I totally agree about the networking part! There are too many applicants for companies to sift through.. not to mention the trust issue unfortunately.. I personally used to scout my employees and I myself have only gotten my previous jobs through people I had previosly met and had a nice conversation with.. Nice video btw ^^
Very informative I'm South African applying for jobs abroad but i've had no luck. Thus now I'm messaging peoples and organisations directly to stand out. Fingers crossed.
Hello Mabel! I found this video amazing really. I have been on the hunt for about 2 months now and although most of what you covered was not new to me, it was great to see it being validated by someone living there that really "made it" :)! So thanks very much and keep up the good content. One thing I'd like to ask is how to really get the networking going to improve my odds of getting an offer. I decided to book a 6 day trip (actually going there from Thursday morning until Wednesday the week after to enjoy a vacation but also get a grasp of what the city is like. Been trying to message recruiters and see if something happen but it's not easy at all....!
@@mabelgoulden872 Thanks very much! I'm really trying to do that but it's really close to the date and not easy to get a lot going. I have roughly 2 days to schedule something for the upcoming week and so far, all I have in the companies I am seeing is a few replies back on Linkedin :(. We will see what I can do, hoping for the best :)
Thanks for the great advice. I’m going back to Dubai in June to see if it’s a place I would like to relocate with my wife. Went last July and was amazed.

Thank you so much for this video. Can you please let me know if my approach is the best thing to do to land a job in the next 6 months? I've joined the Brits in Dubai facebook group, applied for over 100 jobs on Linked Inn, messaged a few recruiters and head of FC/ managers on Linked Inn to network. I'm looking for a role in financial crime as I have 6 years of experience in this field and relevant qualifications (ICA). Do you know if there is much demand for this type of role out there? Thank you!
Dear Mabel, Thank you very much for the information. I am looking for a job in Dubai as a marketing manager, and your tips are very helpful. Do you actually offer the service to support job seekers in this way? Best regards, Meli
Hi Mabel, I'm new here, How was you able to relocate from the UK to Dubai? I'm an IT professional in the UK and want to relocate outside of the UK, how would I go about doing this? Would I have to look for a company that offers a relocation package? Any help would be appreciated :)
hi Mabel, I landed here with five years of experience in tech and got a job of 22k but I feel I was doing better than this India as compared to the cost of living. After coming here, I realised I could take this up to 35k. Can you help me in getting one?
@@BlameFlames i sent my CV to 30+ businesses and never got a reply, so i changed the name and picture to a women and almost all of them replied and i even got a few phone calls, i know its just my own anecdote but its still worth keeping in mind.
I'm from pakistan, I'm currently a government officer as Statistical Investigator for 3 and half years and trying to find job in Dubai, Also I have M. Phil in Environmental economics. I also have accounting diploma I. E AFC. I have PTE score of 67. But the point is some people are not fortunate enough to have networking. Can I get a piece of advice!
Yes it’s very unfair this word is often operated around WHO you know and not what! My advise is to show up genuinely as yourself, make friends. for men, try BrotherhoodDXB, for women try Women Who Thrive :) networking groups can help!
Hey Mabel, I hope you're doing well! I reached out to you on LinkedIn, but I understand if it got lost in the shuffle. I run an App Development company in India. So basically a 13 minute video telling you that you need to know people
Yep 👍 if you have other tips then please share them here
Not only that, I suggest to watch full 13 minutes, instead of watching 13 seconds and draw a conclusion
😂
Thanks man! You saved my time.
