This song is really meaningful for me. So many of my friends are in pain and I am too. I’m lucky that I have a significant other that I love more than anything. And who loves me just as much. I love my friends too. They mean the world to me. They’re broken.
One of them has already nearly died twice. First time, I couldn’t help. Second, I kept him awake while I called his friend to go to his house because I didn’t know his address. He’s transgender and he’s like a son to me. His best friend is a like a guardian angel.
Another one just doesn’t feel anything sometimes. She’s like a daughter to me.
My best friend is like the brother I wish I had. He’s a good guy.
My significant other makes me feel special. Makes me feel confident. I’d walk through hell and back for him and with him.
My friend who’s also my coworker in a sense. She’s hilarious, I’d beat up anyone for her.
My small group of friends. They’re crackheads, but I love them because they’re just like me.
My friend in my art class. She bugs me a lot with her “that’s what she said jokes” and weird stories, but that’s what makes her funny and unique.
My aunt/cousin. She’s funny and caring. That’s what makes her so great. She’ll be a better mother than hers ever was.
I want my friends to know they’re loved more than anything. I want them to know it’s okay to be scared. To be sad. To cry. Holding those emotions is like holding a ticking time bomb in your hands. It’ll explode and hurt you and everyone else around you. It hurts everyone else in their hearts. I’ll pick up the broken pieces of my heart and fix my friends. Because that’s how much I love them.
