Westin was in the running with us but we couldn't find a plan with a larger laundry room for a sink. Highland's plans had space available for sinks. Also, highland had larger bedrooms.

I am not sure if you did this alreayd but can you make a video about some of the costs associated with building a home. The areas that are sill a mystery to me are the cost of lots if any in a master community, premium lot prices.. do spec homes have lot prices included.. when the advertise a certain amount for example.. highland home at 700k - what are the typical additional costs. Also strategies with buying a spec home thats early in the build process ( to my understanding, you can negotiate certain upgrades depending on the status of the build and how early you catch it) -- Would love to hear some of your strategies on how to save money or what to fully expect.
On inventory homes the lot price is include. If building ground up it honestly depends on the community. In my neighborhood lots can be from free to about 30K is about what I’ve seen here. For similar lots in Katy or Cypress I’ve seen prices as high as 100k. Most people spend 10% on structural and design so on a 700k home I’d expect to end up at the 750-770K. Your best deals any time are gonna be inventory homes that have sat for a bit. On those the sky is the limit. I’ve been able to negotiate some crazy things for my clients over the last year. But the discount is also tied to how well that builder is doing. If they’re selling out of everything then they have less incentive to come down a bunch outside of the relationship I’ve built with them. So even in popular areas I’ve had the content recognition and clout to get better deals than those going in solo. I’d love to go in depth on any specific questions you have. Westin was an option. The agent was rude at one of the communities in Fulshear. We went with Perry instead. It is the overall experience.
Congrats. Perry is a solid builder too.
How soft are the carpets
Most builders have various options but inventory options are pretty soft.

Horrible experience with Westin Homes in Austin.
Please don’t buy. They will not honor their own warranty policy. We are having a very difficult time with them. This is our first week in our new home in Rough Hollow in Austin. If only we could sell it back to them and get out of here, we would gladly get out.
Don’t get fooled by the luxury and show. The house has so many issues once you start living there. Then they just wash their hands off.

The agent doesn’t respond to any of our emails or calls. The only person who shows up is the construction manager and he says that he doesn’t have the authority for anything that needs to be done
