Good video! Most recommendations describe only one way. Here you show only the YES gesture for the helicopter. I recommend to add the opposite gesture: "No help needed". Everybody needs to have both gestures available. The principle is valid for many techniques, like the "undo"-button in old computers.

Every backcountry skier, snowboarder, alpinist, mountaineer, hiker, camper, hunter, etc, should take a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course! Not the same as a normal First Aid course where advanced medical care is near by. They should also carry a small First Aid kit. The first kit should be appropriate to the injuries you might encounter in the activities you are participating in. For example, a skier might not need a burn bandage, but would more likely need splints.

Your content, energy and passion you bring with the video’s is so great. Really enjoy ‘m! So thanks 🤘🏼🏂
Little extra detail for the hypothermia part - a game changer though - is to also wrap the vics head in the blanket!!! Even when wearing a helmet (with vent grooves).
(When waiting long, especially with any kind of bleeding, hypothermia might very well be the biggest concern after stopping the bleeding.)

Definitely agree with you - can't recommend the First Aid course enough, there is so much content to cover and in far more depth than I have been able to do here. Xv

Hy Xavier, thanks a lot for all the great content. Could you also maybe from time to time share some of your products that you are using maybe with a short summary what you like about them and what's not so good. i would love to see a short video about the tend you are using with your familiy. What crampons are you using, and can you show us that little pack from petzel with the short rope from the 10 ways to accessing freeride lines video. Thanks and good luck. Thomas

Hi Thomas, thank you, and yes will look into a gear list and my preferred items. Just to give you a brief overview here, I generally use the IRVIS: www.petzl.com/INT/en/Sport/Crampons/IRVIS - The Gully Ice Axe and the Rad system: www.petzl.com/INT/en/Sport/Kits/RAD-SYSTEM with the 6mm rope. But I shall look at creating a Gear list - I like that topic. Thank you. Xv

Do you happen to have any pointers or keywords helping to find a more comprehensive first aid course?
Your average first aid course is entirely geared towards people needing it as prerequisite for a drivers license and thus only cover the typical car accident situation with rescue arriving within a few minutes.
In the US there is things like the multi-day wilderness first responder trainings, but here in Europe anything equivalent either does not exist or is a very well hidden gem?

Hi @Elho sorry for the slow response. Yes - I have a great one - Dr Lucy Obolensky is an expedition medic who is incredible and helped me with the more comprehensive episodes on shoulder dislocation, and more to come. Agree the episode is a basic outline to give people an idea and as always the best is to go and do a course in person, I hope I inspire people to learn more, I don't think I give them all the info.
So check out Endeavour Medical and hopefully you can find a course that fits your needs: endeavourmedical.co.uk
      Have fun out there. Xv

Hi, out of curiosity, which country requires a first aid course before obtaining a driving licence? That is such a great idea, it’s a shame we don’t do that in the UK, more people knowing just very basic first aid could save so many lives.
