As a seasoned patient, I appreciate a seasoned nurse. I was in the hospital 11 months 2 weeks and 3 days STRAIGHT. I got to know the staff well. They knew I didn't need anything outside of meds because my family did everything else. (I also fed everyone when they brought me my food, so if my 2 favs were on duty they'd flip a coin to see who got me thst day. I still keep in contact with them 6 yrs later)
I take two meds that sound very similar but do very different things, one is an antidepressant and the other gets rid of a side effect of another med. One is also a generic and I get the name brand mixed in my head too. So I’m in the office like “I take “this” and “this” no idea what does what”. Bless their souls the nurse just nods, smiles and tells me what they do every time.
Yes!! “I’m sorry. I clonazapam?” Pt: no. Topazam Me: umm I’m sorry maybe you could speak a little louder. The phone makes it sound like you’re whispering Them angry whisper followed by a flush: tompam i need my tompam Me: uhhb what are you taking it for? Them: I don’t know. My doctor gave it to me and i take it. It’s a white pill. They meant Temazapam...and it was an Orange pill.
paediatric one is super accurate :^) a lot of our patience is drained on the patients so we tend to get a little tempered when things take longer than we want ^^;
That one about the itch in throat and corna virus is so meeee....anytime my throat starts to itch and I need to cough I get so anxious that my eyes start watering and I have to be pretending that I'm fine in front of the patients.
I’m similar to a cna but in Australia. The nurses in my ward regularly work doubles, often afternoon to night which is 17 hours in total including break and then they still come in the next 3 nights and do their 9.5 hour shifts, sometimes staying half an hour to an hour extra to continue notes because they helped with getting morning meds done before morning shift arrives etc (each shift in my ward does it for eachother if they can because afternoon shift will arrive at 1.30 while the 2pm meds are already sorted out and ready to go for 2pm)
Today, I'm a 6-day-old new grad RN who just got off of 8-weeks of orientation. I was a CNA for 8 years. These meme videos either made me cry or laugh. Thank you.
That last one. 😂 So that’s why nurses at new offices I go to always look so surprised and excited when I list my meds. Friend, I’ve been on a lot of these meds for over half my life. I hope I’ve got the names down by now!
Conversation between me and my nurse this week: Nurse: Any new medications? Me: Yeah, for my blood pressure and cholesterol. Nurse: OK what are they? Me: one begins with an M. Nurse: Metoprolol? Me: yeah Nurse: And the other? Me: It begins with an A. Nurse: Atorvastatin? Me: yeah. How do you do that?
The last skit killed it my dad cant pronounce none of his medication for shit either I got to list them all for the nurse anytime he has to go to the hospital!
I’ve done 3 12 hour shifts at Amazon before, I liked my job but it messed up my sleep schedule cuz I did graveyard shift, if I did it at the beginning of the day I think I’d be ok
So this is my Brother's Sense of humor he's an ER RN & Former EMT. And he is also Training New EMTs. So he's Basically a Nurse & a Teacher. Fun Fact: He wanted to be a Football Coach now he's sizing up the line backers that come into his class and he's like "Yeah this dude is going to end up as a Plumber."
The male CNA clip had me dying of laughter
He has a whole UA-cam channel.
So, this person too a clip from it. I hate edit thieves that steal others’ content.
he's soooo funny! here's his UA-cam channel

That one about the itch in throat and corna virus is so meeee....anytime my throat starts to itch and I need to cough I get so anxious that my eyes start watering and I have to be pretending that I'm fine in front of the patients.

The one about the sperm sample collection got me rolling on the floor.
My school offers a program to help students learn a trade/job without the stress of trade school. Nursing is one of the options and it’s my top one.

3 12’s huh…try 3 24’s
I'm alarmed that every nurse suddenly seems to be about 21 years old and acts like they're 12. Then I remember that this is just the world of TikTok.
Veterans leaving in droves, to non bedside, like education
Lol
Love it
I’m lpn
No one that deserves to be in the medical field use the word cripple
