for this track.
i wasn´t suspecting this.... but 1-2 sec faster on my favorite tracks (which I can drive a little bit) than usual shuts me up. Even without finetuning.... Juste the baseline... this is sick :D Big Thanks Dude

I am new to ACC and sim racing and still using a controller (a wheel is on the way) and I found your settings to be perfect first time. Funny that I found your video as I have been trying cars out to see what I like and what suits my driving, and have only just settled on the Mclaren 720 2 days ago and with your settings it looks good around Mount Panorama. From a lot of other videos that I have watched they seem to recommend sticking with 1 car. PS. With your easy to understand explanation I subscribed to your channel too.
Thank you! Great to hear, that it helped you. 👍 Sticking with 1 car, at least for a while is good advice for sure. When I started ACC I was trying every car as well and was driving the old Audi for the first couple of weeks. I then settled on the old 720S and just stuck with that. I'm now really happy with the Evo as well. 😄
Absolutely love this video. Never got my head around setup because it was too overwhelming. I used this guide and man I feel in control of the car (on some tracks). Still struggling to find the right setup for Hungry. Car is oversteering like crazy
Shared across my communities, it is overwhelming because it’s such a great sim but some cars default set up make me feel like idk how to drive. But this is phenomenal!!
Thanks for this video. In my very first lap on the Nurburgring I was able to improve by a second and improved it to 1.5 over a few more laps. I’m always quicker in VR for some reason and then I was able to improve by 2.5 seconds.
Amazing @HDeeRacing! Switched from a setup what I thought was ok and been half a second faster. Still at 1.53 at Monza but slowly getting faster. Thanks a lot
Thank you for this video. Very well explained. I already knew of these settings, but this explains why they work You have a new subscriber. Again Thanks.
Nicely done HDee, the absence of hype is most welcome. I personally like a car to be more pointy. Also, each track comes with its own peculiarities that you need to deal with (eg Spa with Au Rouge and section 2). Interestingly, at Bathurst (Mount Panorama) I found it super useful to reduce fast rebound on the dampers (especially the rear). This made the car more settled going over Skyline and into the Esses and the Dipper - a scary part of the track. This works because it loosens up the rebound and the wheels are free to return back to the road much faster, giving you more traction sooner through the bumps. It also softens the car's response to the bumps and reduces that nasty skipping you get with tight suspension. This trick should also work at bumpy tracks like Oulton. Cheers.👍
Not gonna lie, I was sceptical... but I also use the 720S GT3 Evo and Barcelona is one of my favourite tracks but I only ever managed a 1:46.5 and could never get close to that after, with a 1:47.0 being seemingly impossible to hit. I tried this setup and once my tyres were warm, I hit a 1:46.2! This setup makes the steering feel weird when you're so used to something else but it also makes the car sooo much easier to handle when getting oversteer! I almost felt like I was drifting out of some of these corners, it was so smooth! Now to try it on the 992 GT3R, as that car is notoriously hard to handle...
Well done , and thanks ;) I don't even have the game or a wheel yet! Used to sim race a few years back and decided to get back into it . I will re visit when I have my setup.
Wirklich super! Like und Abo dagelassen. Meine neue PB kommt noch als Video bei mir 😀
Aaaand sorry fürs Deutsch, here the same in english 🙂 Thanks a lot for this video. I've always tried to do it realistically and have heard that there are meta-settings... I've been fighting (sporadically) for weeks on the 1:54.X for the Nürburgring and have just pushed my PB from 1:55.8 to 1:54.5 after 5 laps with your setup. And that's pretty decent! And I've realized that there's still more potential. Really great! Liked and subscribed. My new PB will be posted as a video 😀
Great video. Wish I’d seen this BEFORE I spent a small fortune on a Coach Dave subscription ! When I bought the package I was so excited to see an improvement on my Safe and Aggressive setup times, they never came. Maybe it’s just because I’m new to ACC ? I will persevere with CD’s base setups and use your info here to tweak further. Fingers crossed 🤞
If you're new, just take your time. I've heard a lot of pros say, that a good setup is not that much of an improvement over the aggressive setup. There is way more time to gain by getting more experienced. What a custom setup can help with is with confidence and consistency.
Hello and thank you so much for all your help, although im not into multiplayer races, i do like a single player race and time trial, i play with a controller, and all these set u ps you have done, have done me proud indeed, thanks so much, i liked and subbed :)
Thanks HDee for all of the help. This video was exactly what I was looking for. Any tips/adjustments for increasing top speed for tracks with long straights? Thanks again!
Sure thing! I have gotten that question a couple of times now and will make a follow up video and go into more detail. Short answer: reduce rear wing and lower rear right height to compensate. If the rear still feels unstable, use the other adjustment options as well.
thanks for such thorough explanation guide. My question is. Because so many different adjustment lead to OS/US. (i.e Toe, bumpstop range, rake) which one do you adjust first? Subsequently which one do you adjust after?
I usually start from the Aero Tab and work my way left. So Mechanical Grip next, then Electronics if necessary and tires last (apart from pressures, I set those at the beginning)
Good video...one thing i still dont know...id what fuel to have to make online race and if we need to refill in pitstops and how much we need and where we set those?
For fuel, look at your consumption while practicing - it will be some amount of liters per lap. You can then either use one of the many online fuel calculators or do some math based on average consumption and lap time. For refueling, look at the Fuel tab in the setup screen. You can already prepare your pitstops there. Or do it in the race in the MFD.
@@HDeeRacing hello and thank you. Yes do math but i dont know if i need to refill during pitstops or normally ppl take the all amount of fuel right from the begining? Preferably i ment...
@@pedro.veia1977 Depends on the event setup. Some require pit stops with refueling. If that's the case, you most likely want to split your overall between the two stints. Unless the race is really short, then just taking one liter at the pit stop can work too. If no refueling is required, then if possible take all the fuel up front.
These same settings? No. But the method should work the same. Though the Porsche is a special beast and might need some more adjustments in categories I didn't cover here.
You are the first person I've heard make mention of the fact that different driving styles require different setups. There is no universal "Magic Setup" for all drivers. I like a very stiff setup with very little rake. I've found most YT setups increase my lap times!
Setups are always personal in my experience. Being able to provide setups and giving everyone the knowledge to adjust themselves is one of the goals of my channel.
This works to a certain degree. IF you have knowledge about physics and car setup, you can make a really solid, stable setup for your diving style. However, the pro setups will always be so much faster. They simply exploit the bugs in the game engine and once you understand what all of the setting in the menu mean, you will see how 80% of the pro setups actually don't make sense, but they are so much faster.
It's true. Setups are complicated and every game has it's quirks and bugs that means you might want to use extreme, unrealistic values for some settings.
@@HDeeRacing Also did you talk about camera pov's? I just tried the helmet pov and it feels like a cheat code honestly. The stable cockpit one is way to narrow. Plus its easier to turn as you have sense of your steering wheel. It can probably also contribute to better lap times right? Although there is little side visibility.
So I adjusted closely to your setup. And wow. With a little bit of adjusting of cornering and braking zones. And actually trying to tail brake I was cutting at least a second each lap. Car is so well balanced now I can trow it more around without much oversteer. Plus the previous camera adjustment mentioned above. Im down from 2:30 to 2:26. And I was getting even faster after that pb but I ran out of fuel 😂. Thanks man that was very helpful.
@@kornelobajdin5889 I use the normal cockpit camera. There are a lot of FOV guides already out there, I don't think I'll make another. Use what feels best for you. For cockpit cam I can recommend the tool "Real Head Motion" however, I couldn't play without it anymore.
This is great info. I saw this on a different content creators' channel with almost the same adjustments. However, it wasn't explained in depth the way that you did for us. In fact, it wasn't explained at all. Your direction made better sense and IT WORKS!! While I have been sim racing for about three years, I am not as good at it as I should be because of my set-up limitations. Until now! This is a game changer. Thanks again. One question, am I right in assuming that the max wing takes away from my top end speed?
Thanks so much! 😊 While researching for this video I also looked at other videos on this topic and found that the general idea was very similar in some of those. But what I felt was missing, was how to adjust the setup in more detail, which is why I felt I had something to add. Great to hear that I was not completely wrong in assuming that. 😄 To your question: Yes, max rear wing does take a way top speed and acceleration. This is worth it on most tracks in most cars in ACC, but there are exceptions (Monza, Paul Richard, Spa...). I will go into more detail in an eventual part 2 for this video, but reducing rear wing on these tracks can be beneficial, but you'll have to compensate for the reduced rear grip at high speeds. Lowering rear right height is something I always do there.
On the Aston I run max TC2, I find it very stable yet fast. I can almost just smash the throttle out of many corners and it just goes, without snapping, and without eating into my acceleration. Also for many of the GT4 cars you can run TC off no problem, they are very forgiving on the throttle, I've never felt the need for anything more than 1 TC on them.
Interesting with TC2 on the Aston, haven't tried that yet. For me TC2 Off is very stable as well though. You're right for GT4s, TC at 1 is most of the time very much enough.
@@HDeeRacing For me at lower TC2 it has quite a bit of wheelspin on throttle kinda like the AMG, though maybe I'm just lead-footed or the rest of my setup is wrong. I might try making it work at lower values.
I was really looking forward to trying this setup guide, but applied it to a couple of cars and the oversteer is crazy, even taking it really easy on the warm up laps was just spinning out constantly. Unless I am missing something.
Could be a bunch of different things: The car being very oversteery to begin with, higher TC needed, other setup adjustments to reduce oversteer or maybe overdriving the car, just to name a few.
@@HDeeRacing made my McLaren so much better! Any quick tips for the gtr? It’s my favorite car I just can’t quite figure it out. But anyways love ur content!
I usually try to make the car safer, so either more wing or less rake, higher TC (ABS can actually go to 1 or 2). Less camber can also help. Would like to make a full video on the topic, but don't know if and when I'll have time for that.
What do you do for tracks with long straights that require a low wing setting? You cant really get back the aero balance from height alone, but my guess is that the soft springs help squat the back at speed. You might need less bump range up front?
Yeah, ride height is always the first thing, going as low as is needed (or sometimes possible). Stiffer front springs is the second thing I try and other than that bump stop ranges and toe.
Great info! I use similar settings, I drive with a controller =) . Question if you don't mind: Do you drive in LFM? How would you adjust this 720s EVO setup to the LFM BOP?
Thanks! Yes, I do drive in LFM (not as much as I want to right now though). You can find some recent videos in the channel and there are more to come. I haven't found the need to adjust my setups based on the LFM BOP at all yet. I feel like the added or lowered weight doesn't affect the car's balance at all, which is good. It feels to me just like driving with more or less fuel.
Very good, and huge help to enjoy the game!🙏🏻 Is it still necessery to set the ‘steer lock’ car by car? (For example the McLarens should have the ‘480’) Or do you have the ‘same steer lock’ with every car?
In my opinion it's not necessary. I just set my wheel in the driver and ingame to 900 degrees, so the steering rotation IRL and ingame match. Yes, the soft lock will technically not be correct with that, but when are you really gonna use more than 360° of wheel rotation.
In terms of bump stop ranges between front and rear. Do you know if one side is more sensitive to US/OS changes? For instance, if I need over steer going into a corner, do I notice a bigger change if I adjust the fronts? Or is it more noticeable if I adjust the rears? Or is there an equal amount of change sensitivity regardless?
You will very likely feel changes in the front bump stops more when braking / slowing down, while you will feel the rears more under acceleration. Going with extremely different values between front and rear might be a different scenario, but the general rule should still apply broadly speaking.
Thanks for this video which I think is very useful, I would like to ask you a question...After having set the basic setup and getting out on the track, the changes must be made in the order you explain in the video, right? So first front height. and rear wing, then rake then brake bias and so on right? Thank you very much in advance for your reply...😉🙏🙏🙏🙏👍
Not necessarily in that exact order, though there is nothing wrong with doing that. But I would recommend to only do one change at a time and test it's effects. Also feel free to just try extreme settings and see how that feels, that can really help you understand the nuances of the different changes.
@@HDeeRacing, Unfortunately I'm looking for a scheme to help me make changes and so far I haven't found it. I'll try to follow what you described in the video, it seems quite consistent with what I'm looking for, you start from the biggest changes up to the finest adjustments so it should be fine...Thank you very much..🙏🙏🙏
hi congratulations for the video... I wanted to ask you... but isn't the 12 wing too much? on winding tracks it penalizes me a lot, for example in Imola I can't pass the cars on the finish line.. on the contrary, the others eat me.
For me, max wing is a good baseline for most tracks. There are some, where I would lower it, like Monza or Spa. You need to compensate though, through lower rear ride height for example. I'll make a video on that eventually.
How do we know if this still works in future updates or not? is there something in the patches we need to lookout for ? How do people know this information of "this is best since XYZ patch" but the question I have is HOW do you know? How can we learn to see it ourselfs?
Since AC Evo is around the corner, I doubt that there will be any significant updates to ACC anymore. The information is based on what the community found out what works, so basically a lot of trial and error. Trying extreme values to see the effects, etc.
This still works in ACC 1.10. If you want Nordschleife specific setup tips, I made a dedicated video, because some settings are different there: ua-cam.com/video/BP18HfYhgHU/v-deo.html

Still at 1.53 at Monza but slowly getting faster.
Thanks a lot
Nice, keep at it. 👍
EXCELLENT job!!! Thanks a lot for this, life saver!!! Big differences and way more enjoyable the driving experience!!! 💪
Glad it helped!
Thank you very much for these videos, they’re really helping me and making it so much more enjoyable to drive
Great video mate, with plain and simply explanations to what can be an otherwise daunting process
Thank you, great to hear! 😊
Thanks! That baseline setup worked pretty good for the BMW!
Great to hear!
The best setup video ive ever seen. Thanks man.
Thank you. Relatively new to acc on console. This was a huge help.
Awesome, have fun. 😊
Thanks a lot man , i just had my fisrt podium on lfm with your help!
Nice work!
Wow wow wow, thank you so much. At long last I can get a car round a track and enjoy it!!!!
Only my brakes heated a lot at Imola. So im going to check your vid about brake ducts😊
Thank you for this video. Very well explained. I already knew of these settings, but this explains why they work You have a new subscriber. Again Thanks.
Great to hear!
Cheers.👍
Thanks for the advice, that should be helpful to some! 😊👍
Aaaand sorry fürs Deutsch, here the same in english 🙂
Thanks a lot for this video.
Kein Problem. 😉
Glad to hear that you had very quick sucess with this method. 👍
@@HDeeRacing I gave your setup video credits in my video description 🙂
Good video and almost identical to my base setup of the McLaren. Still, learned from your tips for adjustments for US/OS. Thanks!
Great to hear, thanks. 😊👍
You clarified setups for me, thank you.
Awesome. 😊
Excellent video,works ...thank you sir.
Tried your setup thanx .Ive tried a few base setups. I think Ill stick with yours . Good job..liked and subscribed

Brilliant.
Thank you so much for sharing some sort after setup info. 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Many thanks, great guide and easy to follow!
Glad it helped! 😊
Thank you mate this is the best video for acc setup tips
wow, just thank you. i can feel my car now !!!
Awesome! 😊
@@HDeeRacingmuch appreciated. You do great work!
Thank you for all of your work on this!
No worries. 👍
Can wait to try out...how do we set up gas values to race...does it refill during pitstops or not?
I'll refer to the answer I gave on your previous comment.
Dude Holly shit! Thank you so much for this video! This is the easiest and best way to setup that I’ve found. Thank you so much! You’ve gained my sub
Thank you and great to hear! 😊
in the end when you show your mclaren setup. why did you skip the dampers part?
thanks for such thorough explanation guide.
My question is. Because so many different adjustment lead to OS/US. (i.e Toe, bumpstop range, rake)
which one do you adjust first?
HI HdeeRacing,
Can these settings also be applied to the 2023 Porsche 992 GT3 R? Thank you so much...😉🙏🙏🙏
These same settings? No. But the method should work the same. Though the Porsche is a special beast and might need some more adjustments in categories I didn't cover here.
@@HDeeRacing 🙏🙏🙏
Great work thanks most helpful made setting up the car easier to race
Great to hear! 😊
Thank you, I really appreciate this video. Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
It's true. Setups are complicated and every game has it's quirks and bugs that means you might want to use extreme, unrealistic values for some settings.
thanks for the setup. I could lap spa at least 3 seconds faster. Plus the car is much stable and pointy at eu rouge. Its McLaren as well.
Great to hear. 😊
To your question: Yes, max rear wing does take a way top speed and acceleration.
@@HDeeRacing Thanks again from a new subscriber
@@HDeeRacing Thanks again from a new subscriber
Thanks, this video is sooo good!!
Thank you! This helped me a lot!
You're welcome!
@@HDeeRacing made my McLaren so much better! Any quick tips for the gtr? It’s my favorite car I just can’t quite figure it out. But anyways love ur content!
At every video, i feel like i m in a technical meeting with my German team mates, but it's way more fun than usual
😂
Any advice on wet setups?
Yeah great video man 👊 and that's why I just subbed , top man
Thanks! 😊
This, was a great video thanks a bunch.
Very welcome!
Very good, and huge help to enjoy the game!🙏🏻
Is it still necessery to set the ‘steer lock’ car by car? (For example the McLarens should have the ‘480’) Or do you have the ‘same steer lock’ with every car?
In my opinion it's not necessary. I just set my wheel in the driver and ingame to 900 degrees, so the steering rotation IRL and ingame match. Yes, the soft lock will technically not be correct with that, but when are you really gonna use more than 360° of wheel rotation.
@@HDeeRacingThanks HDee! I’ll experiment with that.
Thanks for the setup, help me a lot.
@@HDeeRacing thank you!
Absolutely an immense help! Lap times dropped 5 seconds just by using this setup. Now comes the tweaking and fine tuning.
You should change your name to Yoda..... Brilliant coaching video on an extremely daunting task made simple. Liked and subscribed.
