Little correction for ya Joe, the pricing has been released, and the Trail Boss is actually the 2nd lowest trim level -- the interior is actually based on the WT hence all the hard black plastic, single climate control, lack of heated seats, etc. The Trail Boss is however the 2nd from the top in terms of off road capability.

@@Tiovergudo Ford has optional electronic locking rear locker even on the lowest XL trim ($420) of rangers and if you want front locker you will have the ranger raptor as an option. The other trim levels of chevy only have the automatic locker which in my opinion is not as good as user activated electronic locker. In snow the auto locker tends to lock up and swing the rear end out on you. Fine if you are prepared for it but if wifey is driving it can be a problem. With the ford you only lock the rear when you need it. Ford also will have the 2.7 v6 which also has a pretty good reputation and sounds better. However ford dropped the ball with no rear seat ac/heat vents. Also with how things have been going there may be big delays on actually getting new rangers and chevy may scoop up more customers who not willing to wait.
I don't understand why they are not stretching the cab by a few inches, 2" or 3" to make that back seat a bit more comfortable or spacious. Every truck in this class the back seats are too tight, the worst one being Tacoma, when you sit in the back seat your knees are in your chest. A few inches will not make it that big that they might be worried it will steal sales from Silverado.
Big Zonks on lighting. This is just my opinion, but LED technology has become cheap enough, small enough and so efficient that no modern vehicle should be using incandescent lighting, or at the very least, that style of older lighting should only be on Base or WT level trims. Anything above bottom trim should be all LED. Headlights, DRL, Turn Signals, Brake Lights and Reverse Lights should be LED. The fact that car makers can get away with charging what they do on new vehicles and still use old technology is wack. We appreciate the videos Joe, thanks!
Some people prefer halogen over LED. The light isn't as hard on the eyes. I have LED in my Sierra and I honestly wish they were halogen. Halogen also heats up so ice/snow melts off. LED is not as great as you think.
I totally agree with you. I would gladly give away that big screens for LED headlights. I'm a firm believer that being able to see thr road you could avoid lots of accidents. Also, headlights is one of the few things I rather go OEM than aftermarket since I always had issues with aftermarket.

I love the looks of this truck but that little turbo engine is going to really have to be impressive for me to pull the trigger on what I know is going to be an expensive truck!
Well considering the Ranger only comes with the 2.3t and the Tacoma is expected to be coming with the 2.4t. This 2.7t is going to be the largest turbo 4 in the segment. The Frontier still comes with a V6 and is probably going to be the only one.
So is it better than a Ranger Tremor , I reckon only time will tell unless someone out there has driven and compared them both. I lean towards the Ranger Tremor because it has already proven it's reliability and hard to beat that smooth ride over a washboard dirt road. You do get a nice 11.3 in. display with the Trail Boss and the wider stance and factory lift are also big pluses. Will be interested to hear other opinions on the comparison as I will be getting one or the other within the next 6-9 months. As usual that was a nice short review Raiti .
I totally get the headlight argument but there’s something about the non LED lights that make it look more rugged. The LEDs on the higher trim are too thin looking.
Like the Camaro-like grill and agree on the plastic fake lower corner bumper intakes. Lots of grey/black plastic parts in and out to fade in the near future especially if you really use it as a truck.

Seems like a good deal considering it's a decent off road 4wd for a little under$40k. That's assuming they aren't marked up. Am I right in thinking this is the one midsize truck that would work for tall people. 6'6"? The lack of heated seats and having hard plastic in the interior isn't an issue for me. Being big enough and how it performs are what matter to me.

@Sterling not is not. Not on the trail boss. It's an upgrade on the LT. But you can still swap it out for LED aftermarket for the trail boss. Just not an upgrade.

Was checking out the Colorado , but Chevy makes you pay a bunch extra for simple items that should be standard. A Silverado 1500 will give you a much better bang for your buck. Midsize trucks just cost to much now !
Yeah, don't want a bigger truck. And don't want to pay 10-15k for stuff i don't need. My trail boss I built is 39.8k. You can keep that bang of the 1500.
The air dam on the front bumper being a fake isn't always them cheaping out. Sometimes i think they just don't want air going in there and creating weird drag. That's my guess!
Every single time I've looked at one of these since 2015 they cost way more then the silverado as far as leasing and there has never been any incentives on the midsized truck. It was a no brainer to bail on the midsized and go full only I went full on a Ford for half the payment. It makes no sense to me why the pricing is so backwards on these.

I had a 2021 ZR2 that I traded in for a 2021 Ranger Tremor. Chevy needs to step up their interior materials before they can compete. Everything was so cheap and hard plastic. I had dash rattles with the ZR2 in the first 1000 miles.
Good looking truck however now that I'm older the creature comforts are top priority. With that said no heated seats, no heated steering wheel no power sliding rear window all available on some of the competition. I still am tempted I'll just have to relocate to Florida better order flotation tires. Ha Ha. thank you!
I really like the look of the trail boss but for the price of the truck to put in a freakin plastic dash is not right. Makes sense to go with the canyon at4 which is like a luxury trail boss and the biweekly payments are only around $50 more.
Exterior looks great! But like a lot of other American builds, the interior is boring and looks cheap. Compare it to the new Toyota TRD Pro which looks a lot better in my opinion. Still a nice-looking mid-size truck overall.
Looks decent but they saved money on the worst spots. This thing is going to certainly be very expensive but that steering wheel and door panel are things you interact with every time and they made them out of cheap materials. As far as cleaning, sure, it will be easy but 90% of these will never see anything more offroad than a gravel driveway.

Chevrolet always drops the ball on details with their trucks, this should be considered a trail boss custom with all the cheap plastic and no running boards, can’t understand why they won’t offer the trail boss in LT like the Silverado, they will always be steps behind Ford and Ram for cutting corners

I really like the look of the trail boss but for the price of the truck to put in a freakin plastic dash is not right. Makes sense to go with the canyon at4 which is like a luxury trail boss and the biweekly payments are only around $50 more.

Exterior looks great! But like a lot of other American builds, the interior is boring and looks cheap. Compare it to the new Toyota TRD Pro which looks a lot better in my opinion. Still a nice-looking mid-size truck overall.

Looks decent but they saved money on the worst spots. This thing is going to certainly be very expensive but that steering wheel and door panel are things you interact with every time and they made them out of cheap materials. As far as cleaning, sure, it will be easy but 90% of these will never see anything more offroad than a gravel driveway.

Chevrolet always drops the ball on details with their trucks, this should be considered a trail boss custom with all the cheap plastic and no running boards, can’t understand why they won’t offer the trail boss in LT like the Silverado, they will always be steps behind Ford and Ram for cutting corners
