In the HW division, whoever sets pace and lands big first, usually duppies. AJ definitely underestimated DD and abandoned basic defense to try bad him up. If he stays disciplined, he can get the belts back still.
If he fights and KO's Miller, Wilder, Fury, Zhang and Parker. He'll be back in position for a title shot. You can probably take out Miller and he's still back up there. Bakole would probably be an easy style for him to KO as well.

What I’ve learned from this fight and the Haney vs Ryan fight is to never trust the majority’s verdict for a fight and always do your own analysis before making your prediction.
My ting is why is it when aj loses it’s “yea aj is still the biggest star” , “aj has done so much in the boxing game in just 11 years” and for other fighters like Haney and dem man when they get mashed we tell it how it is, we gotta start calling a spade a spade. Aj’s left hand shouldn’t have been down and that was amateur and that’s it, bun what he’s before man 😭💀 fyi I’m not directly coming at no one I’m just stating something i observed in the boxing space.
I’m a boxing fan first and AJ fan second and the truth is AJ kept his left hand in his pocket and nearly had his jaw stolen! To anyone wondering what I’m talking about watch the fight back or watch when Leon coaches Gib, deji, JMX or JJ he told them if them hands drop your holding a bang! He got onto GIB at one point and I mean really got onto him for it! Remember boxing is a science hit and don’t get hit!
Icl Joshua vs whyte got me into boxing properly so I’m pretty new to it still but I think people are saying he should retire because of how one sided it was rather than the fact that he lost and they don’t understand it was just mistakes rather than this being his level now
I think AJ should fight Fury then retire because of the battering he took, it’s too dangerous for him to continue imo and I’m saying that as an AJ fan who wants to seem him healthy enough to enjoy his fortunes.
Ultimately AJ cant handle aggressive fighters that come in and throw 4/5 punch combinations with mean intentions. Ruiz proved it first time round. Povetkin he struggled with too he got buzzed early. And now Dubois destroying him. He can do well against the guys that come in stand up tall and throw 1s and 2s but doesnt know how to handle aggressiveness
Actually AJ’s antics were some sort of capitulation, it was like he was trying to get some kind of win over Daniel so that people would have something else to talk about in his favour! So basically AJ already lost the fight mentally before the end of the second round but was trying to use his antics to generate some alternative talking points!
Did use ever think that it could be that AJs last two fights were made to make him look good. 1 of them is a wrestler and wallin was a sparring partner for years. Daniel had 2 solid fights where he had to go in deep and it showed on Saturday
i agree he shouldn't retire, but i feel too many times over the last 5 or so years he has 'lost his head' and not stuck to the game plan. In my opinion thats built into him and will never change, so he will from now always be a contender but never a champion
i knew aj could lose this i thought he'd win but hes shown hes vulnerable before against ruiz. i feel like ajs been cherry picking easy targets his whole career and even that backfires
Brilliant performance from DD capitalised on AJ coming out it with his hands down and chin out. AJ can come back if he gets re-focused, maybe come back with a Wilder fight it’s a winnable fight that will attract a decent audience both coming off loses will be fun
Retiring is an option unfortunately because what more can he do? He reached his ceiling in terms of skills years ago. If he loses his next fight against whoever that will be, retirement is the only option..
I was the only one that predicted what was going to happen lol. Dubois is top 2 punchers AJ has faced the other being vlad. He couldn’t hack shots off of Ruiz then add on the fact that Dubois is way more aggressive and he’s better than AJ in almost everything. He’s got a better jab, he hits harder, he’s faster, has faster feet. To me it was no brainer that Dubois was going to steam roll AJ. I will say though AJ earned my respect after all those previous cowardly performances. He went out like a warrior.
As boxing coaches, kinda shocked how you couldn’t see this outcome 😂 Dubois has had some good victories against top heavyweights. AJ looking rusty against tune up fighters lol
The way AJ fought Andy Ruiz in the second fight, is how he should have approached this one.... treat DDD with FULL Respect, borderline fearful of being hit, establish range and find a way to make the jab effective...easier said than done, but fire-fighting with DDD will fail... it's just a freak circumstances that we've seen DDD against the two MOST tankish boxers in existence: Joe Joyce and Big Baby. They are unlike anybody else, and their resilience to DDD is not to be expected or replicated, at all.
AJ V Wilder, then either Parker or Zhang, then back for Dubois is a solid roadmap I think. He can still fight Fury, don't think he gets the 3rd Usyk fight tho
I feel AJ has nothing left to prove. He’s got a good head on he’s shoulders and I would rather see him leave boxing in one piece before the boxing leaves him. Hopefully we see Wilder & Fury for the legacy and I reckon we call it a day
DDD got on AJ immediately roughed him up and got him outta there. AJ shouldn’t have tried to brawl with him, you can tell he was embarrassed and wanted to prove a point he paid for it.
I think I underestimated Dubois ! AJ hasn’t been that good! But Dubois reminded me about Mike Tyson . Why aj choose to fight like it was his first fight- I don’t know

I knew Dubois could win, AJ beat Otto and Ngannou lol.. Didn't prove much really. Dubois fought better opponents in comparison. He's got a good chin an hit's real hard. I didn't think he'd fold AJ like that though.
Everyone points to the stoppage, and mentions that AJ basically had to go in for the kill at that point because he was down on the cards and taking damage. But as Leon and Viddal mentioned, AJ was fighting an impatient fight right from the start. This is the only analysis I have seen that really pointed that out. It's easy to excuse terrible technical decisions when a fighter is already hurt, but he was doing boneheaded stuff way before he got buzzed. They mentioned the hand position, but I think the key point of this fight was again, lack of patience. As Leon said, there's no way Dubois could have kept that up. AJ was supposed to drag the less experienced guy into deep waters and tire him out before going for the kill. All he had to do was avoid the early fireworks, and he couldnt manage to do that. A lot of it probably has to do with the Ngannou fight. It's probably a huge adrenaline rush to end a fight early with one thunderous clap, and since so much praise was heaped on him for doing that before, he probably wanted to repeat that. But he was against a much different animal in Dubois. At the higher levels of boxing, patience is key. You have to wait for your spot, you can't force it. Theres a reason the unified champ of this division, Usyk, NEVER throws haymakers. He remains defensively disciplined and patient and methodically wears fighters down. It seemed AJ was starting to learn these skill after the 2 Usyk fights, but then he got rewarded for being sloppy with Ngannou and that seems to have caused him to completely forget about the high level lessons he learned as Usyk put 2 clinics on him. Unfortunately the AJ we saw vs Dubois had regressed since the Usyk fights, not improved.

19:20 people who are calling AJ to retire need to understand this. For AJ to retire you need someone else with the same star power. Boxing is not like football. Even in football if the star leave a team that team lose money but football as a sport will continue to thrive because there are many stars. Boxing ain't like that. That's why stadiums are empty for undercards and full for main event because on that whole card only one or both fighters in the main event is a boxing star. If money drops in boxing bc a star has retired it becomes difficult to make fights happen bc making fights happen cost money and if the people are not buying bc they don't care abt the fighters then boxing is on life support and will eventually die unless another star is made and that takes time
In the HW division, whoever sets pace and lands big first, usually duppies. AJ definitely underestimated DD and abandoned basic defense to try bad him up. If he stays disciplined, he can get the belts back still.
