It's very interesting how many people in the 50-70+ age range play this game. It's not as twitchy as CoD. And although I'm a big fan of the original WW2-themed CoD games and first two Modern Warfare games, the "Battle Royale" era has made everything twitchy and reactionary. And us older folk can't drink all those sugary caffeine performance products. We LOVE the system of tinkering builds/loadouts. We also are extremely fond of the strategic and tactical choices of cooperative gameplay. And we are big fans of the community, cooperation, and communication. So long as the franchise keeps these things in mind, it will have carved out a permanent corner in our lives. So... before TD3 comes, TD2 needs to keep things SIMPLE for us. The Shades of Red have overcomplicated things - too many icons to memorize, recognize and respond correctly to. There are too many systems (Recalibration, Optimization, Proficiency, Expertise). All these systems look like afterthoughts. Shades of Red have also wrecked a lot of favorite builds, so we now have to rethink many build approaches, often from the ground up. So for 2025, developers should give us Brooklyn. Increase variety, sure, but don't increase the learning curve. Marketers should think of Customer Life Time Value. If the game gets too complicated, those of seasoned age will find entertainment elsewhere.
They need to focus on D2. I don't think they are capable of making D3 right now. If they rush D3 it will fail. It would be much cheaper to give us new content in D2. By new content I mean DLC content. That would make them some money, which they need. It might not be the 29034809234098234 billion dollars they need to turn it around but it would be a start. Something on the level of the Warlords expansion. The problem with D2 is that we are reusing the same content it's just divided up into 20 other things that we already do on a regular. We need new missions and I.M.O. the ability to do all missions on Legendary. A world level of "Invaded" would be nice too. There's more that they can do with the current game than just wash rinse repeat.
Unfortunately, Ubisoft doesn't realize that Division players are between 25 and 55 years old and most of them have no problem spending money on cosmetics etc. In my case, after a stressful day, there's nothing better than starting a game in the Tidal Basin, two hours that are enough to feel happy for the rest of the day. Don't give up Tuxedobandido, let's think positive, I know there's a small light in this enormous darkness, Greetings.
I definitely agree with you. I can't tell you how much money I spent on the division and the division 2 and I don't even care to for real. I love the games I still play them both I just got done playing actually
As a 57 year old gamer, who started with pong in the 70's. I can confidently say . That the division franchise is a gold mine, to a company that will back it up.
@@saylothTD1 still has a decent player base for how old it is, typically minimum of 500+ per steamcharts, and lately there’s been a major uptick in population. Survival is nearly always popping never takes too long to find a game. If they found a way to bring the atmosphere of the first game and gameplay systems of the second game, update and innovate where necessary, I have high hopes for Division 3, I’m not worried about Ubisoft selling off, we have seen it happen many times in the industry. Some of the biggest games and game companies have swapped hands and it hasn’t always been a death sentence. They need to just sell off Siege, that alone could net them enough to keep lights on until they can figure out a solution. Honestly in today’s market, RESURGENCE, mobile gaming is the biggest platform for potential users. Everybody has a smartphone and not everyone especially aging gamers have time for console or pc gaming anymore. Should launch Resurgence, with micro transactions, season passes, the typical mobile monetization shtick. I know it’s not ideal for the consumer, but for Ubisoft it’s potentially millions they are letting slip away.
nobody did and I don't think it's so easy to do the level of detail in this game is insane I never have the feeling I'm seeing always the same thing like other games that are copy and paste. and the first The Division game (which is set in snowy NY at the time of Xmas and it's stunning) came out almost ten years ago and in all this time nobody did anything similar or better. I still play the first game from time to time and its setting is absolutely fascinating.
@littlemouse7066 i must agree, and if you go to these places. You be blown away from how accurate it is. My daugther lived on DC...I used to date a girl on DC. It's almost scary to play this game
is not the same type of game, but i will keep an eye on "The Forever Winter" survival/looter/shooter....is a very cool idea and game...the only trick is that the team started with a very good concept because their manly visual artists/concept artists/illustrators...but they do not have good scripters/animators and is showing. Still that game can become huge if they fix the problems and add more content with each update...and if they listen to players [that annoying water mechanic].
❤ I am a seventy three year old division gamer. I love this Game. The real rhythm and the game play as well as the maps and the story cannot be matched. We really do need a division 3, so please do not Cancel this game. Many people in our clan are over the age of fifty and that is an indication of the player base that you have.
The division is the type of live service game Sony needs in their portfolio. If Ubisoft does sale off ip Sony would be smart to scoop up the division and possibly the ghost recon ip as well.
Just got it for 10 bucks on sale. I was a day 1 enjoyer with around 30 days on ps5. Now I’m on pc trying to slowly get back into this game because i truly care for it and hope that can survive.
If you're still really new to the game or considering buying it. I say there's a ton to do and enjoy. If you've been around a while (day 1 guy here), there's a lot less to keep your attention. I still play daily, tho. I still enjoy the daily gameplay loop, im also still catching up on the active modifiers...that said, the journey for those active modifiers is a slog at the end, and I'm fairly annoyed with it. I can't wait for div3.
Bottom line is if you like the core gameplay and it's good in div2. Open world is amazing, but the content eventually gets stale if the build space and places to use your build are not expanding. They have added gear (hit and miss) and mechanics with modifiers, but we need new content to leverage it. It held my attention for over 8k hrs so I can't complain at the end of the day. It's also one of the last relatively MTX free games of the new normal. They could have milked me with DLCs every 2 years for $30 and battle passes while I was still playing and I would have been happy forever. But if the engine can't really handled that, you need a team to overhaul or eventually just move on (div3). Stuff like cross play is expected and that isn't something they can deliver in div2 with the team they have. Same deal with more critical day to day QoL like storage to hold all the new stuff they have introduced to try to placate us season to season.
Massive should follow the old Nordstrom way, under promise and over deliver on the Division 3. That way they keep the player base in the loop but manage expectations appropriately. And are able to deliver something that players will enjoy.
Even in 2025 Division 2 still looks amazing even on entry hardware compared to recent title that need very demanding hardware, next expansion could bring a lot of new people if all put together correctly.
Personally, I don't think it even survived 2024. As a day 1 enthusiast, I completely stopped playing early last year. No plans to come back, no more running the same missions....just said "Thanks for the good time" and walked away. I'm severely hopeful, but with the state of games vs the money they intend to make, the next Division is gonna drip feed content and do battle pass shenanigans, so I just elected to say goodbye. Here to hoping the Division franchise returns and remains true to it's identity
@mikerzisu9508 no. playStation. Tried PC in the beginning and the DZ cheaters caused me to exclusively stuck to consoles. It was really bad for the first couple years.
I dont want a TD 3 but another extension like warlords of New York with a new big map and new campaign and go on with my character… I dont want to start again with a low level character and lose my loots
After playing the demo for the first (and last) time, I preordered and bought Division 1. I've played about 2.5k hours in the first two years, only to hear two years later that the game would no longer be developed, and that was after "surviving 1.3" ;) . Even though I loved the Survival expansion, I switched to Escape From Tarkov overnight. Most of the Division 2 stuff passed me by, but after 5 years I finally escaped Tarkov and started the Division 2 adventure again after major changes (especially since I bought it with the expansion for about $10?). In the meantime, I changed platform from Xbox to PC, and oh my god, this game looks great! I even bought Div1 on PC to refresh my experience with the game, but... I still play with a pad ;) I love grinding in this game, and as someone mentioned earlier I am in the 25-55 (44) range and I can afford to buy cosmetics, but... there is nothing interesting, or it is very strange. I am currently playing Hell Let Loose, because I got it for free on Epic, but I will soon return to Division 2. I only have a question for the developers. Who chooses the release dates? March 8 - International Women's Day, February 14 - Valentine's Day.... C'mon! You know how much effort you have to put in to be able to play on these days! ;) In fact, the premiere of the new AC will tell us the most... Nobody is pre-ordering, everyone is waiting for reviews. If the game "finds itself" and sales skyrocket, there is still a chance for us. If not, nothing will save Ubisoft and The Division alone. Only they could make such a game and only they could/can ruin it. Sad but true.
I am really hoping they add a 5th character slot. I want to start the game over from that slot. I thoroughly enjoy the character progression and I do not want to delete one of my current characters. Character one is assault rifle and status effects, two is LMG & explosives, three is rifle & SMG, four is sniper & medic. Each one has slightly different skill builds and share parts from other characters. I thoroughly enjoy this game but I needed to walk away for a bit.
Don't worry about the minute details. Worry about the overall vision, concept and mechanics of the game they might product. That is far more important.
NOPE allot player look reviews and youtube reviews and read all ubisoft BS crap delta 3 ect ect ect. They are not stupid to buy it. and old once dont come back
Bro, its years too late to pull anything out. Most of the player base have moved onto other games. Games that receive alot more support and updates to keep the players engaged. Its been what, 5 years since Warlords Of New York. They only recently fixed the PC crashes that was prevalent since day 1. The division franchise has big potential, but only in the hands of a competent developer and publisher. Massive and Ubisoft are not it. Division 2 won't last into 2025. Ubisoft is a mess.
Ive been on board for 5 years. I really like this game. Ive spent money on seasons and cosmetics. But recently i do not use the modifiers or really like the new leveling up for the current season. I hope the dlc is legit and i will continue to hang in there.
As the next game: -Division Heartland was the hope, but it's on mobile. -XDefiant was the hope, but it's was mostly pvp without any story. -Arc Raiders was the hope but, it's PVP extraction genre change ruined it's hype. -Now it's the Brooklyn DLC if it's real is the only real hope. -Also the Mastery difficulty update for certain strongholds. Why not give liberty islands missions on Legendary as well. -Future Hopes, Destiny 3 or Division 3 or a new competitor game where PVP is not forced. So many of us want the option to do either, not both. Destiny 2 is forced PVP. Division 2 isn't forced PVP but, encouraged. What we honestly need is a 3rd competitor that competes with both Bungie and Ubisoft to wake these companies up that their dedicated players need a game in this style of play. Not an extraction. Not a PVPVE. Exception: Clan Battles. Imagine a game like Destiny or Division having clans battles. Yes, it is PVP. But, it's an option to do PVP. PVP can be turned off. That is one game both sides will play.
@@ae.dllONTT if you want the best weapons and some mods yes, they are behind trials of osiris, i stopped playing destiny when lightfall dlc garbage launched. i have 10k hours on that game lol
Answer to your thumbnail question…No Played Div since it was released and bought Div 2 and it was the only game disc I have ever thrown in the bin after buying. Was same old daily’s, monthly’s eat shoot complete repeat. Devs also screwed it up badly when they kept doing continual things patches and updates. Lastly few vloggers have been posting that Ubisoft is in big trouble with a massive drop on the share value as well as seemingly in talks to be bought out.
Love D2 but currently having so much fun with Helldivers 2. I played a few rounds of countdown in D2, but the bullet sponginess gun play is annoying. You shouldnt have to empty an entire 30/40 round mag into the targets face before it goes down.
I do hope they don't turn off the single player part of the game and LAN connection for players like myself dad and brother who play the game teamwork style.
I have thousands of hours into both games on the XBox like many folks but I recently upgraded my PC and decided to start over with D2 … and I confess I’m having a blast replaying the game and grinding to make my builds again on a character that had nothing … I guess I was missing the chase and the hunt for the perfect gear … and the challenge of doing the content with pawn shop weapons and armor … I’m trying to get powerful again in time for the DLC … so this gives me something to chase … That said, if AC Shadows fails, I’m not sure how Ubisoft survives … and if it falls then so does the future upkeep of the franchise and the chances for D3 ever being made … it’s criminal how they mismanaged their IPs but not as bad as Bungee and Microsoft did with the Destiny franchise …
This is one of the reasons I always come back to this channel. Tux doesn't sugarcoat anything. Speaks facts unlike some other Division 2 content creators. Brilliantly put video and echoes my feeling toward this franchise and publisher for the past few years. I'd like to add that I have no faith nor confidence in a Division 3 having a successful launch. Not in the slightest. It's going to go the same way as Star Wars Outlaws. The community is well aware of Massive's track record and their inability to properly support a game and the evidence for that is the handling of Division 2. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I was just thinking about this the other day.... What itch does this game scratch so well ?!?!?... then it hit me !!! Diablo 2 !!! the builds, the set gear, the different areas with different bosses... different gear setup works best on different areas. the LOOT !!!! and the new gear/exotics with new content within its seasons cycle... its got all the qualities of D2. and for those that dont know: D2 has a small, but strong & loyal community so much so, that D2R is a thing now. If you ask me, too many parallels there. Oh, and the game engine... ufff, I run everything on high/ultra..... it never hicups. like, not even once... that in itself is a sought out quality that is rarer than SOJs... (D2 reference) So, dont give up, Señor Tux... your videos are really entertaining, informative and hold value to us, agents. this game is a hidden gem.
I actually agree and really hope the DLC doesn’t bomb. They had an extra year or half a year if it comes out with big bugs or even the game just straight up breaking (coming from a guy who saw the UI bug that made the game unplayable on PS4) I really hope they don’t mess this up or push it back another year or a half considering we are at least 2 months away from the possible release of the DLC. I’m saying possible release considering the road map shows it in the middle of season 2 and season 3.
I'd get back into it if it released a new big area map dlc. Same maps burned me out. Also if they focused on this like they did with AC it probably would be bigger then it is considering it has co-op
I used to always envy Destiny 2 players for the amount of attention and content they got from Bungie compared to what we get from Ubi….but looks like Bungie too has messed up and they are losing a lot of players. What gives me hope is that we - the Division fans - are still sticking around our D2, despite years, and I literally mean years of neglect. Our expectations are low about what would make us happy - and I hope Ubi/Massive meet this low bar.
I think it’s gonna be a rough year for div if all the games that are supposed to come out actually drop games like wolverine, south of midnight, ac shadows, fable, crimson desert, borderlands 4, and of course gta6, as well as others 2025 will be rough for div 2 I fear
What makes me nervous is that we are nearly two months away from the Brooklyn DLC yet we know virtually nothing about it. I am hopeful it will be something impactful but not holding my breath. My hope is that they have an abundance of new missions of various lengths because right now all the War Lords missions are too long in my opinion for replay ability. I'll take a couple long ones but give us some short fun ones like Lincoln Memorial...
"Is the game a success right now?" Well, I quit Div 2 a few months ago after playing daily for five years, thanks to Massive's boneheaded decisions. It takes a lot to turn away a player like me. Any game that does that should be looking inward to what they're doing wrong. But they may not have time to do that before it's all over.
Appreciate the honesty T.B. I went from playing the Div 5 times a week and one day another game to playing barely few hrs of Div 2 to 5 days enjoying other games. This happened once they showed interest to new players and told us screw you the hardcore community. Am sick and tired of content creators hyping this game with build videos and theories as a hardcore Div 1 player here. They want to make the new players fine but don't act as if the devs and massive did not piss at their own community who supported them even on their lowest days. While China has the best version of the game with amazing apparel.modes and even Christmas snowy themes while we are still getting the same content.
I fired it up over the holidays for the first time in about a year. Had like 800 hours in the game. This time I made it about 2 hours before I got bored. The NY expansion was almost what we needed when it came out, but it missed the mark because it still wasn't what players wanted. We've been saying it for years...take us back to Div1 with the NY snow. Give us the old game modes we loved, not the errand boy crap we have now.
Great video ! 👍 I'm one of the players who checked out of this game a while ago ! And check out videos like yours to see if there is any change ! But there never is enough of a change to come back ! I'm playing games I missed out on while playing Division ! Cyberpunk 2077 is so good ! The Witcher 3 is so good ! Space marine 2 , Spider-Man 1, the list goes on ! And I'm enjoying switching on my ps5 again ! I'm done with the division until Division 3 is released and I'm not holding my breath ! They fucked up big time and dropped the ball with this game ! Huge potential , excellent game mechanics but it didn't get the support !!
Will it survive 2025? Yeah, I think it will, but BARELY. The bangers that are set to drop this year are crazy. The game itself is still fantastic the amount of content that people can comeback is crazy. Maybe not all vets, I'm always coming back to catch up on seasons and making new builds, but because we've been playing this game for years now there isn't much left for most of us to do. But there are always news players starting the game, and they've got So much they can do. The only things people have to pay for is the WONY expansion and the new dlc coming. Other than that, they're free to play basically everything else in the game. Not many live service games offer that. Unless Ubislop goes and dies this year. If that happens then the division ip has got to be bought by another company that can be faithful to what division has done over the years
Great analysis and perspectives. I agree fully, but am really torn about the future of the game. I am bored with the game as it is, and run through content quickly, and have been since D1 days, but the spark of excitement to play is waning. I really enjoy playing with the friends I have made in the game/clan but none of us feel that the game has rewarded our long support. 2025 and beyond will be a telling story. I just wish there was a similar style game to back up the way D2 plays.
Resurgence was only removed because of the terms and conditions on publishing apps that have been in beta and not updated for more than 6 months, they automatically removed apps that don’t fall within the category. It is still in development.
We should look into creating a portal for selecting the Ubisoft franchises we are passionate about, along with a comment section to share what we would like to see in them. This could guide them with data such as our age and our individual ability to invest in these projects. Of course, there’s much more information we could provide. Personally, I don’t see the point in creating a Star Wars-related project when there are so many games based on Tom Clancy’s series that are far more appealing to me. I’m still waiting for a new Splinter Cell or a new Ghost Recon without forgetting the long-dreamed The Division 3. I’d like them to know this and also let them know that I’m willing to financially support them as soon as these franchises have a new release.
I was super late to the game (pun intended) when it comes to the division but when they said support was supposed to end in 2020, it sure felt like it did
Great perspective and interesting analysis TUX. I think it's also important to look at the whole game development industry outside of Ubisoft alone - just look at the games in 2024 that released (and were rushed out) running on Unreal Engine 5 which butchered framerates and questionable graphical quality. It seems developer studios are moving away from in house game engines and opting for mainstream and well supported game engines - CDPR is instead using UE5 for the Witcher 4; Metal Gear Solid 3 snake eater is using UE5 instead of it's original Fox Engine. As the veterans of these in-house game engines are no longer around, the choice comes down to who do they employ to keep the ball rolling. It costs both time and money to train up new employees in the in-house engine whilst it's comparably easier to employ someone like a student fresh out of college/university who's learnt UE5 as a hobby to get them onboard a new game that's using UE5. Division 2 lost it's lead programmers to other projects so who was left to teach the new developers the Snowdrop engine. Yannick even went on stream (that one time we got the first season update in a very long time after radio silence) to say that it's a new team that is still learning the Snowdrop engine. The director for the new AC Shadows was quoted for saying that for many on this team working on this AC game it would be a first for them, having no formal background or experience in the Anvil engine. I'm grateful that Ubisoft/Massive are still willing to train up new developers in the Snowdrop engine but that comes at a price too - it takes time to build upon and release quality updates.
Honestly? I hope it's a good year for division two. The game has got so much potential and its my favourite game to play atm and I love the story of it is well. I'll keep playing this game for as long as it's still going. But even saying that I feel like the brooklyn dlc will be the make or break for div 2 tho. I'm hoping for a trailer or a release date soon 🙏
It's less about whether Julian is good or not and more about will the budget and timeline be conducive for a great game, or if it's gonna be like many Sony and Bungie and Ubisoft games: rushed, received poorly, dead.
An interesting poll to be had would be one that survey’s (samples) the Division 2 community with the following question: In 2024, how much currency did you as a devoted player of the Division 2 spend on the game? My guess is that number isn’t too large per player. Another interesting stat would be how many active players were there in 2024? Also, how many new players stayed with the game longer than 4 months. I view the game as entertainment and I certainly got my money’s worth from playing it. The upcoming DLC will be fresh and inject a bit of life into the aging game but doubtful it revives the player base to a large degree. Players move on to other games…it is the way of things.
@@beelz3buggg Companies with major financial difficulties are hesitant to shut down any revenue source, no matter how small. Most likely, Div1 will be shut down this year as we will see some type of restructuring or buyout of Ubisoft. Depending on how much money Div2 is able to generate, we might see the same for it.
I had 260 hours last year and doubt I will hit that mark this year unless Brooklyn comes out (big if) and it's super cool (another big if). I quit during Y6S1 and rejoined on a whim. I've been very bored this season and the season grind is definitely feeling like a grind. I'm not afraid to quit again, even with unused credits in my account. I really don't want to since I have good friends that play this game and have great memories playing it, but I'm not going to waste my time on something that the publisher has given up on. I also want to make clear that I have a lot of sympathy for Massive and the devs at their studio, and I can't imagine Ubi has made their lives easy.
The fact that you're talking about this dead game is awesome. Gj Tux. I can't in my right mind continue to grind this game that gives me nothing but new gear, weapons neither mm matter. I can run everything minus legendary with 1 build. Pvp sucks with all the cheaters. Love this game but too many other fun games to play and grind. D2 is a endless useless grind that's dead. Thanks Tux alteast you're not pulling a KVD and drinking the kool-aid 24/7. It's done.
Things that a Div3 dev studio (not necessarily Ubisoft) should NOT be doing as they work on Div 3. 1. Go into hibernation while they establish a vision, design, and code a new game. This has become the standard for AAA gaming where they basically do all the initial work in secret and only show the game to the players through cinematic trailers that have nothing to do with the actual game. Then they show some actual game play just in time for a very short and not very useful beta. Instead, they must do much of the work in public. Other game companies will watch, but they are all in the midst of their own 5-10 year dev cycles and even if they copied what they saw, should be unable to come to market with their copy before Div3 is released. 2. Continue with their CMM Level 1 practices that lead to a 5+ year dev cycle. If gaming studios would actually implement some of the well understood dev practices that the rest of the software industry understands, they would find that..."magically" they could greatly reduce their go-to-market time and product a better, more reliable product. 3. Wait until nearly 100% of the game content is complete. Instead, they need to do iterative releases where the basic game and a some of the game world is done. This means release a mostly full-featured game, but with less than full content. Then, release content updates (e.g. map expansions) on a regular basis. This allows a for the foundation of the game to be solid before release so that the game they sell is ready from the start to be played rather saying it is ready, but it is really just a fancy beta test for us to endure. Things that a Div3 studio SHOULD be doing as they work on Dev 3. 1. Commit to 60-40 development. That means 60% of the time is spent on vision, design, and requirements gathering and only 40% is for actual coding and test. That does not mean you cut back on dev and test. That means you expand the amount of time you spend planning and thinking through the fundamentals of the game before you try to start coding. The result is a shorter time to release. 2. Commit to using the same game engine for the entire development period of the game. No changing mid-stream. 3. Actively solicit feedback from the current playerbase throughout the design and development period. And I don't mean just feedback from UA-camrs under an NDA. As I said above, if you are moving forward with best practices, other gaming companies who see what they are doing and attempt to copy it should be years behind you. That is the beauty of iterative development. You are always one step ahead of your competitors even if they try to copy you. 4. Always keep the core concept of the game in mind when designing future changes, updates, and new franchise games. At its core, Div3 should be a co-op, looter shooter, set in current or near future times, but with what I would call light sci-fi gear and mechanics. Essential to the design is that players are challenged to overcome progressively more difficult situations by developing their own play style, improving their skills and techniques, acquiring better gear, gaining a better understanding of the game mechanics, and through cooperative group play. Any mechanic of the game that run contrary to this detracts from the game. An example where this has become a problem is with the implementation of the Modifier system in Div2. The Modifiers in Div2, combined with the Journeys, dictate a play style rather than supporting the different game styles of the players. Requiring kills at a certain distance has players forward and backward, not to gain an advantage over the opposition, but merely to meet an arbitrary distance requirement mandated by the game. The modifiers themselves are fine and they support a variety of play styles. However, creating challenges for specific modifiers and distances is mandating play styles, not supporting them.
I’ve been in the game for three years, not six plus like a lot of others and I’m tired of the same rinse and repeat. Even though I play almost everyday, I believe the game needs some sort of resolution to the old missions. The current Manhunt has been very lackluster at best……and it’s on and on for a total of 16 weeks. New map or new missions…or both! It’s a very good game. It just needs to move forward.
I still don't understand why they were focusing so much on xdefiant? Like i get that the game gave you the classic COD feeling with great and responsive devs, the game simply had no identity. Despite other Ubisoft games having problems, they have their own identity. Every single one of them whether its AC, Division, far cry or R6. Xdefiant just felt like something you would play when you got tired of COD or something. I used to play the classic CODs a lot and i loved xdefiant initially. But after a few weeks, any rational player will start feeling bored with it. Maybe they saw something but I never understood why they would abandon division heartland for this. Crazy.
I have met people in there 70’s on division 2. I met a lot of great guys and gals on this game. I feel like Ubisoft dropped the ball on this fan base for other projects. So sad.
everytime the division launches a new game, its not finished. Division 1 took how many updates before it was a good game and the Division 2 same thing. They just need to get their heads out their butts and listen to their community, who buy the game. Still love these 2 games though (after the updates :D)
I have met people in there 70’s on division 2. I met a lot of great guys and gals on this game. I feel like Ubisoft dropped the ball on this fan base for other projects. So sad, I mean how many dam Assassins Creeds do we need?!
@vankal2127 you're right. It comes down to whether or not you enjoy the game loop. The crap gear and endless bugs certainly detract from the experience.
The problem with the billion dollars that Div2 had produced...revenue during the first 3 years was great, but revenue has dropped dramatically over the past 2 years.
Should you play in the 2025? Yes, as long you already have this game a long time ago... But if you just gonna get it NOW, hmm, I guess you need to wait for it to be on sale (at least IMO). TD2 is very nice game. I bought it like un 2022, tried it and it's okay but real life duties made me drop playing it. I just recently started playing it again when I heard last December (I think), when it's on sale. So I revisited and got hooked. It's fun. If you have this game way before 2024 or 2025, then it's a nice game to play today. Try it...
The Division is now one of the most complex games on the market. The game's complexity leads to obvious difficulties in support and expansion. Those difficulties make the support more expensive. Expensive support requires a significant income from the community. If income is not enough, they need to change something. I cannot imagine any significant changes in Division 2. It's a dead end. But they could theoretically make some updates to the Snowdrop engine to make the further support cheaper. So, they need to build the whole new game on the updated engine and rethink the game design to make it less complex, more straightforward and more attractive to new gamers.
They need to STOP making us do STUPID missions. Timed missions are ridiculous and the micro transactions are getting a bit much. Enemies STILL blind fire with the accuracy of a sharp shooter and walk through hails of bullets just to be able to STILL hit you while they take minimal damage and they hit you like a Mac truck. I’ve raged quite and deleted this game at least 5 times. Idk if it will survive 2025. Hope so because I’ve played this franchise since DIV-1 and it’s still one of my go to games. I hope they find a way to pull their hands out their asses and get it together.
The game can make a comeback . About 80% of the player base haven’t gotten certain guns . Ourob, eagle b ,ravenous nemesis and regulus, drop them in open world . I guarantee people come back . End the time gated mission pitch . The dev are just hard headed . I see so many comments asking for this .
this game is Diablo with guns, some items are rare and uniq, if you drop them everywhere how you reward hard-core players vs the casuls that are not putting time and effort to get them ?!
This is the most dogsh!t take I have ever read. This game already holds players hands and hands high end gear to players who put in minimal effort. A total noob can put together a decent build within a couple hours. This game is being slammed into the ground from being dumbed down so much and It is wild how much this game has been dumb down yet some of you want to dumb it down even more. The less they dumb it down and actually start making the game challenging again, the better. The majority of players just about have every weapon in the game at this point, so IDK what the f%ck you're even coming up with that number. Exotics are not supposed to be easy to obtain, yet they have very little value because so many players have so many of them. DZs should've never been nerfed from Heroic to Challenging. High end loot drops should've been allocated into DZs and been rare to see in the open world. Target loot should've never made it into the game. All exotic drops need to stay in DZs. TD2 has become the easiest game to play and yet yall still want it dumbed down. ffs.
@@graphosencrenoir4006 I agree with you if you're talking about Raids' weapons rewarding really hard game mode and careful studying and solid planning and team work, but if you're talking about DZ exclusives, then I think that you're wrong and here's why: 1) There are cheaters in DZ, we know that...People using the Cronus Zen aim bot & or other cheating devices. 2) Some clans specialize in DZ teams and they attack solo players and then brag about it..Ok, but 4 people against 1 is an idiotic thing to brag about. Toxic, juvenile and dumb as a sack of rocks is what that behavior is & that's why most players won't even go to DZ once they've experienced these things.
I had 1500 hours in the game... shd level 3500.. put up with COUNTLESS Deltas.... but loved the game.... put lots of time in upgrading and acquiring gear.. When they said they were going to do seasonals I quit.. they backed off on it but with the experience I had in the game with them constantly breaking it with their updates and "fixes" I decided I was done.. Not to mention the DEI crap woven in.. TOTALLY SICK of this stuff... So I deleted it.. all my UBISOFT games are gone, If this is what they are selling, Im not buying... If this is what you like?? go for it.. Im glad I can pick and choose where I spend my time and this company got more than enough of my money and wont get another DIME from me.
The only reason I still play is because of friends but as they slowly leave and we're forced to play the same old content well let's say I decided to go fishing tonight instead of playing division!
I enjoy playing it because I can use an m16 rifle and an m60. And while I can't show it in game my character to save America from those who want to destroy it.
They’ve catered to PVE community since Div 1 and that’s been there downfall. Without PVP players the games dead, PVP is what helped this game the most. I don’t hop on a game to shoot NPCs 4-6 hours a day I wanna fight actual players
Thats why from day 1 i been saying pve and pvp should be seperated now look at the state of the game And early on people was saying we wanted stuff handed to us(pve players) Buffs and nerfs And reworks on weapons gear skills should have been always divided
what needs to happen to make 2025 strong for Td2?
release td3 :)
Bro listen...D3 is no guarantee...
Really listening to the community especially the content creators. They have the direct ear of the community.
You’re right, and that’s what keeps me going. 🙏🏽
We go till there is no more.
I definitely agree with you. I can't tell you how much money I spent on the division and the division 2 and I don't even care to for real. I love the games I still play them both I just got done playing actually
I left but Im watching. If modifiers are rolled back, I will come back
I playing a bit everyday its very good gamę for me
As a 57 year old gamer, who started with pong in the 70's. I can confidently say . That the division franchise is a gold mine, to a company that will back it up.
They will not back up this game. It's over really
Every update they break the game
ü50 here aswell 🤘🏻☠️🤘🏻
Don't listen to any of these fools. The division has a big fan base. We all just miss TD1 gameplay.
Look if someone drops a 3rd person looter shooter that can give the same feel. Its over..
nobody did and I don't think it's so easy to do the level of detail in this game is insane I never have the feeling I'm seeing always the same thing like other games that are copy and paste. and the first The Division game (which is set in snowy NY at the time of Xmas and it's stunning) came out almost ten years ago and in all this time nobody did anything similar or better.
@@littlemouse7066 im about to look it up.
@@leftlanehiphop6259it is a great depiction of DC as I was playing my wife was able to point out the building she worked in
❤ I am a seventy three year old division gamer.
@grumpyoldman6503
Yep.
I've been entertained and continue to be.
11k hrs played on my main account, I have 3 accounts.
That's a lie
@@everybodysfavoritenobody
What's a lie?
Massive should follow the old Nordstrom way, under promise and over deliver on the Division 3. That way they keep the player base in the loop but manage expectations appropriately. And are able to deliver something that players will enjoy.
As a day one player of both D1 and D2 I say to hell with this game... Ubisoft has done everything to turn a lot of us off...
Didn't have these issues when Redstorm was a part of the team. They were smart pulling out. I miss Terry and his big cup lol
Even in 2025 Division 2 still looks amazing even on entry hardware compared to recent title that need very demanding hardware, next expansion could bring a lot of new people if all put together correctly.
I still play daily on PC and PS5 Pro.
Did you play on pc?
@mikerzisu9508 no. playStation. Tried PC in the beginning and the DZ cheaters caused me to exclusively stuck to consoles. It was really bad for the first couple years.
I dont want a TD 3 but another extension like warlords of New York with a new big map and new campaign and go on with my character… I dont want to start again with a low level character and lose my loots
As a day one agent from D1 + 2 when GTA 6 drops I'm gone and never looking back
We have more chance of Div 3 at this point in time than GTA6 to be honest.
There's so many bangers coming in 2025 that i doubt it. Let's hope they finally pull that finger out!!!
Not entirely sure Ubisoft will survive 2025 never mind the Division....
Ive been on board for 5 years. I really like this game. Ive spent money on seasons and cosmetics.
But recently i do not use the modifiers or really like the new leveling up for the current season.
I hope the dlc is legit and i will continue to hang in there.
I left the second game 5 years ago and returns into the first game. But we'll see what the upcoming DLC bring us.
As the next game:
-Division Heartland was the hope, but it's on mobile.
That is one game both sides will play.
destiny 2 isn't forced pvp
@@ae.dllONTT if you want the best weapons and some mods yes, they are behind trials of osiris, i stopped playing destiny when lightfall dlc garbage launched. i have 10k hours on that game lol

Answer to your thumbnail question…No
Played Div since it was released and bought Div 2 and it was the only game disc I have ever thrown in the bin after buying.
You shouldnt have to empty an entire 30/40 round mag into the targets face before it goes down.
there is certain build for countdown, use 4 striker and chameleon, can melt 1 elite with 1 mag
Maybe?? I thought TD2 was dead like 3 years ago but it keeps on keeping on
Modifiers was the final nail in the coffin for me. 6k SHD only to be forced to relearn the same game. No thanks. Loving single player games atm.
Blame the community. Modifiers are the alternative to seasonal characters. This community literally whines and complains about everything.
Hey Tux, great video.... I just hope and pray that things will improve...
Me too.
I do hope they don't turn off the single player part of the game and LAN connection for players like myself dad and brother who play the game teamwork style.
I have thousands of hours into both games on the XBox like many folks but I recently upgraded my PC and decided to start over with D2 … and I confess I’m having a blast replaying the game and grinding to make my builds again on a character that had nothing … I guess I was missing the chase and the hunt for the perfect gear … and the challenge of doing the content with pawn shop weapons and armor … I’m trying to get powerful again in time for the DLC … so this gives me something to chase …
That said, if AC Shadows fails, I’m not sure how Ubisoft survives … and if it falls then so does the future upkeep of the franchise and the chances for D3 ever being made … it’s criminal how they mismanaged their IPs but not as bad as Bungee and Microsoft did with the Destiny franchise …
(D2 reference)
So, dont give up, Señor Tux... your videos are really entertaining, informative and hold value to us, agents.
this game is a hidden gem.
What build is that at 1:40 can you make a build video of that please?
All I want is to keep theis series alive.
Where do I download the build
blueprints? Thanks! And here is to hoping that Division 2 is given plenty of support until Division 3 arrives.
Scarier is that this season ends in 5 weeks.
I know the guys of " MASSIVE ", they are assholes.
Very well put. Great topic. I don't think the DLC will be released.
Oh wow, if they pull back the promised DLC you can kiss Division 2 goodbye. So many of the current players would just rage quite the game.
This is an awesome game that you can get back to every now and then inbetween other games
i played it about a week ago getting to 3300 shd level before quitting and now im playing space marine 2 and i already miss the pestilence lmg
Tell you what exactly they need to do.. Release a film/tv series on the division 1 drop, not gonna lie it would be a good watch
Heartland died, Resurgance got removed from the app store, things are not looking good...
Both of them were garbage and a waste of time and resources to begin with.
Resurgence was only removed because of the terms and conditions on publishing apps that have been in beta and not updated for more than 6 months, they automatically removed apps that don’t fall within the category. It is still in development.
The only thing they have worried about for yrs is selling apparel
FACTS!!!! and this is irritating as Hell when they could give this apparel for free!
This pretty much sums up the whole ordeal with Destiny 2 and Bungie as well
It's less about whether Julian is good or not and more about will the budget and timeline be conducive for a great game, or if it's gonna be like many Sony and Bungie and Ubisoft games: rushed, received poorly, dead.
Division 1 will go first. So at least we should have a warning.
Players move on to other games…it is the way of things.
ill never stop playing the division2
When they shut it down you will.
@TheBigBlueMarble until then im still playing and they haven't shut down div1 yet sooo yeah
Many questions, few answers grasshopper.
On PC/Steam I still can't play more than 30 min without a crash. Sometimes it crashes on the first weapon swap...
I'm starting late with Division 2 so I'm enjoying it... For sure going be playing in 25 lol
Really hope The Division 3 is good. Still playing TD2.
Ubisoft should focus solely on Division, Ghost Recon, and Assassin's Creed. MAYBE a Splinter Cell here and there..
Crazy.
I agree. DLC has to be a rock star to not only save this game, but to get people to buy Div 3.
Its time Yanick
Relese the underground :D
Underground wouldn't save it lol
I have met people in there 70’s on division 2. I met a lot of great guys and gals on this game. I feel like Ubisoft dropped the ball on this fan base for other projects. So sad.
what gun is that in the vid?
everytime the division launches a new game, its not finished. Division 1 took how many updates before it was a good game and the Division 2 same thing. They just need to get their heads out their butts and listen to their community, who buy the game. Still love these 2 games though (after the updates :D)
Oh yeah, 2025 is the year of division
😂
And then you woke up and realized that statement is not true lol
@kingsmurf8131 Nah, The Division is making a come back. Just wait. If I'm wrong, then I'll buy you a video by next Christmas
I have met people in there 70’s on division 2. I met a lot of great guys and gals on this game. I feel like Ubisoft dropped the ball on this fan base for other projects. So sad, I mean how many dam Assassins Creeds do we need?!
I have hard time to even finish the season track... I'm done.
Don't give up. The journey isn't difficult, it's just grindy. There's videos that can help - what I did.
@@magicworkshop the problem is that you grind the same content for many years
@vankal2127 you're right. It comes down to whether or not you enjoy the game loop. The crap gear and endless bugs certainly detract from the experience.
Don't tell Rogue Gold, he'll start crying
Im trying to play now on Xbox and the fkng x button works when it wants to, wtf!
Why not, by the way i still roll Div 1. I am still not tired of this game, i have different motivations why i am still in this game.
The problem with the billion dollars that Div2 had produced...revenue during the first 3 years was great, but revenue has dropped dramatically over the past 2 years.
We need downloadable , free, Tito wallpapers!
Try it...
Division 2 has no analogues. she is unique. This game has amazing graphics; amazing character feel; non-boring looter shooter gameplay
Once Ubisoft goes bankrupt this year, we will have to see what survives
Whats the link to tuxs Discord?
The Division is now one of the most complex games on the market. The game's complexity leads to obvious difficulties in support and expansion. Those difficulties make the support more expensive. Expensive support requires a significant income from the community. If income is not enough, they need to change something. I cannot imagine any significant changes in Division 2. It's a dead end. But they could theoretically make some updates to the Snowdrop engine to make the further support cheaper. So, they need to build the whole new game on the updated engine and rethink the game design to make it less complex, more straightforward and more attractive to new gamers.
What about brooklyn dlc thats coming out for division 2 huh?
This is the best comment here, facts. Drop those guns open world pve stop hiding them
@@kingsmurf8131 just no...
this game is Diablo with guns, some items are rare and uniq, if you drop them everywhere how you reward hard-core players vs the casuls that are not putting time and effort to get them ?!
Is this game still fun ? Haven’t played in a while
What weapons in Division 2 is he using in this video?
Mostly gR9 LmG with strained talent. Short range mods and striker. Super fun.
I enjoy playing it because I can use an m16 rifle and an m60. And while I can't show it in game my character to save America from those who want to destroy it.
“Dont change on anything that is not broken” ubisoft are too busy making changes and it fucks up most of their popular series
Give it to a company that cares enough to improve their games and not drop the on every update
They’ve catered to PVE community since Div 1 and that’s been there downfall. Without PVP players the games dead, PVP is what helped this game the most. I don’t hop on a game to shoot NPCs 4-6 hours a day I wanna fight actual players
Thats why from day 1 i been saying pve and pvp should be seperated now look at the state of the game
And early on people was saying we wanted stuff handed to us(pve players)
Buffs and nerfs
And reworks on weapons gear skills should have been always divided
