  • Sorry for the lesser quality footage. Used my secondary computer to mod the game so I didn't mess with all my current mods. Just a nice guide to modding the Steam version of the game with mods not on Steam. I show off the mods more towards the end of the video if that is all you want to see. Timestamps provided as always. I also troubleshoot having a mod that makes the game crash. Hope it helps some of you out! Thanks for checking out the video my friends!

      I really want to but I need to play through the game a time or 2 on both lightside and darkside. I have only played through the game once but not fully. Kotor 2 on the other hand I have beat well over 30 times, and started new characters many more. That's why I feel super comfortable saying I know where every location for something is, cuz I actually do know lol with Kotor 1 I would be far less confident having not explored every nook and cranny. I do intend to make some vids for that one but I need to make some playthroughs in it first. So hopefully I will make some time to do that soon!

    Hey bro wassup hope you're doing fine. I wanna install the mod to make bao dur look like maul but I'm not sure which one Is the one. I downloaded the pack from deadlystream but It doesn't say which one Is the one I'm looking for. One Is maul, one Is savage AND the other one looks dull. Also I downloaded the restored content mod but I'm not sure how to install It. The manual says to uninstall the game and owerwrite all the folders but on another manual says to just drop the files to override and modules. I know you might be busy but I'd be awesome if you could help me.

    • @CatDaddyGaming
      @CatDaddyGaming  3 роки тому

      Hey thank you very much, hope you are doing well too! So unfortunately the only place I was able to find the Bao-Dur Darth Maul Skin was from the Steam Workshop. A modder named Effixian is the creator and I am not sure if he uploaded it to any other websites. There might be a few more floating around out there but the one I used was from the Steam Workshop. As for installing the restored content, it is very easy. I believe I show installing it in the video. Simply download the file and unzip it. Then run the application and it will self install all files and folders. After running the installer you should be all good to go. You shouldn't have to do anything other than run the install and wait. :)

You won't be able to play your old files from when you didn't have the restored content. Happy to help if I can. Installation is surprisingly super easy. A lot of people mention its good to install restored content first and then install all your other mods after so maybe have to reinstall your other mods after restored content but that is pretty easily done.

      My friend, I will gladly help you! No cash app or payment required, just happy to help. At 3:30 in the video, I show exactly how to install RCM to your Steam version. The .exe will auto install everything for you, you just need to point the installer to the Steam folder holding the game. Feel free to comment back if you are stuck and I will do my best to help you through it. The Steam Workshop version is also super easy to install. Only time I would install non-Steam version of RCM is if you want to use other mods that aren't on the Workshop. A lot of mods don't play nice with Steam Workshop mods.

    What are your thoughts on the Steam patch?

    • @CatDaddyGaming
      @CatDaddyGaming  4 роки тому +1

      I haven't played the non-Steam patch in quite some time. As far as I can tell I am pretty happy with it. I have minimal issues with the game or bugs happening. I usually play the restored content on so all the smoothness of the game could be attributed to that lol I just recently found out the Steam patch had fixed all the XP glitches so one hand I was bummed about that but I guess it is a good trade off for game stability!

    • @stellarexile8803
      @stellarexile8803 3 роки тому

      @@CatDaddyGaming I think the patch introduces more problems than it solves, most notably missing lightsaber textures. It does come with native widescreen and controller support, but I think it's better just not to use it as widescreen can be patched in using UniWS. But I just wanted your thoughts on it :)
      I think TSLRCM is definitely the one and only mod considered mandatory by all players. I consider the Community Patches mandatory, but that's just me. Believe it or not, TSLRCM actually removes the most notable XP glitch (Hssiss) but there is a mod to restore it xD.
      Edit: Ahhh, I see you found it :)
      I'd say I'm even more curious to ask, what are your favorite mod(s)?

    • @CatDaddyGaming
      @CatDaddyGaming  3 роки тому +2

      @@stellarexile8803 I haven't noticed the lightsaber textures being weird in mine but I also run it with TSLRCM so don't know if that affects it. Maybe I will try a lightsaber updated texture mod and see if it is better. I played the Steam patch with no TSLRCM a few weeks ago to try the glitches to find out they had been fixed. Other than that have always played with TSLRCM when on PC. Couldn't agree more with you that TSLRCM is required for best experience. Even though M478 is super boring I still recommend it to people as well. I like the missing story.
      So my favorite mods would have to be retextures. I love exploring the map and looking around at the designs. Character and planet reskins just make it feel so much fresher. I retexture everything I find a mod for lol other than that I really enjoy the fun little mods, like the darkside choker or the kill the Ithorian mod. Those fun things fans wanted to do and modders made happen are very impressive to me. The canonical character skin is another one that just makes you feel like you are playing the full story how it was meant to be told. I am blown away so many people are still creating mods for the game in 2020. I love it!

    • @CatDaddyGaming
      @CatDaddyGaming  3 роки тому

      @@Fazeninjastriker Ah I see. Were you able to run the game no problems before you installed the mods? I know this has happened to many others but there are some things we could try if your up for it. Make backups of the old saves you have if you wanna keep them. You will have to start a brand new game if you added restored content but still save those if you want them. Are those the only 2 mods you are wanting? If so, I recommend doing a fresh install of the game, (be sure to delete the Kotor 2 folder from steamapps after uniunstalling so it generates fresh new files). Then grab those mods off the Steam Workshop instead. There is one that contains both of those in the same mod. I don't normally recommend Steam Workshop mods over the actual files from a trusted modding website, but we can use this as a test to collect some data. If the games works right away, then the problem was with the downloaded files or installation process. But if it is still crashing, then the game could not be working well with one of your components. For example, Kotor 2 does not like laptops very much and anything over 60hz can cause weird issues. Sorry for lengthy reply but happy to help out if you don't mind doing the troubleshooting.
