What were the options list? I’ve noticed some DLS owners have a higher shifter, others have no rubber boot, or they have a painted center tunnel. Additionally, what’s an unknown fact about the DLS program that hasn’t been talked publicly?
@JMV.12 Thanks for the question! The options list for the DLS is rather long. The only functional options are front axle lift and FOCAL audio system; everything else is a cosmetic option. Of course, Singer is largely about making a client’s dream come true, so you’ll see some commissions with revised shifter configuration, metal bezels around signal lights, and I’ve even heard of a sunroof being cut into one DLS… but I’m not sure if the owner pulled the trigger on that idea in the end. I haven’t seen a higher shifter, but I’ll look around. The painted tunnel is just one of many cosmetic options. When it comes to cosmetics, the permutations and combinations are dizzying to calculate. Sky is truly the limit. An unknown fact about the DLS program? The first 5 cars in the build sequence were assembled by the same guys that worked on low-volume-high-excitement cars like the Aston Martin One-77, Valkyrie, Lagonda Taraf, and Vanquish Zagato; the Ford GT Mk II, Mustang GT3, Mustang GT4, and GT GTLM/GLE; and other crazy stuff, no doubt. Did you guess Multimatic? You’re right. Singer switched to assembling the cars themselves, in the UK, after realising they would be able to deliver cars sooner than if waiting for the busy Multimatic to have more bandwidth. So Singer went and duplicated their LA operations, but tailored for the DLS, in the UK with a paint & body shop as well.
