Hi Kale all is well, how are you? What amplifier are you using and what are your overall settings on the guitar also? How do you compare the GB 10 to the GB 10 SE.. as I noticed a great difference in sound quality..? Thanks
These are nice sounding guitars. I am a bit bothered by Ibanez"s lack of full disclosure on what the body material is. The top is laminated Spruce, the back and sides are laminated maple. there is nothing wrong with laminated wood for the most part, the Gibson ES guitars are laminated as well. But with Ibanez not making this fact clear, it does two things. The first is, one one of the big box stores (GC) lists the body material as being solid wood. I guess my interpretation of solid wood is different than theirs. The second one is, it makes Ibanez look like they are hiding this as it is not disclosed on their site either. All the other respectful guitar manufactures (including the imports) list which models are solid, solid tops, and which ones are laminated. They are not trying to hide anything. Why is Ibanez. The only reason I found this information out was, I was in the process of ordering the made in Japan model from GC.(at around $3600) I contacted Ibanez and asked them very specific questions about the differences. While I am sure the made in Japan model is most likely better. I am not sure the price difference warrants that (my opinion only). I did find that both models are not made out of solid wood bodies. They are both laminated.
I saw this last week. Was wondering what it was. Ill check ot out next time

Such an awesome guitar - I already have 13 in my stable, so how do I justify this beauty?
Well, you could give some of the others to deserving players who couldn't afford them...? 😊

Do the 1978/9 sound different? Deciding between a new or vintage.
I think new models have hotter pickups. Did you purchase any guitars in the end?
