Hey David, I was wondering if you could make a podcast on *transitioning into adulthood* . Things like deciding on a career, whether to go to college or not, handling money, taking on new responsibilities, making new friends, social life, moving out, finding a job, getting out of your comfort zone, decision making, etc. I feel like this could really help out a lot of the younger audience 🙂👍
I love how david protects mariel when she makes statements that could be interpreted in the wrong way. He agrees with her point and then proceeds to clarify what she meant because he knows her heart and knows the intention behind her words.
What gets me coming back is how real these conversations are. It's like a combo of therapy and good friend talks all in one in a non-interactive and open manner for us.
I feel like I totally relate to David's break up story. I dated a guy for 4 years (2 1/2 years were long distance) and I realized I didn't have an identity outside of my relationship. We broke up and I started going out with other people just to gain experience to know what I want out of a partner until I found someone who showed me that I didn't need to lose myself in him (as well as showing him how to be in a long term relationship since I'm technically his first serious girlfriend). It took time but slowly I started being able to be vulnerable with him and show my true feelings without feeling guilty about it.
0:34 "why this podcast is becoming more about relationships and and social situation?" The answer has to do with your audience composition. I assume it is mainly composed of Asians and more males than females (like most UA-cam channels). These subjects are a priority for this type of audience.
Lol David starts talking about getting dumped and heartbreak and I had a full 60 seconds for a flashback. Of when I got my heartbroken 😂 shit can be traumatic for some
I don't usually watch your podcast but I'm glad I did today because you explain things so clearly that I havent been able to explain in my own words. And that's why I'm gonna start watching regularly from now on. :)
This is a beautiful ep! I often listen to serious podcasts and audiobooks, but this particular podcast helps me to be more grounded. There's a sense of familiarity to it like listening to your bestfriend's story especially when you're feeling overwhelmed and lonely. I also wanna ask if you have any links to the Joe Rogan's podcast ep that David listened to? Thank you!
I find it oxymoron-ish to talk about relationships and social situations and funny how it's called GeniusBrain because you think with that title you expect practicality and thinking something rational/knowledgeable. But rather we're here for the emotional thought process. I like it. I think I kinda explained it wrong. But hopefully anyone who reads understands what I mean.
Hey David, first off I love every last one of your videos and I think your one of the best UA-cam/ entertainers of all time!!! 💯 but questions what types of healthy foods do you and Mariel love to eat??? Anything helps much love
Seems like everyone shares a lot of these problems, including myself, but relationships can only be successful with this kind of open dialogue. Thanks for being vulnerable with each other and your audience! 💛
Your guys' talk today... so much I related to personality and am working through myself too, from vulnerability all the way to weight gain/loss ♡♡♡ thank you 💖
Either I'm a dumbass by thinking those cups are fucking gargantuan because of the camera position makes it seem like they're on the floor or those are some big ass mugs
Oh man David.. My first breakup was exactly the same, at 19 too.. I was so dependant on my ex to be happy that when we broke up and he started being distant(despite saying he hoped it wouldn't cut our friendship, but i mean it's been 3 years tho so we're good now) I realized how I lost my own self identity and as painful as it was, I'm grateful for that breakup because it opened my eyes to start really working on myself and figure out my own happy. Now I got probably too high standards for my own league but at least now I have a list of what I can or can't tolerate if I were to be in another relationship.😂
David your my Goggins lol I have lost 40 lbs on my way to a hundred! I just try my best every day. I don't judge my self to others. I am the best person I can be every day.
I appreciate how y'all aren't mushy like most couples tend to present themselves. Online or not 😂 Just realness I think. Whether you are a couple or just friends, you would still work well together without having to put on a "show."
Hey david! Can you guest as yourself talking about that change in perspective where you stopped thinking "I'm fine" or "I'm cute" and took responsibility for your health?
Hey David, it would be amazing if I could get your insight on friends/bffs. Is it important to have them? What qualities make a good friend to keep around? Have you had an experience where you been back-stabbed by a friend you trusted? Would love to hear your input and stories, if you have any :) Hell, it would be amazing if I could come on and do an episode with you!

Anyone else have a vulnerability barrier so strong that all relationships seem scary?
Yes definitely. I'm scared of being with someone and knowing that love has risks.
