i dont even remember how i ended up here but ive just starting binge watching a bunch of your videos, really fucking awesome content and is a really nice breath of fresh air
I have a 2003 dated size 2, dual port FM12 that I bought for $60 off Amazon a couple months back for a cosplay that I'm doing, but obviously it has more use to me than just that. It was supposedly EMS training surplus, so it's in quite good shape. I think it's quite comfortable, but I won't know just how comfortable it is until I buy a GP5 and an M10, since there's listings for both on Amazon for around $25-$30.
Thought i'd comment about the drinking tube bit. I own an FM12 and the drinking tube placement is different from the S10's. I'm sure there's a video of the interior of one somewhere but i can honestly say every time i've worn it, i've had no unintended contact with the drinking tube. It's placed to the far left side of the mask as to not have the face poking issue. I'm probably not going to use it, but it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Though as you pointed out, it's definitely not a flaw-proof system, but i thought i'd point it out anyways. This mask happens to be my favorite as well
Glad it's a bit better than the S10 then, but I'm still of the opinion, as a civilian I wouldn't mess around with the idea of a drinking tube, especially not the Israeli style ones that don't even use a sealed bottle cap to work.
I am going to keep my eye open for one of these on Ebay. Maybe my GP-5 will just be a decoration instead. Lol....the filters seem so hard to find. I really like you're channel. :)
Great video! I've been binge watching your videos to help me find just the right gas mask and filter for me. Btw, what filter are you using in this video?
I’m in the UK and I can’t find any CT12 gas masks, I can only find S10 gas masks and also a lot of S10 two filter variants and also the a lot of FM12 two filter variants.
Nice video also Im on holiday in Amsterdam and a bong shop ( I don't go in them ) they had got one of those Israeli civilian masks and attached a bong to it!!! I have seen everything now 😄😂
I just got my Serbian M2 gas mask. I have to say it's hard to put it on your face because it leaks sometimes, put when you put it right everything's fine. Really love my 2 gas masks Avon FM12 and this Serbian M2. It says it's made in 1981. I would prefer FM12 over the M2 because it's easier to put on, more comfortable, uses 40mm filters and eye lenses don't fog. So for the FM12 I would give 10/10 and for M2 I would give 8/10.
Oh so it isn't M2 (My mistake) it's a M1. It has a 60mm filter and it's made in 1981 so it was made during SFRJ (Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) Still got only 1 filter and I don't even know if it will work because it's from 1981.
I need to get around to buying one myself, as I think having a radio voice for costumes or the like could be really neat. I have an S10. Somehow, the filter, even though I got a used one with red marks, works well enough not to smell perfume through. Or a rotten fridge, which it turned out quite useful for. Should get around to getting actual sealed in-date filters though, but I'm not exactly in any kind of danger zone here. Just an interest thingamy.
I'm hoping to get one for my birthday so was wondering if the canisters contain chromium? As my dad is concerned about me getting cancer so I would like to know, thanks for the great vids
@@YLS8763 true, I think it’s just the nature of British surplus, and the lack of interest for it in the US. What if you have to wear a gas mask for a long time, will a filter's expiration date shorten. Like if it was on a shelf and it's self life was 18 years, then you have to use it for hypothetically for 18 years will it last that entire time? I apologize if this doesn't make sense.
Filters expire very quickly once opened, basically it's like canned food, once you open it, it will go off quickly, in theory opening and re-sealing a filter will extend it's life, but with the seal broken the filter has to work and the charcoal inside can only adsorb a certain amount of vapour.

Devan Anderson umm yeah... Collecting purposes...
Seanbee 04 I swear it's for collecting! XD

Just wipe it?
Wipe it with a damp cloth, or just polish the mask up with silicone spray.

+Filip M1s have a habit of melting.
Melting? When does it melt?
I see the CT 12 has 2 places for filters, if I only put 1 filter in it would air/other stuff leak in the other port or is it completely safe.
You need to load a blanking plug if you use only one filter, that blocks air from coming in that side and acts as an extra voice diaphragm.
