- In terms of safety in the mountains when freeridng, small details can add up to make a big difference, in this weeks episode of How To I go through some of the “little” safety routines that I put in place every time I ride, regardless of the “risk” to ensure that they become engrained.
From checking the avalanche forecast in the morning, transceiver checks, group communication, to how I ride lines and I would recommend you integrate them into your everyday riding so they become automatic and add your own too.
Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.

Excellent points. Liked the one with the strap/buckle checking before going out. I myself lost a buclke at the top due to a loose screw and it was a massive PITA to get my descend sorted.
We live and learn!! Thanks for the stoke. XV
Thx so much : )
Excellent! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Eric. Xv

Great advice. Maybe the banana is a bit too much as an extra food hence it will be mashed fruit in the bag 😉
Yes - dangerous game the banana! Xv
Interesting how you decide who is going to ride first and most importantly the last in your group? Cheers
Pour ceux qui ont du temps et qui veulent aller plus loin dans la réflexion sur la gestion du risque en montagne, je vous conseiĺle d'aller voir le "guide Michela" dispo sur youtube. Bonne saison à tout.e.s !
I totally agree with almost everything!
But riding full speed with an iceaxe in your hand is really dangerous.
Keep inspiring people!!! 🏂
Hey - thanks for your feedback, riding with an ice axe has saved my life, and it is something that I feel can be a very important tool in snowboarding - I go into a bit more detail in this edit: ua-cam.com/video/WluunvYlSvc/v-deo.html have a watch and see what you think. Cheers Xv
Hé Ramirou, tu t'es pas prévu une "extra beer" pour quand t'arrives en haut!!! ATTENTION !!
Ha ha - c'est vrai!!
Typo in the title
Hey, did I spot a banana?...
A mountain snowboard master told me to avoid bananas in ones backpack and instead take a salami!! 😀
Haha!! It's true it's true, my friend gave me a banana armour though so I am sorted for bananas and backpacks now... although a Salami is still the safer option, when you find that banana at the start of the next season.... mmmm !! XV
