    I’m happy for you guys and I believe that Johnny Morris is an incredible human being and he had a vision 50+ years ago and when I see how loyal he’s been to his OG anglers it’s one of the best parts of who he is, and what he has contributed and continues to do for every aspect of fishing and the outdoors is truly remarkable and he is so authentic,you’re in the right place with your team no doubt.

    • @theINQBS
      @theINQBS Рік тому +1

      Johnny Morris has done wonderful things overall, but what he's done with the boat brands he's bought is deplorable! Mako boats are some of the most amazingly well engineered machines, but the corners he forces his staff to cut results in boats that fall apart, and there is simply no refuting that.
      Can't tell you how many compartment doors crack and fracture in no time and if you take the time to actually look inside the outer gelcoat layer, there's a 90% chance you will see a RAW sheet of fiberglass with absolutely ZERO resin!… NONE!!!
      When he took over Ranger his first order of business was to TELL them how things would be changing, which was to cheapen the process exactly the way they did with Mako, and most of the employees walked out because they refused to build a lesser product just to increase the profit margin substantially.
      At the price points of his boats, they should be built the right way. Chop Gunning exclusively is a huge no-no and it results in boats that will not endure the test of time.

    Nothing negative! Awesome podcast! I think that the guy who is in the fxr because of you, it’s absolutely true. You’re either really humble or pulling our legs though. Your smallmouth documentary was informative/educational. When you walked us through your boat setup last year, very detailed. A company sees your abilities, and know that you’re very serious, it comes through your blogs. I use certain hooks because of an elite angler. When KVD switched, I felt my decisions were validated, and have bought more rod/reels because I believe him. So, we hear what you guys are saying, and making decisions based on the content. Congratulations 👏🏻

    Y'all definitely have it figured out. Way ahead of the curve. The tournament organizations can't push the sport far enough forward. See BPT, they tried to change it and push it forward, but it hasn't happened mainly because a logo'd up bass pro only generates so much revenue for sponsors and dollars. The anglers carry the sport of bass fishing, but "content" is the avenue that moves the sponsor needle. And good content provides exposure exponentially compared to just tournaments. Anglers like Chris who are now creating their own content, but validating it with Tier 1 tournament success are now going to have the most exposure, garner the most key sponsor dollars and in my opinion finally start to drive tournament fishing to the next level. Really exciting times for the sport. Y'all are a great team!

    Good video. You're right about the Nitro stigma. It may be a thing of the past with White River Marine Group taking them over, but the concern is still there. I like the layout of the Z20, and am thinking about getting one. A boat in that class/category anyway, but as you know the Nitro similarly equipped is at least 10K cheaper. I'll be interested in an in depth review/view of the trailer on your boat and your honest opinion on quality of construction. Trait is right about some logo on a dude's shirt. Especially a small one on the lower back. If it ain't on camera it ain't worth squat. Anyway, congrats on the new deal. Hope it works out. Please keep up the honesty.

It’s bass fishing, for god sake. It’s fun, and exciting. As Chris said it’s entertaining and for me it’s an escape from all the messed up shit in this world, and if you and Trait want to change sponsors or express your views on where bass fishing is going, so be it. I hope you guys put out some awesome videos, I like your style , I like your videos on the water and off. If I was a pro bass fisherman I’d think I would be a lot like you. @@Zaldaingerous Guys, I love how Trait speaks passionately and unfiltered!! And I think it’s so good for youth to see someone so well informed speak poignantly about this stuff. It’s a great reminder to everyone, at all levels of fishing and even in life, to do their homework and speak well if you want to speak frankly! #GoTrait

    Wise man to glide by the attempt of Trait to have the name of the podcast discussion, those eyes she cut you to remind you that you didn't like the name could cut diamonds. Smooth my friend, smooooooth 😂😂

    I feel you both hit this nail on the head. Most anglers dont understand thier market value. It is about sales for these sponsors. They need product sales and your content will help that!!!

    Trait hit the nail on the head with the 52 week analogy. The anglers that are successful and make 6 figures are the ones who are working every day for their brand and the brands they represent! UA-camr's and Podcasts like Bass Talk Live are the most frequent content creators.

    Great podcast. You are correct content is king. I stumbled on an opportunity about 2 months ago not expecting much out of it and just putting out content on there site has opened up a door I never would of expected. As far as a guest I would like to see Todd Castledine as a guest. I think you 2 will enjoy his thoughts on tournaments, how to make a living and not be on the top of MLF or BASS.

      I think us pros have really fought doing our own content but it’s just where the world is and where companies need us as pros to be to help them

    Excited to see what you can do Chris, I completely agree with trait with the 14 weeks only. I wish I had more than 6 events for high school a year and only 25-35 open events I can fish.

      PS it's very interesting hearing yall talk about the content side. For so many years content guys were looked down on. I'm a low level channel that's slowly but surely building and I tell you I get a lot of static from tournament guys local and slightly larger series. So it is very interesting hearing yall talk about it I get so many mixed reactions from others in the industry on all levels

    Chris, I started following you because of your Magdraft videos and all the how to’s that go with them. I’ve spent a decent amount on big swimbaits because I got fired up about it from your videos. You have a great personality on camera also. Sorry to hear about the Megabass separation but I think you should definitely keep that “big swimbait” guy reputation going and just continue to grow your UA-cam channel. You will be shocked at what it can turn into in a short period. Most weekend warrior fishermen like me that work a regular job full time live to keep up on fishing and learning through the UA-cam channel content.
