A minor sin missed: In the Japan chapter, Bentley says "this place is locked down tighter than..." And sly replies with "your database, murray's pants", but Murray doesn't wear pants, and I don't think any version had pants
You know, when a relative and myself were playing this game, we were discussing that both El Jefe and Rajan can use electric-based attacks so we just concluded that all tigers in Sly Cooper were descended from the mighty Zeus. Btw, I LOVE these "Everything wrong with" game versions. They are just as good as the originals in my opinion!
No, they are BETTER. They are much less popular and make less money so issues are easily waved away, but even so there are less of them. Most of the mistakes made are things that are reasonably hand waved away or are actually confusing things. The evidence for many of the reasons usually come from deep lore.
15:35 I'm pretty sure there was a line earlier in the game where one of the villains says something along the lines of the henchmen being from the present, but being dressed up to fit within the time periods they're being transported to as to not draw attention.
Why do the best things end abruptly on cliffhangers?(franchisewise) i mean the sly series did it, sonic satam and x did the same. Just leave it on where it can end but leave room if you want a sequel
We still dont have anything about The movie or another game i Learned that The creators of sly stoped making The series and went and make sonic BOOM GREAT ISNT IT
actually one of the heads of Sanzaru was asked about this in an interview, they DID in fact have the intention to resolve it by selling the Egypt level as DLC, which is another can of bullshit worms for another day, but they said that the story for the egypt dlc is all on paper but due to the game not selling well Sony basically said "yeah it's done" and the dlc never got made
Honestly, this game itself needs to have a sequel. So many coopers referred to in history and we've only hit 5. Slytankamen, "One Eye", His Dad...I need to know more!
I don't want an unnecessary sequel to the unnecessary sequel. Sly 3 was the perfect ending and this game ruined it in the first 10 minutes. Then the devs slapped a cliffhanger ending onto this game because they were so sure they'd get a continuation that they didn't even consider playing it safe. So now the Sly Cooper series ends on a completely unresolved cliffhanger with characters who were utterly ruined by the events of the final adventure. The best stories have a beginning, a middle, and most importantly, an END.
0:52 "Why would anyone start with the fourth game in the series?" *sweats and glances at my copy of Sly 4 that I got for Christmas and was my first Sly Cooper game*
There are two missing sins I could think of: Missing sin #1: Le Paradox only gets a life sentence? Bullshit, all the other main villains of each Sly game literally DIED at the end! Clockwerk: scrapped by Sly, Arpeggio: eaten by Clock-La, Clock-La: scrapped by Sly, again, and rotted away when the hate chip was destroyed, and Dr. M: crushed by a cave-in that he refused to leave since it had the Coopers' treasure! Missing sin #2: THOSE. FREAKING. LOADING. TIMES!
I've gotten over my initial anger of what they did with Penelope but eh, it still kind of bugs me. Also take it from a black dude, The Grizz was stereotypical in a funny way, it could have been much worse.
Oh yeah I realize that but I was under the assumption that she changed herself after she joined the gang just like the Panda King and Dmitri did (both were villains who later became good) add to that she and Bentley had a thing you gotta feel sorry for the dude.
Renny Raccoon Honestly, her being an antagonist is *cool* though. ESPECIALLY because she and Bentley used to be a thing, and that she's just as smart as he is with technology with or without his help. She's a force to be reckoned with in my opinion, if the boss AND mid-boss (the hydra thing) fights prove anything.
Izzym00 I liked the idea but just like a lot if the story in this game it just could've been done a little better. I love the game but the story is kinda weak
14:02 - actually, if Sly hadn't intervened, keep in mind that Toothpick had the cooper van, and with it, the time machine! If Sly hadn't showed up, Toothpick would've actually used the time machine to warp the train into the future!
With how the game ended, Sly 5 would probably go something like this: Sly encounters Slytutkhamen (however you spell it) since he was the first recorded Cooper from the beginning of the Thevius Raccoonus, then he mentions how he's in peril and Sly tries to help him stay alive, only for them to encounter pre-mechanized Clockwerk, and they can only beat him working together, meaning that it's Sly's fault Clockwerk turned himself into a robot to try and kill all future Coopers, essentially creating one of those time loops that fiction writers love. Then Sly comes back to the present only to find everything different, cause this series loves its cliffhangers. In all seriousness, this is one of my favorite game franchises of all time, and even though this game is pretty dumb at times, I'm glad it came out. But I feel as though there will never be a legitimate conclusion without some lose end. Also, I have literally no idea how they would work Penelope into the 5th game if they tried. I could see Bentley and Murray traveling back or meeting their ancient Egyptian equivalents that worked with TutKhamen, but they'd have to stretch it really damn far.
+Thunder Ryu some people think that Sly becomes Slytunkhamen. I assume it's like in Futurama when Fry's grandfather dies in the past and Fry becomes his own grandfather.
I like the idea of Sly running into his Egyptian ancestor, but I like the angle of what you described as more of an Intro and Chapter One, so that the rest of the game is focused on the fucked-up present. Just my 2 cents, though.
I think I'd much prefer Sly 5 to have at least a bittersweet ending instead of a cliffhanger ending. Even just something like "Sly 3" where they could come back if they wanted to but it would still be a good stopping note. Plus, Sly hasn't had a truly happy ending since the first game, even "Sly 3" was bittersweet.
*_21:54_* extra sin: Bently should've realized Penolipe was the Black Kinght sooner since a giant version of her obvious logo (which is the siloet of her face) in the middle of said Black Knight's chest ( and no it's not La Peridox's logo is shown at *_31:37_* )
The point about Clockwerk was spot-on. When I got to the end was pretty certain Le Paradox was going to turn out to be Clockwerk all along and would eventually turn himself into a mecha-owl and use his knowledge of the future and time travel to fool people into thinking he was originally an owl to cover his tracks. His motivation is even identical to Clockwerk's: butthurt that Sly's family's better and wants them dead so he can be number 1. It would have made his defeat more impactful as he'd be defeating the being who kickstarted his origin story, although it would've created a paradox. Instead we got generic time travel revenge plot no. 256
light yagami actually is true there were never any plans on a sly five game. Fun fact Murray character was meant to be bi, but when the voice actor try to do it he sounded to much like Barney so they cut that out.
Many? Don't you mean all but the prelude and final battles? Also, those are considered sort of easter eggs for long time fans. It's completely possible to miss them, and thus they aren't considered times where Clockwork is "directly seen," despite the fact that it's literally Clockwork, while Bently's daydream is, well...just a daydream.
@Aceres Red Eyes PLEASE don't tell me that you're one of those people that say "I don't like this game so therefore it isn't canon!" At the end of Sly 3, Bentley literally says "Time will tell, literally! Because I building a time machine!" Which proves that Sly 4 is canon, whether you like it or not!
@@alakazamlover4908 Well... The better half of the worse games, anyways. Big Red Button made the WiiU game, Sanzaru made Fire and Ice (which... Also wasn't great, but the Sonic fandom collectively agrees it's still leagues better than BRB's game, so they've got *that* going for them)
That part about Penelope saying that LeParadox was just a “means to an end.” Is it possible that she was actually unaware of LeParadox’s true intentions and was deceived like the others. She probably doesn’t even realized that she was traitor.
33:52 but Le paradox got off the blimp with sly's parachute, leaving sly on a crash course through time Since sly was still on the blimp. You'd need to know where in time he is to find him with the time machine.
1:23 She also wasn't taller than Bentley. Then again, it probably HAS been a few years in-universe since Honor Among Thieves. 2:33 Cooper Family Luck, perhaps? 3:15 He WAS supposed to have amnesia, remember? 3:29 Now THIS, this is what I imagine Carmelita sounding like. Congrats, Sanzaru, you actually got her voice right. Also, it's Grey Delisle-Griffin. 3:41 Because why the hell not? 3:59 In real-life it was Hanaya Yohei. The Sly Cooper timeline obviously doesn't completely follow real-life history. Also, a game made you learn something. 4:23 To be fair, there probably are non-sentient pigs in the Sly Cooper universe. 4:57 Fish are probably non-sentient in the Sly Cooper universe, given that we never see any sentient ones. 5:19 It is implied that El Jefe knew about the Cooper Gang's plan from the beginning, so he probably DOES know she's on vacation, but is acting like he doesn't know to trick the Cooper Gang. 6:30 He knows about the Cooper Gang's plan, so he's probably doing it on purpose. 6:42 He knows that's Murray in disguise, he's just acting like he doesn't to trick the Cooper Gang. 6:51 The fact that he KNOWS that's Murray makes it worse. 7:11 Pretty sure that's been the rules since Thievius Raccoonus, remember the roosters? 7:19 It's Spanish for "the boss". Also, Sly could know this, given how much time he has spent with Carmelita, so... 7:36 "Dragging out cutscene for dramatic effect" cliché. 7:47 "Minions are dumb as bricks" cliché. 8:12 I think that's what he meant. Also, before you ask, no, his capture in India doesn't count, because the Contessa was with the Klaww Gang the whole time. 8:43 Witnesses. 9:04 Unless maybe you're a public nuisance in doing so. Also, again, a game made you learn something. 9:22 He's Eastern European, so it's probably Russian or Ukrainian. 9:59 Not sure if he's serious or if he's just kidding. 10:18 If this was 1934, it probably WOULD be considered honorable to steal from banks. Also, during his epilogue, it is stated that he began stealing from corrupt lawmen. 10:47 The voices in his head, maybe? 10:59 A typo in a video game? How original. 11:12 Pretty much. Drinking alcohol would have given it a "T" rating, at best. 11:50 A few years ago, and that would have given it a "T". 12:09 I imagine that she has excellent aim in-universe, but Sly is just THAT good at dodging. Or maybe she's sort of missing on purpose. 12:46 She probably doesn't know that, and besides, she's only flirting with Tennessee to make Sly jealous. 13:33 It IS 1884, and he certainly has the face of a douchebag, so... 13:58 This WAS most likely an homage to Back to the Future, Part III. 14:01 Given that they didn't know the bridge was broken, that's probably irrelevant. 14:16 Nope. 14:23 Why don't you? 14:38 And yet, so funny. 15:15 Sabretooths were probably non-sentient in the Sly Cooper universe. 15:32 Maybe the Grizz and Le Paradox taught them English? 15:41 For all we know, he IS reading the subtitles. I mean, he does look down a few times during the conversation. 15:54 Worth noting, technically Murray invented the 80's montage, nearly 12,000 years BEFORE the 80's. 16:18 I'm gonna assume that in-universe, only Bentley's head is on screen. 16:59 He's calling Le Paradox, so maybe the radio transceiver is on the blimp. 17:33 And the time he stole the expensive Bavarian chocolate bar just to mess with Carmelita. 19:10 Why not? 19:22 I'm pretty sure that's the joke. 19:41 The other robot's the same kind of metal, so... 19:53 That's probably just generic chit-chat that Penelope programmed the robots to say. 20:09 Well, he had to restore his family legacy, so... 20:35 Again, the robots probably haven't been around for a year, they're just programmed to say stuff like that. 21:34 In Sly's defense, she pretty much only teamed up with him before because it was convenient for her, not because she wanted to. 21:49 Maybe it was recharging? 22:04 Maybe they hoped to gather more intelligence on the Black Knight while she was on her way. 22:36 As far as Bentley knows, the Black Knight kidnapped her. Or maybe he just didn't WANT to consider that they were one and the same. 22:45 That doesn't mean she still believes in it. 23:03 This is probably the best argument against all those who swear that Penelope COULDN'T turn evil. 24:27 Maybe she did, in which case, that's a clever reference. ...Nah. 24:34 Maybe... 24:59 No, she did all this to "unlock his true potential". 25:38 The police only have to prove that it's stolen and that Le Paradox bought it knowing that it was stolen, so... 25:48 That's Cooper Family Luck for ya. 26:17 Too much potential for a time paradox, since Sly's cane originally was his father's cane, so if Le Paradox stole it... 26:36 Entirely possible. Some have theorized that he went back to thieving because he was getting frustrated with all the procedures and the bureaucracy, so his increased snarky-ness could have been an extension of that. 26:51 The joke is that she was THAT bad. 27:25 If they don't know what they're getting themselves into, it would make sense for them to play it safe. For all they know, his place is booby-trapped and opening the door will set off whatever dangerous traps he has. 27:53 Rule of Funny. Look it up. 28:39 Again, Sly Cooper history does not always equal real-life history. Also, yet again, a game made you learn something. 28:55 That's the joke. 29:28 Maybe Miss Decibel's music was actually MUCH louder in-universe? 30:35 Believe it or not, Murray was originally planned to be bisexual during development of Thievius Raccoonus. 30:57 That earlier cutscene showed a younger Salim, so it's possible he had the hook gold-plated at some point. Also, you seriously didn't notice that until now? 31:13 Sly Cooper-universe anatomy does not always equal real-world anatomy. 31:41 As long as they intend to return the ancestors, it's probably fine. 31:48 Le Paradox, maybe? On a related note, when, where, and for what purpose DID he get Carmelita's normal outfit? 32:16 Because he wasn't done with the crap he had to do in the present-day. 33:02 On the point of "why not go after Bob", it's been speculated that Le Paradox found Bob by accident. As far as anyone knew until then, Slytunkhamen I was the first Cooper. So, why not just go after Slytunkhamen I as a baby? 33:31 They probably weren't that big in-universe.33:35 See previous counter-argument. 33:49 He probably meant more like "when" Sly was. 34:19 He also remained trapped in 1884, just so you know. 34:39 She's probably good at composing and teaching music, but not at performing it. 35:07 Well, we had to wait EIGHT years for Thieves in Time to come out, so...
10:20 I'm pretty sure at the credits of the game, they establish that Tennessee was more of a vigilante than a criminal, I guess he did things the John Marston way from then on
Ok Sam riegel, you have officially won me over they honestly were right to pick you for the voice of Tennessee kid Cooper You do a really remarkable job with this particular role. Not even joking!
Murray is forced to play a rhythm game similar to dance dance revolution *ding* Murray is forced to play a game of Simon just to keep up with the grizz *ding* Carmelita is forced to play a rhythm game similar to dance dance revolution *ding* Tennessee cooper doesn't say it's high noon during the use of his crackshot *ding* back to back travel to the past samurai cooper *ding* none of the guards in the shooting competition questions Carmelita's shock pistol as the shock pistol is very modern compared to the location and the fact that it shoots electricity should at lest raise several eyebrows *ding* What about the treasures in the cooper vault if the history was being erased from the thevious racoonus wouldn't that mean the treasure in the vault has disappeared as well and when they get the ancestors canes back imagine what treasures would be added to the vault now that some of them learned about modern technology *ding*
Overwatch came 2 years after Thieves in Time. And Red Dead Revolver came 9 years before Sly 4 and 11 years before Overwatch, from where they both stole this feature!
Honestly. I like you better than CinemaSins. Because their voice guy has NO emotion at all in his voice and it's gotten boring. But I like your voice better
26:15 Ya know, I never even thought of that. Sly's father was the reason Le Paradox's father was caught in the first place, and Le Paradox didn't even bother targeting him for personal reasons?
34:18 So, we're just going to ignore the fact that Toothpick was going to get killed by the train, with his henchmen trying to warn him, even though he's already deaf to even hear them, or even train coming? ...Ok. Alright, I know this series isn't any bit of sunshine and rainbows, but how much darker could this game get?!
The three biggest sins in the whole game weren't even mentioned here. 1. This game ruined Sly's suave, lady's man personality. In every game up until now, he's been so smooth and charming in front of Carmelita, but in this game he's just SUCH a wimp around her, it's like he has a completely different set of character traits. Needless to say, it took away a LOT of the charm of Sly's character, it almost felt like whoever made this script didn't even have a good idea of what kind of personality Sly has... not to mention all the witty dialogue from the past games has been replaced with facepalm worthy lines, but that's another thing entirely. 2. This game ruined Penelope's character entirely. I could go on a full rant about this for hours, but suffice to say Sly 3 Penelope and Sly 4 Penelope are like... two COMPLETELY different characters. I think Sanzaru just wanted an excuse to get rid of her as a main character... the person she showed herself to be in Sly 3 was completely ignored so she could be written off as a minor villain and ultimately out of the game... there's SO MUCH wrong here and that's just the surface, it's infuriating. 3. The final boss battle is a quicktime event. THE. FINAL. BOSS. BATTLE. IN. A. FREAKING. SLY. COOPER. GAME. IS. A. QUICKTIME. EVENT. That's beyond inexcusable. There is NO gaming franchise from my childhood like Sly Cooper, it was the video game icon of my youth, a series I played more then any other as a kid EASILY, but this game just... sigh... I hope Sanzaru never touches Sly again EVER.
It's not a gripe with quicktime events themselves. They can definitely be done right, like the ones done in the Naruto Storm games for example. The problem here is that it's the FINAL BOSS BATTLE. And it's NOTHING but quicktime events. Compare that to the previous games. Sly 1's three stage battle vs. clockwork, or Sly 3's Dr. M. Battle. Heck, even Sly 2's turret segment of a final boss battle is amazing by comparison. Those were all challenging and required quick a few tries for kids and anyone playing the games for the first time. Sly 4s is nothing like that. It's a mockery of Sly Cooper boss battles, heck, it's the worst boss fight in the entire 4 game franchise, and it's a FINAL boss fight. That's... terrible. No innovation, no challenge, no fun whatsoever. It's so anticlimatic and outright disappointing... and it's the ENTIRE FIGHT. It doesn't even have segments like... you know, EVERY other boss fight in the game.
Several things, The ancestors canes look nothing like how they did in the original Sly Cooper games and every ancestor plays like a Sly clone and when we were promised during interviews that they weren't Sly clones Every ancestor are all stereotypes from their culture and they hardly show any real personality at all. Also Salim Al Kupar was reduced from a guy who had the stealth of 40 thieves, to a Raccoon in a group called 40 Thieves. And literally every one of them is a rat. Penelope's disappearance could have been easily portrayed as she never joined the gang because of all these time paradoxes and the whole journey could have been to help Sly from not disappearing or something. Also Sly Coopers art design was pretty much like a cartoon comic when it came to cutscenes in the original trilogy but now they look pure cartoony Unless they have a REALLY good reason for it, a video game company shouldn't change proper cannon like former team members becoming villain or changing Salims origin when Sanzaru games didn't create Sly Cooper at all. These locations in time or more like dimensions because they don't have any effect by time at all. Sly is the only person who has repeated postures during Binocucom call while others don't. Bob knows the Dive move before it was even invented and written down in the Thievious Racoonus.
Team DRC i will agree on a few points. Just blame those on the fact that they were TOLD things about the franchise instead of doin the games themselves or research to ensure they knew they weren’t going to ruin anything unless they planned to reboot
My biggest question is how the fuck did some of the ancestors knew techniques that were invinted centuries later their deaths? (Like Sir Galleth doing the ninja moves)
Straight up fuck this game. Character and cannon ruining shit fest that makes clockwork AN EASTER EGG in a game focused on some loon trying to murder his ancestry. REALLY devs?
The ultimate sin in the game? Le Paradox stealing the canes was entirely pointless, rather than just a trophy for the captures of the ancestors. Sure, Toothpick, Grizz, and Penelope all did their jobs by capturing the respective Coopers and then taking their canes, but taking the canes at all didn't mean anything. It was all because they were thwarted and captured (with the exception of Salim, who avoided capture). Besides, the Coopers more than likely had more than one cane; just look at all the canes in the Cooper Vault on Kaine Island. Also, here's an interesting fact: Rioichi was friends with a shark, who then grew old, and for his final wish, he told Riochi to use his flesh and make it into the finest sushi.
These are really great. Not only did you perfectly capture CinemaSins' style of humor perfectly, you've even managed to come up with your own running gags or spins on CS's running gags (I'm really glad you have the "furry lapdance" joke since CS has abandoned theirs). You deserve WAY more views and subs than you currently have.
30:34 I'm not surprised Murray was intent on cross-dressing. The original team at Sucker Punch had intended for Murray to be homosexual until deciding against it as while funny, it didn't really lend itself to the story they were weaving nor that much comedy potential to make it worth pursuing. Sanzaru apparently thought differently and brought back that aspect on a low-key to be played up for humor... which, as we see, is falling flat.
Bonus sin: just before the cutscene ends 4:08 Sly , after explaining the situation , says it was all a big fish to swallow as a bad joke in reference to sushi made from fish. That is just dark , horrible and deserves 5 more sins. Sin counter 22
Another minor sin missed. Sly's hat falls off in his fight with Decibel. It happens like a few seconds before 31:02 in the cutscene. When we see it next, it's on top of the blimp right next to Sly. The character models aren't near the top yet so that hat should be lost to time. Pun intended.
When Penelope said "It's time to pay the fiddler", she was referring to herself, since she played the gang like, you know, a fiddle. So this doesn't count as a sin.
I know. I have so many questions. What happens to Sly? Does he get back to the present? Does Bentley ever find Penelope? If so, what will happen? Like I said, those are the questions I want answered.
tecnicaly clockwork is in the game, in the background, alwais watching... thats actualy kind a cool and creepy, you don't NEED a boss fight... but hes father?, yea i want to see him, maybe even save hes ass
1:35 how did Charri5 not catch this! The Theivius Racoonus had a keyhole on its side that bounded it shut. But NOOOOO somehow Bentley is just able to INSTANTLY open the book WITHOUT ANY KIND OF FUCKIN’ KEY. Come on, Charri!
True, it wasn’t the first time sly has been caught & put in jail. But that wasn’t Sly’s choice. He & Murray were only locked up cause Neyla betrayed them. In this game. It was totally Sly’s (& Bently’s) choice for him to get arrested & thrown in jail
15: Because Dimitri only needs himself to have a good time, and that is NOT a sexual euphemism 145: hopefully Sucker Punch will pick it up after Ghosts of Tsushima
10:26 Tennessee Kid Cooper was telling this to the player. I personally wouldn't count that as canon because who would act like they're talking to a player in real life? It was added in the game so the player would know what to do.
I'm still mad by the fact of Penelope being the villain! It just doesn't make any sense! In Sly 3 she was a great teammate, admired Sly and loved Bentley for saving her!
BTW, Sly has upgrade for his cane from the second game which allows him to climb on ice walls. And this little detail makes Bob ABSOLUTLY USELESS! 24:11 And yeah, Murray now can swim. But at the same time, he can't. The magic of the swimsuit, i guess?
Actually clockwork is actually in the game not only on the cut scene, you see him in someplaces if you remember the first game that the pages of the book and you remember the times in sly you may see him
26:13 Well, Clockwerk is brought up. during every chapter, Clockwerk can be seen around the hub worlds, usually perch up somewhere keeping an eye out on Sly's ancestors, since the game following this one hasnt been released yet (keeping my hopes up after all this time) it was possible both Clockwerk and Sly's father would make an appearance along with the Egyptian Ancestor, who is hinted at the end cutscene of this game.
Ok, I take issue with Sly clarifying that Carmelita believed he had amnesia. She didn't. I know the final cutscene of the 3rd game was a bit subtle and ambiguous as to whether she actually bought it or not, but if you look at where their relationship is moving in the 3rd game, you can tell that she doesn't actually believe him. She plays along because they both want this, want to be together, and this is an easy out of their current situation. Even if your interpretation is that she did believe him, I highly doubt he would've kept that a secret from her for the rest of their lives. He also couldn't.
I know this video is from 2 years ago and I doubt that anyone will read this comment, but at 15:17 I think the word you are looking for is "anthropomorphic" not "sentient" because while animals do have instincts, they are sentient creatures, and many people know this with cats and dogs, they don't just act upon instinct like you made it sound like.
2 sins you missed: At the beginning of the game during the Museum Heist, Sly was going behind his cop girlfriend's back to rob that museum. Why in the world would he leave his calling card!? Whenever a character looks through the Binoc-u-com, we are seeing through their eyes. Knowing this, explain to me how the camera is flying all over the place. Rewatch the scene starting at 27:59. How does that work?
I had the headcannon that slys being a master thief is why Carmalitas got a hard time hitting him: it’s not that she sucks, it’s that he’s so good he’s able to avoid them LIKE she sucks.
If you want my opinion, the biggest sin of this game is Penelope's character. I mean, Penelope in Sly 3 was one of my favourite characters, not just because she had a cute design, but I loved the fact that Bentley had someone he loved, a girlfriend, an amazing tech partner. Not only that, but Penelope admired Sly's team, she enjoyed helping the team with whatever they can and there was no sign of her disliking anything about it. The way she was portrayed in this game is just the complete opposite! There was nothing in her character from Sly 3 represented in this game! Instead, they made her into a minor villain to mess up Bentley's feelings and find a way to get her out of the series! That's just wrong, people! They could've found another way to not bring back Penelope back to the series that doesn't involve making her into a villain when there was no reason for her to be one in the first place!!! THEY COMPLETELY RUINED PENELOPE'S CHARACTER!!!!!! I'm serious, after I beat that chapter, I stopped playing the game for a month just so I can cope with that moment. I hate this chapter BECAUSE of the fact that Penelope is the Villain. It's awful, it's stupid and it's such a killjoy, that made this, at least for me, the worst chapter in the game, BY FAR!!!!!! The only saving grace I had for this chapter is that at least Sly's ancestor Galleth Cooper was entertaining. EDIT: Now I'll say this. If they want to make Penelope a villain, they could at least make a better excuse! There must be an even more powerful reason for Penelope's betrayal, because what we've got from the game was poorly done, thus seeing how many people don't like the plot-twist OR the fact of Penelope suddenly becoming a villain (WHICH I'M ONE OF THEM!). One good example is that she may have traveled to the future and saw a horrible tragedy happened to the cooper gang, like they died in a heist or the clockwork may have returned and killed them, or anything! That would make a good excuse for Penelope to be a "Villain" so that she could try and have Bentley leave the Cooper Gang and save him. I know there are other ways for Penelope to be a villain, but what we got from the game was poorly done!
*NEXT UP:* Fly me to the moon, again.

A minor sin missed:
In the Japan chapter, Bentley says "this place is locked down tighter than..." And sly replies with "your database, murray's pants", but Murray doesn't wear pants, and I don't think any version had pants
So Murray was naked the whole time?
@@SealSlap5069 thank you for that thought

Yeah, I think T-kid is “one horn short of a jackalope” if you catch my drift.
the biggest sin is that it ended on a cliffhanger and the developers have no intention of resolving it, to which I say bullshit!
self helper That's one of the only ones I considered a sin.
Why do the best things end abruptly on cliffhangers?(franchisewise) i mean the sly series did it, sonic satam and x did the same. Just leave it on where it can end but leave room if you want a sequel
We still dont have anything about The movie or another game i Learned that The creators of sly stoped making The series and went and make sonic BOOM GREAT ISNT IT
that is because of sony and not sanzaru, last level was cut due to memory limitations with the ps vita.
actually one of the heads of Sanzaru was asked about this in an interview, they DID in fact have the intention to resolve it by selling the Egypt level as DLC, which is another can of bullshit worms for another day, but they said that the story for the egypt dlc is all on paper but due to the game not selling well Sony basically said "yeah it's done" and the dlc never got made
Honestly, this game itself needs to have a sequel. So many coopers referred to in history and we've only hit 5. Slytankamen, "One Eye", His Dad...I need to know more!
And don’t forget sleigh mccooper, he’d be voiced by John DiMaggio and play like bob but can do the actual stealth thing
@jaketucker2559 The scotsman as a racoon? Nice.

@@cinissonicspeed I’m so sorry for you all . The games not bad but not the best.
It’s like if your first Star Wars film was revenge of the Sith.
@@cinissonicspeed Same here.
There are two missing sins I could think of:
Missing sin #1: Le Paradox only gets a life sentence?
Yes it was, make you wonder what they were gonna do with her in the next game since she was the only one that got away.
Star Stacker Agreed, it could've been pulled off better honestly ^^
Just my 2 cents, though.
you're right the games truly loves its cliffhangers
I think I'd much prefer Sly 5 to have at least a bittersweet ending instead of a cliffhanger ending. Even just something like "Sly 3" where they could come back if they wanted to but it would still be a good stopping note. Plus, Sly hasn't had a truly happy ending since the first game, even "Sly 3" was bittersweet.
I’ve always had the theory that sly is his eqyption ancestor making his whole family tree a bootstrap paradox
*_21:54_*
extra sin: Bently should've realized Penolipe was the Black Kinght sooner since a giant version of her obvious logo (which is the siloet of her face) in the middle of said Black Knight's chest
( and no it's not La Peridox's logo is shown at *_31:37_* )
The point about Clockwerk was spot-on. 256
Or at least Clockwerk could have manipulated Le Paradox and trying to get him to help defeat the Coopers of the past.
11:26 I almost died laughing with this whole exchange here, I felt the same way first playing the game
Actually the creators of sly 4 decide not to do a sly 5 so they could work on sonic boom. Great choice...
nicholas rivera That better not be true
light yagami actually is true there were never any plans on a sly five game. Fun fact Murray character was meant to be bi, but when the voice actor try to do it he sounded to much like Barney so they cut that out.
nicholas rivera Sly 4 ended on a cliff hanger -___-
nicholas rivera Wow they made the biggest mistake they could make they should of just made sly 5 instead of the abomination that is sonic boom
Swift Suicune Sometimes game series just end with cliffhangers but hopefully sly 5 does happen

Taura Fall right I was thinking the same thing
BB Hoody huh that would have been interesting.
BB Hoody Well sh*t mate. The more you learn.
Murray was always awkward and loving with his buds, especially Bentley. I guess it was bound to pop up sooner or later.
BB Hoody Not in my fanfiction
Actually clockwork is in the game, you can find him in many levels on high up places throughout the game.
Many? Don't you mean all but the prelude and final battles?
Also, those are considered sort of easter eggs for long time fans. It's completely possible to miss them, and thus they aren't considered times where Clockwork is "directly seen," despite the fact that it's literally Clockwork, while Bently's daydream is, well...just a daydream.
lizard1255 you got give the creators credit for adding that detail, clockwerk HAS existed since some of the early Cooper
Aceres Red Eyes well the game as a whole is more cartoony
@Aceres Red Eyes PLEASE don't tell me that you're one of those people that say "I don't like this game so therefore it isn't canon!" At the end of Sly 3, Bentley literally says "Time will tell, literally! Because I building a time machine!" Which proves that Sly 4 is canon, whether you like it or not!
Wasn't there also an item that you can get in Sly 4 that is one of Clockwerk's body parts? Yeah I think it allows you to find bottles!
To anyone who’s wondering; the reason Sanzaru never made Sly 5 is because they ditched it to make Sonic Boom.

24:42 You work for a thief, too though, Penelope.
8:18 Also, key words being "have to." He didn't HAVE to let Carmelita arrest him, but he did so anyway for Bentley and Murray's sake.
I literally jumped at 6:52 'cuz I was literally thinking "Uhhhhhh, isn't this a kid's game?"
That part about Penelope saying that LeParadox was just a “means to an end.” Is it possible that she was actually unaware of LeParadox’s true intentions and was deceived like the others. She probably doesn’t even realized that she was traitor.
"Wasn't Sly already a time lord?" Technically, his other technique to slow down time slowed him down just as much as it did the guards.
Well in that case its been shown timelords can witness time however they want so yeah Sly was ALREADY a timelord

Amen, and more besides. Shall we grab a big 'ol lemonade and drown our sorrows?
PsychadelicoDuck Just make sure you're not "over the limit" or Carmelita will pull you over for Driving While Sugared-up and taser you lol
RCPTMOE WHY THE FUCK DO PEOPLE HATE QUICK TIME EVENTS?!
Ok
This was, and is to this day, the only Sly game I even own.
Several things,
The ancestors canes look nothing like how they did in the original Sly Cooper games and every ancestor plays like a Sly clone and when we were promised during interviews that they weren't Sly clones
Every ancestor are all stereotypes from their culture and they hardly show any real personality at all.
Also Sly Coopers art design was pretty much like a cartoon comic when it came to cutscenes in the original trilogy but now they look pure cartoony
Unless they have a REALLY good reason for it, a video game company shouldn't change proper cannon like former team members becoming villain or changing Salims origin when Sanzaru games didn't create Sly Cooper at all.
These locations in time or more like dimensions because they don't have any effect by time at all.
Sly is the only person who has repeated postures during Binocucom call while others don't.
Bob knows the Dive move before it was even invented and written down in the Thievious Racoonus.
Aceres Red Eyes The developers have said in interviews that Sly's ancestor's weren't clones of Sly, but "expansions" of him.
Team DRC i will agree on a few points. Just blame those on the fact that they were TOLD things about the franchise instead of doin the games themselves or research to ensure they knew they weren’t going to ruin anything unless they planned to reboot
Yeah, the knight ancestor looks EXACTLY like Sly and sounds like him. I'm pretty sure they were voiced by the same guy.
21:45 "What is it, a toaster?"
I completely lost it XD
30:00 and yet, you don't sinned the lapdance XD
These are really great. Not only did you perfectly capture CinemaSins' style of humor perfectly, you've even managed to come up with your own running gags or spins on CS's running gags (I'm really glad you have the "furry lapdance" joke since CS has abandoned theirs). You deserve WAY more views and subs than you currently have.
3:37 dude... Dimitri doesn't NEED anyone to party... He's GREASY SWEET
26:16 - and don't forget that we can also see him perched in various places in each chapter, plotting his next move.
I clicked on this so fast because of EWW and Sly Cooper. Golden!!

"its been 4 years, where's sly 5 damn it"

Me: so 10 years then.....damn
Bonus sin: just before the cutscene ends 4:08 Sly , after explaining the situation , says it was all a big fish to swallow as a bad joke in reference to sushi made from fish. That is just dark , horrible and deserves 5 more sins. Sin counter 22
Another minor sin missed. Sly's hat falls off in his fight with Decibel. It happens like a few seconds before 31:02 in the cutscene. When we see it next, it's on top of the blimp right next to Sly. The character models aren't near the top yet so that hat should be lost to time. Pun intended.
21:52
"What Is it a toaster?"
Well it does breath fire so....
When Penelope said "It's time to pay the fiddler", she was referring to herself, since she played the gang like, you know, a fiddle. So this doesn't count as a sin.
I really hope Sly 5 becomes a thing.
Gravity Falls Canada nope not until the sly tv series and movie comes out.

But, saving Sly’s father would create an actual paradox, since him dying is how Sly met Murray and Bentley
By God, your grammar.
We really need the next game made soon they left us on a cliffhanger
34:40 Uuhhh... those who can't, teach?
Here I am watching these around the 20th anniversary of Sly cooper and that 4 years has turned into 10 and still no Sly 5...
Thanks for doing the whole series! I love the Sly games and these videos were hilarious.
One of your best, man.
And I'm with you, hopefully we will get Sly 5 soon.
8:15 actually Sly did go to jail, he add Murray were captured in Sly 2 by Neyla and the Contessa and thrown into her maximum security prison.
True, it wasn’t the first time sly has been caught & put in jail. But that wasn’t Sly’s choice. He & Murray were only locked up cause Neyla betrayed them.
In this game. It was totally Sly’s (& Bently’s) choice for him to get arrested & thrown in jail
15: Because Dimitri only needs himself to have a good time, and that is NOT a sexual euphemism
145: hopefully Sucker Punch will pick it up after Ghosts of Tsushima
I'm sorry but that first one is hilarious
Hopefully suckerpunch will pick it back up and decannonize this entire shit show of a game
3:00 I'm not either Charriii.
3:43 whys Dimitri partying with himself? Cause he's Dimitri, and he's so much of a beast.
It's been 9 years and we still don't have the movie where's sly 5 damn it.
Actually clockwork is actually in the game not only on the cut scene, you see him in someplaces if you remember the first game that the pages of the book and you remember the times in sly you may see him
7:21 *THATS NOT PROPER SPANISH GRAMMAR! THATS NOT PROPER SPANISH GRAMMAR!*
wait are tigers even native to mexico or Spain?
edited: googled it and nope Southern Asia why does this tiger know Spanish
26:13 Well, Clockwerk is brought up. during every chapter, Clockwerk can be seen around the hub worlds, usually perch up somewhere keeping an eye out on Sly's ancestors, since the game following this one hasnt been released yet (keeping my hopes up after all this time) it was possible both Clockwerk and Sly's father would make an appearance along with the Egyptian Ancestor, who is hinted at the end cutscene of this game.
Its so weird how penelope had a crush on Sly in the third game, but acted like that never happened in this game.
He also couldn't.
fun fact Murray was gonna be flamboyant and gay but it was cut from the first game
The _Joking_Monkay oh shoot no wonder 😂
The _Joking_Monkay ummm no... it was crossdressing. Major major difference.
33:15 Yeah like all the others: Neyla, Arpeggio, Lefwette, and Dr. M. Your the pattern breaker Cyril. (Missing sin)
RIP for the Sly Cooper that have never got off the ground 😔.
Sly Cooper the Movie
Sly 5
Two things the world of gaming needs
1: Sly 5
2: Kid Icarus: The Second Uprising
I think the coolest part about this game is that you can see Clockwerk watching you in the background.
I swear on my mother's shell, Galleth is voiced by Roger Craig Smith.
It's been - 6 more years, since this video was made - still no Sly 5 or movie.
How can a movie be stuck in development hell for 8 years? Wouldn't it be development purgatory at this point?
@@ShadowtheUA-camr523 Who knows. Ask Warner Brothers about Wile E Coyote Vs Acme.
10:40 Great but who are you tell this to? Me: The voice in his head of course.
I think you meant Sly 1 when you were calling out Bentley's supposed disbelief in superstition since in Sly 1, Bentley made a deal with a ghost.
Actually there were ghosts in Sly 2, Sly took pictures of them to capture them, however that works.
Brock Sells then there was also the creepy vampire things that general tsao made
One missed sin: THE BOB TRAINING MISSION IS A PAIN TO COMPLETE. Especially the 15 second egg.
The one I was waiting for the most.
I loved this game, personally a fan of the art style, thanks fir the new video!
1:47 Everything Wrong With Sonic & The Secret Rings Reference Nice Charriii5 😆😉
I was so mad when i finished this game that I could come up with at least 100 more sins.
El Jefe means "Boss" right?
Nathaniel DarDar si señor
DragonBaller 564 Gracias.
It means "The Boss" in Spanish, El being Male Affirmative.
no it means big baby
EmilianoM04 thats a weird way to spell dead meme
You say we never see Clockwerk directly but there are six occasions where you CAN see him directly
I think he meant as bringing Clockwerk back as a villain instead of as an easter egg
7:48 The answer: IT'S IN THE SCRIPT!!!!
8:12 To be fair, he said let the law capture him. He was ambushed in Sly 2.
10:47 He's talking to the player, 4th wall break.
him : " fishing ? in a world of animals? isint that kinda dark? "
tell that to animal corssing
