Good video and very informative. Thank you for that. I will be watching this again while at my truck going step by step. I just picked up a 2005 9900ix with a Cummins.
I own a 9900 myself just wanted to say nice truck. Also the hood is cut for the air cleaner also the stack hides in front of where the sleeper gets wider so you might as well leave them on. You won't get the cost of retrofitting back from fuel savings. Unfortunately the cummins will get you 5 to maybe 6mpg on a good day no matter what you do

@@JPTV3000 I think most heavy spec trucks are like that, im working with a 2020 t800 tri axle and it beats you up no matter what, same with the newer W900's . The 08 peterbuilts I found rode pretty good but didn't perform well off highway.
Most of the work I do is in the bush with logging atm, but im trying to strike out on my own for an oil haul nearby

U move the stacks u will cause more resistance because the stacks are curved and the sleeper is flat

I got a 07 9400i right now its a good truck but i like the look of the 9900 how reliable has it been?
I haven't had any problems out of it so far..
Just basic maintenance start replacing the clutch stuff like that

Bro it's designed to have those air cleaners on there...... and the exhaust. If you that worried about fuel burn get a Volvo or Aerocab Kenworth. Lol
