What a great circuit! Kostas...you "tread" a very fine line between Control and Chaos managing your MX-5 on these tracks...the car is a fun little beastie! Great Video 👊
I cannot get over how cool this circuit is, and man that MR2 sure looks quick in the corners. You do seem to have on power, tho. Doesn't bode well for Serxio ;)
Castelloli is quite the track! Same goes for Robert and his MR2, that patiently showed us around. Track knowledge aside it was clearly impossible to carry the same speed that the MR2 did inside most corners and the difference in the exits was even bigger. That said power-wise the V6 clearly has the edge but all that extra torque is not of much use if you can't put it on the ground. Being super light and carrying a very subtle wheel/tire combo Serxio's MX-5 is going to attempt a low drag/high efficiency take on the Nordschleife. We wouldn't be surprised if in the end both our swapped MX-5s turn similar lap times.
@@OneLapHeroes we're all looking forward to some good OLH Miata battles! (if Kostas keeps his LFX Miata long enough for Serxio to finish his K Miata, of course lol).
HAHAHA Love your vids Costa ,what's not to Love about our MX5's lol nice set up ,love that twitch out of corners nice driving ,looks like fun , Cheers from Australia ,and yeh!! what was that green gtr thing that got in your way???
We aren't really sure. We'd guess some legend-type, bike powered kit car! In the end it was all fun and games because that was practically our first proper drive on Castelloli so it was more about learning than going fast!
Lovely footage of this 'new' circuit - lots of elevation change. The sound of the V6 engine seems so unflustered, it belies the real speed you are doing! Your car seems very twitchy in the slower corners - is this just the alignment or is it the tyres?
We want to say it was a bad set of tires. There is one more raw, full session from the next Trackday (in Portimao) with fresh tires. To our eyes there is clearly some difference but... you guys can decide for yourself!
Robert is a very good driver and his MR2 was indeed very well sorted. On the contrary the MX-5 wasn't very happy with the set of tires we had on the day. If he didn't wait -to show us the track- it would be impossible to keep up on the day...
Very cool circuit and lots of fun playing with the MR2. Thanks for the video. Have a couple questions. Is there a feature of the MR2 build anywhere? What was that green car? And are you tires getting old or did they just take awhile to come up to temperature?
The tires were indeed old, a used set that was our only option in time for the event. We regretted our choice multiple times, including when a tire exploded on track during a later session. Robert's MR2 is quite a machine and he certainly can pedal. Some info and a 'Ring lap here: infotandas.com/video-vuelta-en-nurburgring-con-el-infomovil-1-toyota-mr2-k24/
Would love to see a post-track conversation between you two. An extra few minutes at the end would be quite entertaining.
A feature on the MR2 would also be interesting! Thanks for the vid!

Quite a bit of chaos before (and after) some of these events. At least we find some balance on track... :)
What an awesome race track
Great effort Kostas and driving skills!
Nice laps!

Nice. I kept waiting for the MR2 no board footage but it never came?
Does the MR2 have a channel also or other videos?

The green car is a speed car with superbike engine
The tires were indeed old, a used set that was our only option in time for the event.

OneLapHeroes oh wow, it exploded. Hope you and the car are okay.
Thanks for the reply.
Man do you know the the mod list on the MRs? Great driving!
Are your tires getting old?? Seemed a little squirrelly in the low speed sections.
Used set of tires since we couldn't get our 'normal' tires on time for the event.
Car (and driver) clearly not happy.
@@OneLapHeroes used tires are always a gamble. I figured since it was losing grip too easily.
what kind of car was that green one?
want to know aswel
Ginetta?
A FAST GREEN GOOBER WITH NO IDEA HOW TO DRIVE LOL looked up the www on the bum just a window sponsor. say's GTR ? FAST but
Ultima GTR, a British kit car commonly equipped with a Chevy LS V8 engine.
As mentioned above the green car looked like a legend-type thing!
(Tube chassis-bike engine-generic shape fiberglass bodywork)
What V6 do you have in here? And what are you pushing?
why the guy in mr2 is not pushing on the straights? It's not that slow 100%
Is there a reason the car isn't stripped? You need to add lightness lol...
Street car? We know that for most this is a joke but Kostas did indeed drive this as a daily.
It bugs me how your gauges aren't working lmao.
