I think you need to mention this salary only applies to British, Americans, Europeans... other nationalities struggle to get 3k talk less of 5k

Unfortunately you're right, thank you for highlighting. As I mentioned in my business all entry level started at 10 but have seen many companies go much lower.

I’m a British citizen born and raised so would probably do OK but this is one thing I find disgusting about the Gulf states - no equality of opportunity under the law. I could never move to such a place for work. Why would I even want to.

dxb is a place for western..once your asian or belong into 3rd world countries, even you have high qualification in education or exp you still stay in low social class. take note im almost 10yrs now in a govt company and still stays in accommodation since my salary cannot afford family status,, well im planning my exit soon just to achieved my goal in purchasing basic property in my home country, imagine it took me 10yrs just for the basic needs?

Very true UAE is for westerners, if you are African or Asian, you are paid less. Most private companies pay westerners higher and Asians/africans lower in the same role. Is quite sad 🫤

I don’t know why an entry level would be offered 3260$. While Asian with 15+ years of experience with special skills, was offered 1500$ as basic ++ commissions etc. what a very fair world we live in. And now we are watching their UA-cam about how ‘easy’ it is to just follow their dreams and just move country. But that don’t happen to us.

That's BS. I am from Pakistan with 27K AED monthly salary. As a matter of fact, most westerners are already well settled in the their respective countries and they come to UAE only when offered a higher wage. So eventually the western population that you see in the UAE has higher salary than other nationalities who accept low wages.

12k as entry level hardly exists now. Currently in the UAE job market, it’s nothing like 6 years ago, salaries have gone down! Completely different to a few years ago. It’s now extremely common to be offered 10-12k for experienced roles such as PA or experienced Marketing/HR roles. The Dubai job market is oversaturated and also hardly anyone is being hired from overseas. A requirement now is you have to be on the ground in country. Finding a job in Dubai, no matter how much networking you do is purely down to luck. It’s highly likely you’ll also need to accept a lower salary of 10k, even as an experienced professional, just to be there. The only salaries you will see now in the 15k plus range, tend to be managerial roles.

That will be base for Europeans, remember they have to give you accommodation, they pay for your kids school in that kind of jobs and several other allowances as plane tickets once a year, transportation allowances. etc. I am an engineer, and the main thing is the negotiation. Oil and gas pay more, then tech companies, the then going down from there. Your nationality is a very important factor, south Asians, Indians, Pakistanis, ETC. make the least. If you are Arab or Arab speaker is the second bracket and the Europeans, Americans, Australians etc. make the most. I am Latino but hold a US citizenship.

Went on a 2 weeks holiday to Dubai and met few ppl who worked there. Asian ppl get about 2k aed per month working 28 days per month. Their “agency” takes a cut so they provide accommodation outside of Dubai where they share a room with few others. This is a common practice in uae in my experience. I might be wrong but during my holiday I met few ppl in the hotel I stayed and also in the restaurants I ate and their stories had tons of similarities.

In UAE, the sad truth is you are paid for the same role based on your passport. A white western passport will be said more than a 3rd world passport. That's is how things work there. Not based on meritocracy.
