- What brilliant fun this is!! Massively underrated little cars with an excellent chassis, BROUGHT TO LIFE with the king of the four pots, Honda's K20.
Tyres fitted were Yokohama A048s, 205 front 225 rear, however they were quite old (date rather than wear) and just didn't really grip much more than the Zestinos fitted previously. As you can see, the car was seriously rear grip limited, which although very fun, wasn't as fast as the car no doubt could be!
This footage is from last year and the car has seen a bit of development since then, so we look forward to getting back out in it soon.
K20 i-vtec Honda engine
RBC inlet manifold
Bespoke exhaust manifold and exhaust
Hondata K100 ECU
234bhp at flywheel (EFI)
DC5 LSD gearbox
5.4 final drive
Meister R CRD coilovers
Whiteline anti-roll bars
Hardrace adjustable arms
Winmax W6 pads
Yokohama AO48 tyres F205 R225 (old)
JP Cages rear cage
RZR shifter mechanism
Corbeau seats
Looked a little lacking in grip 😅
Hi, Do you have any more info on the RZR shifter or does 'Dan' have a channel where he discusses it please? Thanks, Michael.
He doesn’t and has since changed to a different shifter, I thought the shift was ok, if a touch long with the RZR.
I will ask for his view and reasons for changing. 👍
Epic fun! These have quite a lot of toe out under bump on the rear, so a smidge more toe in at the rear will help if you want it to be more balanced.
Thank you Sir!! With a loose camber bolt at Cadwell it was even spicier!! 😅
On adjustable arms now instead and I’ve even bought a string kit. Lord only knows where the wheels will point whilst I’m learning how to use it!
@CIRCUITDRIVERCARS ha! Wow that must have been a right handful 😅
I am sure you will do a brilliant job with the setup, the adjustable arms are a dream. Enjoy and hopefully catch you out and about again soon 👍
Who did engine conversion?
All fun and games until it hooks a tire in the dirt. Careful boys
Looks like a wild drive 👍
Way too oversteery
What a handful! Looks like a tonne of fun.
Probably just under a tonne actually ;p
Tyres definitely holding you back for sure. Looks like you're posting about the same kind of lap time I'm getting in a standard power NC MX5, but I'm on fresh (ish) AR1's so the power to grip ratio is slightly more mad.
