It's nice to see this kind of video of Van, cause I feel like people don't actually get the true experience just staying Downtown. I love living near UBC!
Guess what? They had Japadog at Starlight Festival 2019 at Van Dusen Gardens. So you can literally do both at the same time! I hope they do come back this year.
By the way I was in Vancouver in the early 2000s and fell in love with the city. Been all over Canada and just love your country sooo God bless and much success to you sir.
I absolutely love Vancouver, after the first visit I fell in love and needed to get back - the second time was even better. I seriously cannot believe that I have only just found your channel, it's awesome!! Keep up the great work, I am literally hooked on your videos! its certainly giving me some more great travel inspiration when we can go and explore once again. Stay Safe, all the best from Liverpool, England :)
Finding your videos on Van and its surrounds some of the best informative informal ones out there. Please keep 'em coming, Mike. Loving watching them here in Scotland and looking forward to some more travels to Van in the future.
Hello Mike, I really enjoyed the video clip.... I’m sure your father has gotten his hat by now and is thrilled with it and he must be so very proud of you! Vancouver is such a beautiful city and you’ve certainly captured so many wonderful and amazing parts of the city, it’s definitely on my bucket list of places to visit....after Covid 19 of course. I definitely feel like I’m taking the tour with you and it’s nice to have such a fun and enthusiastic and entertaining tour guide. I can’t wait to see more Mike. Another HOME RUN!!!!!
I love seeing a guide from a local perspective! My husband and I are moving to Vancouver soon so I'm definitely curious about the pro's and cons of living in the different neighborhoods. Would love to hear that from a local's perspective (and not just what they write on apartment websites)!
Michael, it's been decades since I've been to Vancouver, but your travel guides have made me want to visit again. Definitely on my post-COVID bucket list.
Japadog is sooooo good. I have their truck right next to my house. I love UBC, there's some fantastic exhibitions out there. Casa Gelto is where I'm headed this summer lol. You'll run into my buddy, he's a regular disc golfer, and he's been on tv a few times. The cemetery is fantastic for bike riding, watch for coyotes though!
Really enjoyed your videos. Moved to Vancouver last fall and I honestly can’t believe how beautiful the city is. Gonna be using your videos to explore places within the city.
I recently came across your channel and I can tell you that I have learned more about Vancouver than I have ever wanted to know. I am from Virginia Beach, Virginia and probably will never go to Vancouver but it is nice to learn about it.
UBC has a cool echo thing that very few people know about. Its a globe like thing that you stand on and when you speak you can hear an echo its pretty cool! Also at UBC the Faculty of Forestry building has a really cool canoe suspended from the ceiling. I think both things are worth checking out.
Well, seems like most everyone else, I was amazed. Lived in & near-to Vancouver for almost 40yrs but I still saw some new sights here. How have I missed knowing about Camosun Bog ?? Cool. But enjoyed seeing the known sights too because of your infectious enthusiasm. Keep up that energy level. Love it. (And, love the long hair look too.)
How about some haunted places in Vancouver-every town and city has a few-could be fun...(Hair looking great as you are looking more like a swashbuckler! So buckle your swash and let the hair flow.)
I love your channel. I found your train guides yesterday. At first I was sad because I realized that it might be a long while before I get the chance to take a trip. Then your sleeper car videos made me happy. I will retire soon. Your enthusiasm for traveling has given me hope. YOU ROCK YOUNG MAN! 😜😜🤗🤗
Amazing job, keep going! And yes, please do the UBC video! I visited UBC campus last year and feel like there's still so much more to see over there. Greetings from Germany :)
You are such a great tour guide can’t wait for part 3! What does the cannon going off mean and more of it’s history would be lovely! Thanks for taking me with you😘
Oh my god, the aquabus thing is a game changer, thank you😭 I often adventure by myself around the city (I’ve lived here all my life), and didn’t know about that! So convenient, will definitely check it out if it’s still running rn
loved this one again!! I'm surprised I've never heard of the cannon despite being a Vancouverite since birth, your videos keep teaching me new things hahaha
You are so lucky Mike, Vancouver looks awesome, so much of interest to see and that’s just in Vancouver, as for the rest of Canada; probably several hundred videos worth. Take care, stay safe.
Love your hair! You are so sweet! I am a grandmother and have grandkids and I have adopted you! Keep working....you have a great personality...use it...hugs
You never fail to disappoint with your videos, I cannot wait to visit Vancouver. My favourite Ice cream is Rum & Raisin. I’ve ordered my Peak Cap so looking forward to wearing this. 💥👊🔥🇬🇧”
This was cool Mike. The cannon is awesome, is there a story behind the cannon being aimed at the city and why they still fire it? Are there a lot of historical people of Vancouver buried at the cemetery? I look forward to part 3 and any IG photos you post.
Thanks, Mike, for keeping us entertained in these weird times with your videos. It looks so....empty there where you made the video. I can imagine that, in normal times, there are crowds in the park when the sun is shining, chilling around, make some sports or have a BBQ (when it is allowed there to make some). It looks like a dead area at the moment (BTW: At the moment we're are having a heavy thunder stormin the north of Germany😖😖😖😖)
I recently subscribed, Mike, and I really enjoy your videos. You have interesting journeys with a high quality voice presentation. Your videos are fun, informative, and make me want to go with you to your next location. My favorite videos are the train videos. My family and I used to travel by train some 60 years ago. You can imagine what that was like. Louisville, KY to Tulsa, OK with one stop over in St. Louis. This was made possible because my dad worked for the L&N RR Co. Thank you so much!!!!
Also, UBC is huge! Like you pointed out there is the Museum of Anthropology, there's a huge hospital, a hotel, many shops and great restaurants. It's like it's own town, and It's really beautiful too, surrounded by forest and ocean.
Hi I just found your channel. I've lived here in Vancouver for many years and still haven't seen many things. One thing new to me was Camosun Bog and I must check it out soon. Keep up the great work!
My son went to mt.pleasent elementary. And I play frawlf in Coquitlam in Mundy Park. I have played at queen Elizabeth park tho.. amongst many others . And my grandmother is buried in that cemetery.. thanks again for another video
Another great video. Thanks, Mike. I live about halfway up on the Island, and I don't do city much any more, being older and just wanting things slower. I can't think of another part of Canada I'd want to live in, although I wasn't born here on the west coast.
I love the Aquabus and Japadog! The Wirth hats are for a great cause. You look like you throw a mean frisbee! That story about only 1 Cemetery is pretty neat. Maybe lots of folks prefer spreading their ashes at one of the beautiful sites that inspired them. I always thought Beacon Hill Park in Victoria, overlooking the Strait of Juan. De Fuca and the Olympic Mountains in WA would be a great spot. I have no relatives in BC to visit a grave, anyway.
I visited Vancouver or Van as the hipsters say back in 2005 and loved everything but it was a tourist visit for me. Now I see I missed a lot thanks your vids. Hopefully soon this Covid mess ends and us Americans can cross the border and see the cooler sites to visit.
Michael it's good to see you again, wonder with you promoting the city if they'll name a park after you. That would be cool... Thanks again looking forward to the next video. Be happy, be safe, be healthy.
Casa gelato is so good. I remember as a kid, going there after a long walk with my family. We would try lots of flavors, but it was almost impossible to choose one.
Nice video Michael. We just moved to Vancouver from Guelph Ontario and got here a bit more than a couple of weeks ago. Since we live about a 5 or 10 minute walk from the Mountain View Cemetery we have been there already and it's a beautiful place. Once my motorcycle arrives (with our stuff on the moving truck) I look forward to exploring a lot more nice places around here.
Great video.your a natural at this mike .i wouldn't want anyone else to do this , but you ! I don't know where your going , next but i know I'll be watching
Take Sea Bus go to Londsdale Quay. Take a look at the city's skyline from the Top of the Londsdale Quay's Sign Tower(or Pole idk you will see it once you get there.). The best view you can enjoy for free in Vancouver. Thank you for your awesome job!
Dude- was wondering where you were! thanks for the tour. I've always wanted to see Vancouver. I don't care about NYC or Washington DC. I wanna see Canada!
G'day from downunder Mike. I had a real chuckle over your frisbee golf segment and you visiting the dead centre of Vancouver. I can just visualise what your reaction to a boomerang throw might be. Suggestion for your next Guide to Vancouver segment might be " How to get around Vancouver by public transport". I still have my Compass card with about $6 on it. Great to see you are still healthy in these COVID times.
Amongst other things I received on my techie equipment today was a guide to 28 free things to do in and around Melbourne as restrictions come off. Next Monday 22nd we'll be able to go to various attractions that have been in lockdown and, Yay! We'll be able to have a beer at the local without having to order a meal! Just hope there isn't an increase in COVID resulting from the Black Lives Matters protests 10 days ago. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the visit. You have beautiful Parks, University,Aquarium, Meseum ! Can you tell me if we can see wales around Vancouver ? I like also Victoria, Beautiful place with good concerts of Jazz, do you agréé ?
Born and raised in Vancouver. 44 years later and I’m still watching a video about Vancouver. This was great! Thanks! So blessed to call this home :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's nice to see this kind of video of Van, cause I feel like people don't actually get the true experience just staying Downtown. I love living near UBC!
I've lived in Vancouver all my life and I still haven't had japadog, and I pass them all the time!
Give them a try!
Go try! Its good
My dad's GF was a lot more vulgar in her description, but I'll just say they smell like rotten body parts!!!
AllycatlovesAG ikr
Guess what? They had Japadog at Starlight Festival 2019 at Van Dusen Gardens. So you can literally do both at the same time! I hope they do come back this year.
I am from Vancouver bc born and raised and I love the quality and content of your videos. Keep it up 🙏
Thank you! Will do!

Thanks, will do!
I run on the Camosun Bog at least once a week and had no idea it was the only boardwalk in the city of Vancouver. Looking forward to Part 3!
Hello Mike,

You should!

That was a very long boardwalk. I've never been to Vancouver. This is a great video. Thanks. Keep doing great :)
Thanks for watching!
I recently came across your channel and I can tell you that I have learned more about Vancouver than I have ever wanted to know. I am from Virginia Beach, Virginia and probably will never go to Vancouver but it is nice to learn about it.
Very cool!
I swear----Your Videos get better each time! Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome! I'm glad you like them!
Thanks, Michael! Still lovin' the scenic tour of Vancouver!
Glad you enjoyed it
MOA is a favourite place of mine. I’m definitely due for another visit... when it reopens

Oh wow! Thanks Allan!
Our old home town.
How about some haunted places in Vancouver-every town and city has a few-could be fun...(Hair looking great as you are looking more like a swashbuckler! So buckle your swash and let the hair flow.)
The haunted mansion at 25th and Cambie
I love your channel. I found your train guides yesterday. At first I was sad because I realized that it might be a long while before I get the chance to take a trip. Welcome aboard!
I literally grew up on west 16th and camoson. I'm very glad you shed light to the bog.
Nice! I grew up at 14th and Highbury!
Thanks for taking me with you😘
I want you to lead the way into the wide future. And I will follow you everywhere you go...just having you being my guide...💖
Thanks For Part Two of the amazing guide to Vancouver
Im currently writing a story about Van city, and your videos have helped me on that. Thanks!
That's awesome! Thanks for letting me know!
There's also a lunch time horn that goes off at noon
You are so lucky Mike, Vancouver looks awesome, so much of interest to see and that’s just in Vancouver, as for the rest of Canada; probably several hundred videos worth.
Take care, stay safe.
Mike! So nice to stumble across your page. Hope you're doing well 😊
KAI!!!!! Hi! Wow! So long.
Thanks, yeah, I’m doing well. Looking to travel again. Are you still flying?
Thank You Mike for the tour. I enjoy watching your videos. Stay Safe and God Bless You and your family.
Thanks, you too!
Love your hair! You are so sweet! I am a grandmother and have grandkids and I have adopted you! Keep working....you have a great personality...use it...hugs
Thank you so much!! Stay well!
I'll give you mad respect for including disc golf in your video of what to see in Vancouver.
Your videos are great!! It’s so incredible to find a new place to go when I have lived here my whole life!!
Vancouver is such a beautiful city. Thanks for your insight.
You never fail to disappoint with your videos, I cannot wait to visit Vancouver. My favourite Ice cream is Rum & Raisin. I’ve ordered my Peak Cap so looking forward to wearing this. 💥👊🔥🇬🇧”
Good choice!
Good to see you. I love Vancouver, I have a very close friend who lives there. One day I'll visit again.
This was cool Mike. The cannon is awesome, is there a story behind the cannon being aimed at the city and why they still fire it? Are there a lot of historical people of Vancouver buried at the cemetery? I look forward to part 3 and any IG photos you post.
This is what quality content looks like. Excellent.
Wow, thanks
Thanks Mike it was worth the wait for the cannon, it was awesome!
Thanks, Mike, for keeping us entertained in these weird times with your videos. It looks so....empty there where you made the video. Oh I love thunderstorms! You're lucky!
@@DownieLive not really happy. My dog is so scared that he lies in the corner and is afraid of it so much. I hope it will end soon
Great video! Appreciate it. Maybe one day you could do surrounding cities? I'd love to see one on new West or port Moody
Great suggestion!
Canada is so beautiful country and I'm happy to see Vancouver this way though..👱♀️
Omg I’ve been going up to Vancouver from Seattle all my life and never knew about the cannon! Cool
You have to stick around until 9pm for the Nine o’clock Gun ... or at least be somewhere in earshot. 😉
I recently subscribed, Mike, and I really enjoy your videos. You have interesting journeys with a high quality voice presentation. i love this so much! i spent so much of my childhood running around that bog in pacific spirit!
Man this was one of the coolest videos ever! Thank you
Wow, thanks!
Hi I just found your channel. I've lived here in Vancouver for many years and still haven't seen many things. One thing new to me was Camosun Bog and I must check it out soon. Keep up the great work!
Very good with the map! Thank you!
🇧🇷🇨🇦❤ I've been watching these videos with my 7 years old son. We are enjoying to learn about our neighborhoods from you. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I was so impressed with your frisbee throw! Captain America would be proud.
Maybe you could include some of the greenways, or the public plazas? Drum circle if it ever starts up again. Liking the series so far!
Nice to see all the neighborhood history you have there, very interesting! What's the history of the cannon? Are they firing blanks...LOL
Love this vlog. I definitely need to go some of these places next time I ferry over to Vancouver.
My son went to mt.pleasent elementary. And I play frawlf in Coquitlam in Mundy Park. I have played at queen Elizabeth park tho.. amongst many others . And my grandmother is buried in that cemetery.. thanks again for another video
Wow! You have a lot of connections to this video.
Another great video. Thanks, Mike. I live about halfway up on the Island, and I don't do city much any more, being older and just wanting things slower. I can't think of another part of Canada I'd want to live in, although I wasn't born here on the west coast.
I enjoy watching your videos! They're great! Looking forward to the next one!
Glad you like them!
love to chill at dude chilling park 🤙🏼
You must mean Guelph Park...
Give me a part 3 !!! I luv the Vancouver ones
I love the Aquabus and Japadog! The Wirth hats are for a great cause. You look like you throw a mean frisbee! That story about only 1 Cemetery is pretty neat. Lots of great places to add to my list for my next trip from NZ!!
Have fun!
I've always wanted to visit Vancouver but so far, I've only been to Victoria. Hopefully, someday I will make it to Vancouver. Nice video!
You should!

Hahaha. Unfortunately, I think all the parks are already named. 😄
Great to learn about these special places in your home town.
Thanks for visiting
Casa gelato is so good. I remember as a kid, going there after a long walk with my family. We would try lots of flavors, but it was almost impossible to choose one.

Sounds great! I'm waiting to travel a little more on my motorcycle too!
Always great to see you. Stay safe as you video.
Thanks, you too!
So beautiful park, nice job buddy, Love Japadog. Greetings from Mandy, eastern Europe.
I enjoyed this as much as part 1. Thanks!
Awesome, thank you!
I LOVE Japadog went there when I was Planespotting a bit ago
Another great video Mike !Love the way you start things off
Thanks 👍
Love the video, but there's also another boardwalk in Vancouver, located at the Fraser River Dog Park in south Van.
There is a SHORT boardwalk in Fraser River Park in Marpole, the south of Vancouver, so Camosun bog isn't the only one.
Great video.your a natural at this mike .i wouldn't want anyone else to do this , but you !
I don't know where your going , next but i know I'll be watching
Yes!!! Thanks Shawn!
I think this is the first video in a year that I didn’t say that line at the end. I’m glad you noticed.
I love to find I'm visiting a place that has time signals like your cannon, and I'd love to come see Vancouver one day; thanks for the tour!
You’re very welcome, Tom!
I’m from north van. Love these vids my man! Don’t stop them here!!
Late Night Drives in this city HITS!!
Take Sea Bus go to Londsdale Quay. Take a look at the city's skyline from the Top of the Londsdale Quay's Sign Tower(or Pole idk you will see it once you get there.). The best view you can enjoy for free in Vancouver. Thank you for your awesome job!
Great recommendation! Thanks!
Great video!! thank you for sharing it with us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I can't wait for part 3!
I live in this city, idk why im watching the video, but i recognized all the places you mentioned! Amazing video!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Ah yes the Museum of Anthropology! grade 7 field trip for our class -wow thanks Mike!
So fun! Love this not your typical tourist view.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dude- was wondering where you were! thanks for the tour. I've always wanted to see Vancouver. I don't care about NYC or Washington DC. I wanna see Canada!
You bet! More of it to come!
Super Cool!! Well Done!! Exciting, Fun, and Informative.
Not sure if you are aware, but the Hotei is or at least was Jim Pattison's yacht. Charles and Diana were on it touring the opening of Expo 86
